29 Chapter 29

"Let's collect all the demon drops first" I tell Roxanne while going towards the closed gate where the demon drops are.

"Yes, Master" Roxanne replies while following me.

After some time we finished collecting all of the drops, I was too lazy to count the total number of branches and leaves we collected. Feeling exhausted we sat down to catch a breath, in the now empty room.

"Say Roxanne, what do you think the time is right now?" I asked Roxanne who was sitting beside me.

"It's almost morning Master" Roxanne replies after thinking for a while.

Roxanne's body clock is amazing even without seeing the sun she could tell the accurate time.

"Well we should go back to the Inn soon then. Now that we have cleared this room, when will demons start to appear here again?" Knowing that there was still time I asked her about my doubts.

"It will take along time before the demons appear in a cleared Labyrinth trap, so it's safe here now Master" Roxanne replies with a sweet smile.

Hearing Roxanne's reply I could only smile wryly. My question wasn't because I was worried for our safety but to see when I could do this kind of grind again. I think it's better to just go to the upper floors then keep waiting for the labyrinth room to be filled up with demons.

I deactivated the Weapon points and Gram disappeared from my hands. Roxanne gave me the other Gram back thanking me for letting her use it. I took out her shield and scimitar from the backpack and gave them back to her. As we now sat there in silence I checked out Roxxane's Job settings.

[Party Job Setting

Roxanne

Acquired Job: Beast Warrior Level 7, Villager Level 8, Farmer Level 1, Warrior Level 1, Swordsman Level 1, Explorer Level 1, Monk Level 1, Herbalist Level 1

Set Job: Beast Warrior Level 7]

Well even with 20x Exp applied she only leveled up once, from Level 6 to 7. Beast Warrior seems to be a hard Job to level up. As she picked up many leaves while collecting the demon drops she also got the Herbalist job.

Well when I get sufficiently high leveled I will increase 20x to 40x and reduce the Exp reduction from 1/20 to 1/10, as the Exp reduction does not apply to other party members.

I couldn't stop grinning, looking at the levels I gained in just my first labyrinth expedition.

[ Kaga Michio

<Male*Age 17>

Thief: Level 20

Hero: Level 10

Explorer: Level 14

Wizard: Level 13

Monk: Level 16

Equipment: Iron Armor, Leather shoes, Wooden Wand, Leather gloves, Leather cap, Gram, Wizard's Bracelet]

Thief went from Level 5 to Level 20. Monk also went from Level 1 to Level 16 directly. I laughed a bit seeing how I was leveling up at the speed of a rocket. Well I knew these were both were easy to level up jobs.

Now for the hard ones. Explorer went from Level 4 to Level 14. Wizard went from Level 2 to Level 13. And for the last one, Hero leveled up from Level 2 to Level 10. I am just glad it reached double digits. If I didn't have 400x on, then I don't even wanna think about how long it would take to level up this job.

In the og story Michio stumbled into this kind of labyrinth trap room alone and it was only because of the skill Overwhelming and Durandal's MP and HP regen that he managed to survive.

But in my case I was prepared, I had Roxanne with me and I had acquired the Wizard Job for multi target attacks too. And we can't forget the MVP of this battle, my Wizard bracelet.

[Magic Gem (50%)]

As the battle progressed my levels for Wizard and Hero Job went up and so did my Magic damage and Magic pool. Because of that I didn't need the Bracelet's Magic at the very end. Still after the whole fight I ended up using only 50% of it. But these were just Level 1 opponents, as the level increases so will the Magic consumption and at that point maybe one battery won't be enough.

I clicked at my level up rewards system and was bombarded with multiple text boxes. Well I can't wait to find out what rewards I will get. Let's start from the Basic Jobs.

<Thief: Level 10 reward

Accept: Yes No >

The last reward from the Thief job was so underwhelming that I have lost all hope for its Job rewards. I mentally click yes.

<Basic Thief Pack #3 acquired:

-Mask of Obscurity>

Suddenly a white mask appeared in my hand. The mask had no other features on it, only 2 eyeholes. The white mask felt like it was made of rubber.

[Mask of Obscurity

-Saved Face(0/5)]

Looking at the Appraisal description I was even more confused. I focused on the mask and in my mind I got a prompt asking for a target. Looking up I saw Roxanne looking at the mask curiously.

The mask asked for confirmation in my mind about the target and getting an idea of how it works I accepted.

[Mask of Obscurity

-Saved Face(1/5)]

I put the mask on my face and thought of Roxanne.

"Eeeeeh! Master? How did Master's face change into Roxanne's?" Roxanne looked at me in shock.

I touched my face but all I felt was the rubber mask. Roxanne too was touching her face to see if it was still there.

"Let me see it for myself" I took the backpack in my hand and replied to Roxanne. My voice was still the same, it didn't change into Roxanne's nor did my body.

I took out the wooden bucket from the backpack and kept it on the ground. Then I used the spell Water wall. The water wall formed over the bucket and water flowed into it constantly. After 10 seconds the water wall disappeared but the water that was in the bucket and the ground didn't disappear.

Water and earth are what are called tangible elements, even after I use their spells the elements won't disappear unlike fire and air which as soon as the spell ends both of those elements would vanish.

I looked at my face in the mirror and yes it was Roxanne's face but with my black short hair. I opened and closed my mouth and made faces, and the 'Roxanne' in the reflection did the same.

"M-master? How?" Roxanne was still in shock looking at 'her' face .

Satisfied with the experiment I removed the mask from my face and it returned to the same white rubber mask. Holding the mask I willed to delete Roxanne's saved face.

[Mask of Obscurity

-Saved Face(0/5)]

Well thank god I could delete them or else I would have wasted a slot.

"I could change my face into Roxanne's because of this mask. It's a face changing mask I made from my Powers, I just have to see the person once and I could change into that person's face" I explained to Roxanne while handing her the mask.

"Master is amazing" Roxanne spoke while touching the rubbery mask.

It is a powerful item but it just changes face, a bit like the mask from the Mission Impossible movies. Is it because it was a Level 10 reward that's why it was a good reward? And the level 5 rewards won't be that good comparatively?

Roxanne gave me the mask back and I kept it in the backpack. I shifted my sight towards the rest of the rewards.

<Thief: Level 15 reward

Accept: Yes No >

Well it's a level 15 reward so it might not be as good, but anything is better than the lockpick kit.

<Basic Thief Pack #4 acquired>

With a click in my brain, I was reminded of the memories I long forgot. Looking through them there were some tips and tricks for disguising myself. It wasn't some overly complicated things and I don't think it made me a master of disguise, but with the mask and these memories I think it will take people some time to realize that I am fake.

I don't know why and when I will use it but I think this is still a useful reward. Onto the last of the Thief rewards.

<Thief: Level 20 reward

Accept: Yes No >

Level 20 should be a good reward right?

<Basic Thief Pack #5 acquired

-Job Concealment>

Is it a skill? I click on it and a blue text box appears.

[Job concealment: The user can conceal his Job to any other. The skill can remain in use for 1 hour per day]

I think this skill was originally used for hiding the Thief Job. This was something which will definitely come in handy, maybe I will even have a use for it later in the day.

The rewards from the Job Thief were not half bad. Let's open the Monk rewards.

<Monk: Level 5 reward

Accept: Yes No >

The level 1 rewards for Monk was an extremely useful skill so I will not be mad even if this one isn't any good. I mentally click yes.

<Basic Monk Pack #2 acquired:

-Constitution Upgrade (slight)>

I get a tingly feeling all over my body for a second and that soon goes away. The same reward from Villager Level 5? So different Jobs may also have the same rewards.

"Umm Master got taller again?" Roxanne asked while looking at me.

I stand beside Roxanne and yep I am almost half a head taller than her now. Telling Roxanne that it's my Blood Power unlocking again, I go back to the next reward.

<Monk: Level 10 reward

Accept: Yes No >

This is a Level 10 one, so it might be good. I mentally click Yes.

<Basic Monk Pack #3 acquired>

With a familiar click in my brain, I got reminded of memories long forgotten. This time it was memories of me fighting against a shadow opponent with my fists. Well the basic method of fighting that the monks utilize is fists so it does make sense.

After going through the memories I could tell that it was pretty basic fighting stuff. I compared it with my memories from my Warrior job and could see that there weren't many variations in both fighting styles, it was pretty straight forward. Maybe higher leveled rewards would be better.

I shifted my sights towards the last reward from the Monk job.

<Monk: Level 15 reward

Accept: Yes No >

I just hope that it isn't something like a Bald head, I would hate to lose my hair. I mentally click Yes.

<Basic Monk Pack #4 acquired:

-Enhanced Arm Strength (slight)>

This time the tingly feeling was concentrated on my arms. And it went away in a few moments.

I looked at my arms and I could feel that the strength of my grip had definitely increased. For a second I had a thought of punching the wall to see what happens, but I shaked that unrealistic idea out of my head. I will just try out my punching power against a demon in the future.

Now that all the rewards from the Basic Jobs are out of the way, let's open the real rewards.
