bestie Thom.

Turning the envelope she saw the address as she picked her phone to call Thomas staring at the phone as it rang.

"hey boyfriend, I uhm read your letter thanks, I will call your aunt later and will be going there tomorrow and before I I forget what do you want for Christmas?" she asked

"Why don't you surprise me?" he said grinning from ear to ear.

"Okay I can surprise you by getting nothing" she replied to him.

"uhn uhn don't be like that," he whined like a child who has been deprived of sweet.

smiling at his childish behaviour she simply said okay as she hung up.

she decided to call her mum since it was getting late.

"where are you mum," she asked

"I will be up in a minute I'm at the tacha's house, want to come?" she asked with hope in her voice. Realizing what her mum was trying to do she politely refused as she sent her regards and hung up.

Stretching like a cat she laid back on the bed, as she picked up the book she had borrowed earlier then remembering Thomas aunt she called her when didn't pick she opted to leave a voicemail.

"Hello ma'am, I'm Thomas friend whom he applied for the baker's job for if you don't mind I can come tomorrow as I already got the address, be expecting your call thanks" she sent it

Placing the phone beside her she took the book once again, opened it as she began to read it until she slept off only to be woken up by the rays of the sun that seems to brighten her life each day.

... just across the Gifted street where Jasmine lives there lies another street name the shadowed street, the name was derived from the history surrounding the village before it developed into a city, It was believed that there used to be a cemetery there until missionaries came to build a church, houses which wiped every grave seen there forever some believe while some do not. The king's palace though unknown to many resides just in this street. But with the coming of Christmas which was highly celebrated by all who lived in the country the street had become colourfully endowed, as Christmas music rented the air, tailors sewing to their clients taste, bakers baking to their taste, everyone doing this that highly contradicted to the streets name, Except for a family.

Deep within the city in a very gigantic mansion, a family can be seen having breakfast as a man sat on the chair facing everyone on the dining table a woman can be seen sitting by the right hand of the man at the centre, a young lady could also be seen sitting beside the woman, maids could be seen running to bring food on the table as they served those sitting on the table.

"Call me Jasper," the woman sitting beside the man said to a maid who stood by her.

"yes, milady" the maid bowed her head as she was seen running into the inner room to call whom she was sent to, on getting to a door she knocked.

"come in" came a sharp response as she opened the door and walked in.

Bowing her head she said

"Young Master, the queen has asked of you" when she got no response she took that as an okay and was about to leave when the young prince voice stopped her which left her shivering and unable to reply to him.

"who asked you to leave, come closer" when she didn't reply, drawing her close he bent his head to her neck level, as he plugged his fang into them before sucking her blood, he didn't kill her but left her pale and powerless as he closed the door behind him, and walked to the dining room.

"Mother, father" he greeted his parent, as he took the seat beside the king which was drawn back by a maid, he sat comfortably, then he ruffled his sister's hair who had left his mother's side to sit beside him, she laughed attractively.

"Honey it's going to be your birthday soon and you know what that means"she paused to get his attention seeing him calm and nod his head at her she continued. Jasper knew what it was when it came to his birthday and where his mum was heading to, but he had promised himself to listen to her after all, either he was going to obey her or not was his to decide.

"When are you going to introduce her to us?" when she said her it only meant someone whom he will have to spend the rest of his life with and who was willing to love him after knowing who he is and not only what he could offer he hasn't met a girl like that, only those who would go at any length just so they could be rich, famous and wealthy.

"The preparation for your coronation has been made, you should embrace the fact that you were born the same day of a God"

"and that will be in two weeks time son you need someone by your side just like I have your mum" his father who had been observing his son the whole time suddenly cut in as he placed his hand supportively on his wife's hand "so who's the girl" he completed waiting for a response from his son.

Raising his head which had been stuck in his food the whole time, "I won't disappoint you mum and dad just be patient with me please and before I leave for work I want you guys to tell me what you want for Christmas" he said

"A wife" his parents chorused as they laughed together shaking his head at their persistence request, "ok" he replied "and you"Sophia this time asking his sister who looked up as if thinking

"remember that crystal glass swan we saw in the mall the other day I want it" she replied cutely

"ok" giving her a peck, as he bade his parents goodbye. he left for work together with his assistant.
