2 Registering at the Adventurers Guild!

Opening my eyes and seeing I was in the mortal realm, I looked around and could see I was in a field, and a large city could be seen just ahead of me. The city was surrounded by huge walls and the only way in was the gates on all four sides of the city. Not wasting any time I headed for the gate while contemplating how I would get in since the mortal realm has its own currency, meaning I had no money, though I planned to be an adventurer since that was the best way to get money for people who are strong but had no background. Arriving at the gate and sure enough, the guard stopped me and asked for the entry fee, I tell him I had no money on me but made sure to flaunt my bracelet hoping he'd let me bribe him and sure enough I caught him eyeballing it like a dog would a piece of steak.

"How about we make a deal?" I said staring him in the eye.

"Oh I like when people are straight to the point." said the guard still gazing at my bracelet.

"Okay, How about I give you this bracelet that you have been staring at if you let me in the city and tell me where the adventurers guild is?"

"Alright deal!"

I hand the guard my bracelet that was a gift from one of my sisters. while apologizing to my sister inwardly. After hearing the directions to the guild I started heading there. On the way, I passed by many people of all kinds of races. I could see beast kin, Elves, and of course, humans while walking to the guild.

According to my father In this world, there are 5 intelligent humanoid races, there are Humans, Elves, Beast kin, Orcs, and Demons. Humans, Elves, and Beast kin became allies and banded together to end the great war, pushing back the orcs and demons into hiding.

The power scale goes something like this for each race.

Though demons may seem overpowered compared to other races, they have a considerably lower birth rate, evening out the field when numbers are considered.

Arriving at the guild that anyone walking by would recognize, because of how big it was compared to the other buildings and from the massive sign on the front. Walking in I could see around 50 people just hanging around drinking and talking to each other. some hanging around the quest board looking for a job to do. It was a lively atmosphere that felt welcoming to any adventurer. Walking to the receptionist who was stunning, with long brunette hair and refined facial features. Paired with a large bust, and her above-average height, made her seemingly radiate in a room full of rough and dirty adventurers.

"Hello Miss, could I ask for your help?" I ask, making her look up from the document she was filling out.

"I'd like to sign up as an adventurer?" I say to her while making sure to give my most charming smile.

"Yes, if you would like to become an adventurer please fill out this application and come to me once you're done." She said sounding professional clearly not affected by my charm at all.

Taking the application that she handed me slightly disappointed seeing that my charming smile that was usually enough to make most girls blush be utterly deflected. Getting over it quickly while vowing to myself to make the receptionist blush when I go back to regain my confidence. I went to the nearest table and filled it out. the application had a lot of useful information on it such as how the quest system worked ranking from F to S, F being the lowest and S being the highest. It said that people of a higher rank get better benefits like have their medical fees covered and discounts on inns. You are only allowed to take requests from the guild that are at the same rank, below your rank, or one rank above your own. Meaning you can take an E rank quest at F rank. The way your rank is determined is by an examination that has 2 steps. The first test is to duel against a rank A guild member and have them give their assessment. While the second test is a gathering quest, where you gather materials for points. The more you gather the higher your points. The highest rank you can be placed at is B, and to get that you need full marks on the gathering test and you have to hold off the A rank adventurer for 3 minutes. Pretty confident since ordinary people from the god realm are stronger than the average mortal realms person. But royalty is on another level considering mana is based on genetics and my bloodline is one of the strongest.

After I finished filling out my forum I walked over and after careful consideration based on my experience. Thinking she was one of those hard to get girls, I decided that being upfront is usually the best with those types so I said: "Hello Beautiful, I have finished my application."

"...Thank you, sir, your exams will be held tomorrow since it is already evening and is too late to hold the exams."

She said appearing flustered for a moment, but quickly regathering herself.

"Tomorrow huh, so that means I have nothing to do today, are you off soon? how about joining me at dinner?" I asked giving her my smile once again confident this time she will be won over by my charm.

"y-Yes sir, if that is what you want, I would be honored to join you." said the receptionist visibly nervous.

"Okay great! By the way, I never caught your name?"

"m-Melissa"

"What time are you off work Mellissa?"

"f-Fifteen minutes?" Said, Mellissa still sounding nervous, I brushed it off thinking she was just embarrassed to get asked out by me in front of the whole guild.

"Great Ill just wait here for you to get off, I'm new around here so you will have to show me a good place to eat." I said before walking off to the table I was at before to wait for her to get off work while simultaneously realizing I had no money and would have to sacrifice my last bracelet tonight.
