Chapter #01: What Game Is This?

"Hm what's this a note? I wonder who it's from I don't really talk to many people besides my mom." Ijin says in confusion.

"Hi Ijin this is mom, I just wanted to let you know that I will be going overseas to visit your grandparents. I left you about 25,000$ in your room under your pillow since I'll be gone for at least 2 or 3 months. Sorry it's so sudden, Mommy loves you!"

Ijin's mother tells him everything so her just up and leaving the country without telling him naturally came as a surprise. He didn't really care to much since she had left a note and texted him plus she even left him some money that he could use and the house was payed in full, so he could use the money for his own personal uses.

Naturally he wanted to spend the money right away but was still stunned on how much she had left he was in shock, so he just ended up buying some food since his mother had forgot to make a meal he could eat for at least 2 days. After eating his food he went to his room and began to think about all the things that had happened at school within the past week. He couldn't count how many times he had gotten beat up and had to come home with bruises and lie to his mom but since she wasn't here there was no need to lie.

After thinking for a bit he soon realized that it had became night and he has a test in one of his classes tomorrow so he just decided to head to bed knowing he would get beat tomorrow.

While dozing off he began to think about if he should pay the bullies now that he has the money to do so. He knows that if he pays them they will continue to feed off of him for his money so he just leaves it alone but the beating he received today made him rethink his way of thinking.

Moring has finally arrived and Ijin is now getting ready for school he takes the money with him and stuffs it all the way at the bottom of his bag so he can use it after school, little did he know that was a terrible mistake.

Ijin arrives at the front gates of the school as he is stopped by a deep voice of one of his tormentors.

"Yo Ijin, did you bring me what I asked for yesterday? This test is going to be tough and I'm sure I'm going to need some smokes after this." Blake says.

Once Ijin had heard the voice of Blake one of the strongest second years in the entire school he instinctively made a run for it pretending as he didn't hear Blake. This made break furious. Blake is so strong that even some of the third years listen to him. He is also known for being a very cruel bully, toying with his victims all day, so he decided to let Ijin run. Blake purposely passed by Ijin multiple times during the day, only to catch him at the end of school.

Ijin knew Blake wasn't going to let what happened earlier slide. Instead of taking his normal route of the school, he decided to use the back way out of school to ensure his safety. After making it to the back of the school, Ijin made a run to his house. He ran as fast as his scrawny legs would let him go. He was surprised that he was able to go the entire day without dealing with Blake's wrath, although it would be worse tomorrow.

Ijin begin to play games on his high end pc, there were loads of games that he would play on a daily but there was one in particular that he liked playing a lot. After playing games for about 5-6 hours Ijin went to get food and lay down in his bed while watching TV.

He was bored and he had got a notification from his phone, it was a text message from his mother and his grandmother and a few missed calls from them, he decided to text them back even though it was very late. He didn't call because he didn't know if they were awake or not and didn't want to wake them.

Right as Ijin was closing his phone he saw an app that he had never seen before it was called "Hardcore Evolution." he was curious so he opened the app up and a futuristic menu came up after he finished "registering" his "Avatar" he saw 5 tabs at the bottom of the screen that was confused him they read: "Quest, Status, Inventory, Skills, Shop." Now Ijin is used to playing MMO and RPG games but this felt so unreal to him.

He clicked on quest and it said, "No active Quest, please try later." He was annoyed by this because in MMO & RPG games you usually have a quest right of the bat but he didn't so he moved on. He clicked on Status and it read.

He was confused because he didn't see a open world where he could use his avatar, then a thought rushed through his head, "This could be like in the webnovels." That the thought was instantly shut down. He moved onto the Inventory Tab, he had one item in his inventory and that was:

[Study Book.] He saw a option under this he was curious but he wanted to get this over with so he could invest his stat points and go to sleep. He moved onto the Shop tab and it told him that he was locked out until he reached level 5, this didn't surprise him to much since he had expected it to happen.

He had no skills either so he went back to the status option and debated on what should he invest in, he clicked on the help option so he could see what the stat's did.

[Strength - Improves the overall power of an induvial punching power and kicking power. Also required to use some skills and items.]

[Speed - Increases the User's speed, it also increases attack speed, it can be used to evade attacks as well, is required to use some skills and inventory items.]

[Endurance - Increases how many hits the User can take and how much damage those hits will do, this stat also increases Stamina as well, Stamina pairs well with Speed. (This stat is also determines how fast you will heal)]

[Charm - Improves one random Physical Aspect about yourself which can include: Height, Vision, Charisma, Mental, Body, Weight ETC.]

[Luck - Increases chances of getting better Items from quest, also improves chances of Real World probability]

"I wonder why Endurance is my highest stat, why would I use Charm in a RPG game, I think I should level up my strength. I guess one stat point in Charm wouldn't hurt."

[One SP has been used]

[Charm:1] [Eyesight has been improved to 20/20]

Ijin was curios and since he was a nerd he thought this was like the webcomics and he took off his glasses and he could see perfectly fine without them. It took him a moment to realize that his was real and that all these stats would work in the real world, he automatically though that he needed to get skills.

[Skills cannot be used until level 2.] This made Ijin angry but he blew it off since he still couldn't wrap his around this he immediately used his Stat Points on Charm.

[Four SP has been used]

[Charm:5] [You have grown 3 Inches] [Your body has slightly honed itself]

Ijin went to go look in the mirror and this message didn't like he had grown 3 inches. He was now 6'1, he had also checked all parts of his body and he had become slightly buffer. Ijin felt good about this and began thinking he would no longer be a loser anymore.

"I wonder how much I got." Ijin said feeling confident.

"This one is a no brainer, even though strength is important I think I'm gonna use this stat point in Speed I'm gonna focus on that one right now.]

[Speed: 4] [You are now slightly faster.]

Ijin begin to laugh because of how good this "Game" was he was amazed. He was went to sleep in excitement of going to school the next day.

Morning had finally broke and Ijin has rushed out the house headed to school when he heard the sound of the same voice from yesterday but this time he didn't run he turned around and looked down at Blake.

"Hold up, this bitch got taller boys, not only that he's taller than me now, not to mention he's a little buff. How did you get so tall over night? Don't think I still won't kick your ass punk. Anyway give me some money, I want some smokes." Blake said while laughing.

"No, I don't have any money, go get it yourself this time I have to study." Ijin said confidently.

"Just cause you got a little taller than me, you think you can talk back bitch!" Blake said while throwing a fist at Ijin's head.

Ijin just slightly was able to evade the punch but it still grazed him. It felt like he had been cut by a knife or some sort of blade. He couldn't help but wonder if he got hit by the full fist. Blake froze in shock because he had never seen a first year that was even able to see his fist coming.
