Epilogue

Y/N's POV

"So...this is what a flower field looks like" I mumbled as I started at the flower field.

The vibrant display of flowers covered the ground. Bold magenta, soft pink, and white flowers sat right in front of me.

There was a faint sound of busy bees rushing around to collect their daily share of pollen.

The sweet smell of blossomed flowers filled the air. The purple petals felt like soft velvet against my skin.

The sweet, almost sickly, smell of flowers cut through the soft scent of the dewy grass.

With the setting sun came a sky of fire, the orange of every wintry hearth.

It was the battle cry to the gathering night, that the only achievement of darkness is to show starlight all the more clearly.

It's been 9 years since we arrived in the human world. Everything has changed ever since.

All of my children are going to school. Some are even in their teen years. I have already become an adult along with Ray, Emma, and Norman.

Emma had regained her memories after 2 years of being with us which took longer than expected, but I'm glad she finally remembered us.

Norman travels around the world as he explores new regions that have not been discovered before.

He did mention something about wanting to explore the world once he gets 'adopted'. I'm glad he's doing what he always wanted to do.

Emma works as a zookeeper who is in charge of the giraffe department. She loves to ride giraffes when she gets the chance which is so an Emma thing.

Ray is the CEO of a popular business. He runs it without a problem despite being only 24.

Quite young to be a CEO, right? He truly is amazing.

"Y/n, 13 years ago you captured my heart by being exactly who you are. The sweetest, most loving, compassionate, and strongest person I have ever known." Ray said from behind me.

"You have been my very best friend through the good and the bad. You have been the reason I smile and continue to fight. You have believed in me when no one else would, and you have shown me how to love with passion, purity, and unconditional acceptance." Ray rambled.

"Ray, what are you suddenly talking about?" I giggled as I turned around to face him.

He looked serious. I easily get scared when he's serious, because you never know what's going on in his mind.

"I'm not sure if a lifetime is long enough to return all you have given to me, but I promise the rest of my days that I'll spend by your side." he paused as he looked at me in the eye.

"Being with you is already enough..." I mumbled as the strings of my heart tightened. He grabbed my hands in his which surprised me. Ray can be so sweet at times.

"To laugh with you and cry with you, to believe in you and support you. In poverty, I promise to do everything I can to make our love rich, and in wealth to never let our love grow poor." he said.

What he did next surprised me. My eyes widened as I covered my mouth in shock.

Ray had bent down on one knee as he held a f/c box in his hand. The ring shone as the rays of the sun gently caressed our skins.

"Together we are better than we could ever hope to be alone, and today I give you my love, my trust, and my fidelity forever. You will always be the best part of my day." he chuckled.

"Y/n...will you marry me?" he stared into my e/c orbs as I stared into his dark green emerald-like eyes.

"Of course I will...Ray." I giggled as he placed the ring on my finger and wrapped me in his arms.

Under the setting sun were two people sharing a tender and passionate kiss with one another.

Their kiss was full of love. It was as if they were waiting for this moment to come. It was as if they were yearning for each others' love and affection.

"I love you, Y/n" Ray whispered in my ear as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

"I love you too, Ray" I panted from the kiss that lasted for about a minute. I lazily wrapped my arms around his neck.

≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾

"Y/n, since we have been together, you have made me feel complete, more alive, and have shown me the true meaning of happiness. I am a better person with you by my side." Ray confessed.

"That's why today, in front of you, our friends, and our family, I, take you to be my partner, loving what I know of you and trusting what I do not yet know. Y/n, I promise to respect you as an equal." Ray finished.

"Ray, I promise to recognize your interests, desires, and needs as important as mine. I promise to laugh with you when times are good, and endure with you when they are bad." I paused as I took a deep breath.

"I can't wait to grow old together, getting to know the man you will become, and falling more for you each day that passes. Today...I give you my hand, my heart, my body, and soul without condition, completely, and forever." I finished.

"You may now kiss the bride." the priest announced as Ray leaned in closer and we shared a lovely kiss.

I could hear my children cheering in the background, well...can I even consider them as children now? They're all close to becoming adults, are they children?

Of course, they are! My children are my children and there will be nothing that can change that.

After the wedding ceremony, we got the chance to hang out with our friends and family.

"Congratulations Ray! You finally became a man." Don laughed as he smacked Ray's back.

"Congrats, Y/n! If you have any problems, feel free to hit me up. I'm always free." Gilda took my hand with a smile.

"Thank you, Gilda, but I'm sure you're busy with Don." I winked as she blushed heavily.

"It's not like that, Y/n! We're not dating." Gilda pouted as she tried to hide her blushing face.

"Don, how about you man up too? You said you wanted to date a cute girl, Gilda's right there, right Y/n?" Ray smirked at me.

"Indeed." I smirked back as we began teasing the two lovebirds who do not even realize their love for each other which I find adorable.

"Yo Y/n! Heard the news girl! Congrats!" I heard Barbara's booming voice exclaim.

"I don't know how marriage works, but congrats anyway!" Cislo grinned. Vincent congratulated the two of us as he began to lecture Cislo on what marriage is about.

Don called Ray over so he had to leave. He gave me a kiss on the cheek before going over to Don.

"Y-Y/n, c-c-" Zazie paused as he took out a book and began reading it as if he was searching for something.

"C-congrats" he finally managed to say after struggling to pronounce them.

"You know, you can talk to me normally. I don't want you struggling when you talk to me." I said.

"Awaaahhh..." he said as I nodded and replied back.

"Ruth-Y/n, please avoid babying him. If he gets used to this, he won't study anymore and it'll be even more difficult to get him to focus on the letter 'C'." Vincent sighed.

"Awww, but I wanna baby him more. Isn't he adorable? Don't you just wanna pat him on the head?" I asked as I began to ruffle his hair.

"I'm home" my husband announced as I heard some shuffling from the front door. He's probably taking off his shoes.

I took off my apron and hung it as I turned the stove off to greet my husband.

Making my way to the front door, I saw my lovely husband scratching his head with a tired look on his face.

"Welcome home, darling!" I greeted as I wrapped my arms around him and he snaked his arms around my waist.

"Seeing you is enough to brighten my day" he chuckled as he placed a kiss on my neck and another on my lips.

"Welcome back, papa!" a high pitched girl squealed as she ran to her dad and jumped in his arms. She was around 1.

Rosalie is a one-year-old girl. Despite being only one, she managed to learn 3 languages.

She's bubbly but is very bashful when meeting other people. She suspects them for a while until she warms up to them.

Rosalie has a good sense of smell, she always knows what I'm cooking. I guess she has the same nose as mine before they removed it from me.

She loves to read books about flowers and is super duper friendly once she warms up to you.

"Yo" an older boy, around 4, greeted as he stood next to me.

Arthur is a four-year-old boy who also aces every test that comes in his way. He easily gets embarrassed and starts to play with his hair when he gets shy.

He easily notices the smallest things and has great hearing. He also makes a lot of hunches that are mostly right, he'll get them all right soon. I'm sure he got that from me.

The thing he got from Ray was his personality. He knows how to strategize and has done the most insane things.

One time, Rosalie was getting bullied at a daycare and Arthur threatened to beat them up.

It was really funny how the girls thought that he was just bluffing, saying things like 'You wouldn't hit a girl!', he ended up beating them anyways.

I smiled down at him and ruffled his hair, making him glare at me with an embarrassed blush.

"Dinner is almost ready" I informed as I walked back into the kitchen and continued to make our dinner.

After eating and getting the kids ready for bed. We kissed them goodnight and left them in their personal rooms.

Ray and I entered our own room and I began fixing my hair by combing it, making sure to untangle every knot.

"Morning, Y/n" Ray mumbled as he stared at Y/n who just so happened to be waking up.

"I remember you saying that to me back then when we were still in the orphanage" Y/n giggled as she recalled the odd way Ray would greet her.

"Also, you shouldn't watch people sleep, Ray. It's creepy." Y/n remarked as she groaned and brought the blankets to cover her whole body.

"C-Creepy?" Ray stuttered as heat rose to his cheeks, realizing that he had been called out for staring at Y/n sleep for about 10 minutes and watching her wake up too.

"Says the person who remembered something I said 15 years ago." Ray rolled his eyes playfully with a light chuckle.

"I'll get breakfast ready. You should get ready for work." Y/n wiggled her way out of the hug when she noticed what time it was.

"What no, come back. Let me cuddle with you just a little longer." Ray whined as he pulled Y/n back into his arms.

"Ray, there's only an hour left before your work starts. The company needs you. You already know what happened when you left them for a day." Y/n reminded.

"Ugh, I hate and love that you're right. Last time I did that, the building was set on fire since they didn't know how to use a damn coffee machine." Ray groaned.

He hesitantly released from the hug and began to make his way to the bathroom to take a shower. Y/n decided to go and wake the kids up.

When the kids started to dress up and get ready for the day, Y/n walked back to her room and decided to take a shower too.

She entered the shower and started doing her business like messing around with the bubbles from the shampoo and humming a tune that Isabella loved.

She went back to the room and changed into her attire. Ray enters the room and notices the outfit she is wearing, which is specifically for her work.

"You're going to work? What about the kids?" Ray asked as he watched Y/n delicately tie her hair.

"They said it was an urgent task, but don't worry, I know the right people to handle Rosalie and Arthur." Y/n winked as she dialed the number.

≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾

"Are you sure you two are going to be okay?" Y/n asked with a concerned face.

"Stop worrying, Y/n. Worrying will make you age faster." Norman reminded.

"Leave it to us! Babysitter Emma and my partner in crime, Norman, are here to save the day." Emma playfully saluted making Y/n giggle while Ray rolled his eyes.

"We trust the two of you. You better not destroy anything here." Ray warned as he got ready to leave the house with Y/n by his side.

"We'll be back soon. Thanks for doing this." Y/n said with a small wave as Y/n followed behind Ray.

As they were about to leave, Y/n paused as she turned around and stared at Emma with a smile. This made them confused.

"And you are prohibited from making Giraffe cookies." Y/n placed a hand on her hip.

"What?! I never tried to make Giraffe cookies anyways!" Emma retorted as she puffed out her cheeks.

"Are you lying to me?" Y/n gave a kind smile as her fists clenched. To this day, she still hates it when people lie.

"Fine, maybe I did, but I learned from that and I know how to make it!" Emma informed.

"Plus, I'll be keeping an eye on her, so you don't have to worry." Norman reminded.

"I'm glad to hear that. Guess we'll be leaving now." Ray said as he grabbed Y/n by the hand.

"How come you trust Norman more than me?!" Emma whined as she started hitting Norman playfully.

"That's because you're recklessly adorable." Norman chuckled.

Norman and Emma are already engaged and are going to get married in around a month or so.

"Some neighbors complained about hearing some screams coming from this house. It is your mission to find out what it is." my boss told me.

"Understood. May I ask a question?" I asked. He seemed hesitant, but he allowed me.

"Should I take him alive?" I asked as I clenched my gun and leaned against his back door that supposedly leads to his kitchen.

"This dude has been selling some illegal drugs and is still on the loose. Take him alive, we'll hand him to the higher-ups." my boss told me.

"Roger" I smirked as I kicked the door open, sending it flying.

"Don't get too wild" my boss warned one last time before completely leaving this mission to me.

I closed my eyes and listened to my surroundings. The sound of breathing, their bloodstreams, their thoughts.

Sometimes, when I really concentrate, I can hear people's thoughts, but not their inner ones.

I can even identify their personal info like their weight based on how heavy their footsteps are. I can also tell their age by listening to their heartbeat and how heavy they breathe.

This guy is in the basement. He's in his late 30's and is around 75 kg. He seems to have a strong build too.

Sometimes, if I listen hard enough, I can see the silhouette of the person I target by closing my eyes.

I can identify if they're good or bad and even neutral by concentrating. It isn't easy to concentrate, but if you try hard enough, you'll get used to it.

In my eyes, if they're good, the outline of their silhouette is green. If bad, then red. Neutral is white.

But...there seem to be two other silhouettes and their outlines are green. They're breathing heavily and seem to be in so much pain.

The footsteps are going up the stairs. I'm guessing he heard me when I kicked the door open.

I'll just knock him out and take a look at the other two, they seem good, so there shouldn't be a problem.

I waited patiently in the dark with my gun ready. I'll just shoot him and purposely miss his vitals.

"I can hear you!" the man yelled as he suddenly grabbed the back of my collar and yanked my gun away from me.

"Who gave ya the right to barge into my house like that? Did your dad ever teach you manners?" he yelled as he threw me at the wall making me groan in pain.

He's good. He managed to see- no he apparently heard me despite how quiet I was. He's strong too.

"I never had a dad so shut up." I growled as I stood back up and watched as he threw my gun at the ground and stomped on it, breaking it.

I'm impressed. He's strong enough to break a gun with just his foot. He's strong enough to inflict pain on me.

"Sir, may I ask you a question?" I inquired as I stared at him. His hazelnut eyes glowed in the dark.

This guy must've trained a lot to get that strong. It's either that or he worked for the army. I'm sure of that.

My gut is telling me that he's a military soldier, specifically an army commander. That would explain his talents.

"Hah?!" he yelled as he threw a whole table at me. I shouldn't be in the kitchen, there's a lot of things to throw.

It doesn't matter anyway. I was trained to dodge much deadlier things, like arrows.

"Are you keeping children inside of your basement?" I asked as I jumped and dodged the table flying towards me.

"Wh-What? What the hell are you talking about you brat?! Stop with the false assumptions!" he yelled as he threw a chair at me.

I watched the chair and grabbed the leg of it as I stared at him with dead eyes.

"Did you just lie to me?" I asked as I gripped the leg of the chair and threw it at him.

Using the chair as a distraction, I dashed towards him and grabbed the ax from my back.

In a second, he was on the ground unconscious. I just used the ax to make him think that I was gonna attack him with it, but in reality, I was aiming to make him sleep for a few moments.

Tying him up, I decided to take a look in the basement. The neighbors did mention something about screaming.

Slowly walking down the flight of stairs, I held my ax tightly just in case I have to fight an accomplice of his.

"Mmf!" I heard. It sounded like a very young child. I ran to where I heard the noise and found two children behind bars.

My eyes widened as I noticed how beaten up they looked. They had blood pouring from their head, tired eyes, and bruises all over their bodies.

They looked like twins around 11 years old. Reminds me of when I was at the 'orphanage'.

"Oh, dear! Are you two okay? Please take a step back" I requested and they did. I kicked the bars until it broke off.

They then started crying as I wrapped my arms around their frail bodies. It must've been scary.

"Could you please tell me what happened?" I asked as I gently stroked their hairs.

"D-Daddy's been beating us ever since our mom d-died. It got even worse when he started coming home drunk" the girl stuttered.

"He's been injecting some weird green fluid in us saying that it was for the best. B-But it only hurts" the boy stammered.

Daddy? These two are his children?

"Knocking me out isn't enough to bring down an army commander. I can easily break through those ropes. You should leave my kids alone, they're not yours." speaking of the devil.

"What kind of father hurts his own children?" I growled as I stood up and stood in front of the kids protectively.

"What the hell are you even talking about? They're bad kids, so they deserve it. Plus, they're my children, I get to do whatever the hell I want with them." he retorted.

"Beating your kids up, injecting some unknown fluid in their weak bodies, and leaving them in a cold room with nothing but potato sacks to serve as their clothing." I scoffed as I turned to face him.

"You're no father. You're just a monster." I glared at him as I threw my ax which managed to stab him deeply in the shoulder. He groaned.

Just remembering what those scientists did to me was enough to make me mad.

The children must've been so scared, cold, hungry, tired, hurt, and betrayed. They must've been terrified each day, only having each other.

"Children, please turn away. Things are about to get messy." I smirked.

"A reunion?" I repeated as I watched Ray put on a white button-up long-sleeved shirt.

"Yeah. Emma wanted to throw a reunion party since we haven't seen each other for a while." Ray explained.

"That's lovely. I have been missing my children...well they're adults now so...uhhh...Nah, they're still my children." I shook my head as I tried to zip my f/c dress.

I stared at myself in the mirror as I loved the way I looked in the dress I was wearing.

The party is going to be quite formal. It's being held near a flower field where we will go to afterward.

"It's Ray and Y/n!" I heard Nat exclaim as he rushed over to us with Anna following behind.

"Omg, it's been forever!" I said as I wrapped my arms around them. We talked for a while until we had to part ways.

Apparently, Anna and Nat started dating for about a year now. They just got jobs too. They should be 24 by now.

"Y/n!" I heard. Ray had to catch up with the 'guys' which left me with Anna until we had to go.

Turning around, I see the Duo that is always up to no good. They were hiding something behind them.

They took it out and instead of throwing a pie full of whip cream at me, they threw it at each other since I dodged their attack.

"Nice try, but I know the two of you too well." I giggled as I started wiping their faces with a napkin.

"Y/n, we're 21 now. We're adults, you don't have to baby us anymore." Lanni rolled his eyes.

"Yeah Y/n, you're only allowed to do that when we're 7, but we're 21 now. You don't have to treat us like babies." Thomas scoffed with a smirk.

"But you're all children to me!" I retorted as I huffed.

≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾

"Omg, is that you Phil?" I gawked at how tall Phil has become. Isn't he supposed to be 19 or something?

"Whoa, Y/n!" Ray grinned at me as I gave him a hug and patted him on the head by using a stool to get to his height.

"You don't have to treat me like a baby. I may have recently become an adult, but that still hasn't changed the fact that I'm not a kid anymore." Phil chuckled.

"Why does everyone keep telling me that!" I whined.

≿━━━━༺❀༻━━━━≾

My family and I stood in front of the flower field as we watched the sun start to set.

"I proposed to you with this kind of setting, didn't I?" Ray started a conversation. I smiled and nodded.

"It's already been 2 years since I proposed. We already have two kids, everyone is living a peaceful life. Everything that we thought wouldn't happen...just happened." Ray sighed as he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer.

It's true. We all are having a peaceful life. A very lovely one too.

Norman is a famous traveler. Emma is a well-known zookeeper who is a master when it comes to riding giraffes.

Ray is the CEO of a very popular business that is known all over the world.

Don is a fashion designer who makes clothes for women to wear. Gilda is his model who wears the clothes and makes it known.

Nat is a nose surgeon while Anna is a scientist who studies and makes medicines to cure diseases that have no known cure yet.

Lanni and Thomas are called the 'Chef Duo' since they decided to become chefs which I think suits them because of their hairstyles.

The others are still studying and some are slowly but surely working towards their goal.

"I'm glad we never gave up" Norman joined in on our conversation as he stood next to Ray.

"That's rich coming from you. I still haven't forgotten that time you refused to use the device I spent 6 years making." Ray rolled his eyes at Norman making him chuckle.

"I didn't know fire could talk" Emma gave a sassy response making me giggle as she stood next to me.

"I'm surrounded by a bunch of suicidal freaks." I shook my head in disappointment.

"Look who's talking!" they all yelled at me. We laughed and made some flower crowns for everyone.

Life here is lovely. Yes, there may be times where things don't go our way, but we won't give up.

As long as I have my children, then so be it. I don't care whose blood I spill or even the amount of blood I'll spill. Demon or human or whatever comes in my way, I'll get rid of those who harm my children.

We won't allow anyone to harm us again. We won't let anyone take away anything from us again.

I won't let anyone take them away from me again. I won't let them get hurt.

After all, they're the reason I fight. They're the reason I never gave up. They fill the empty void in my heart.

"I love you" Ray leaned towards me as our lips connected. We moved in sync and we soon parted ways.

"I love you too" I replied as I buried my face in his chest.

"Stop flirting you two!" Emma whined making Norman burst into a fit of laughter.

Dear God, if you really exist, I beg you...

(A/N: I'm actually a religious person, but I don't wanna be rude to the people who don't believe in God, so don't get the wrong idea that I don't think God exists)

This is more than enough. I don't need anything more than this.

We'll survive in the human world. We'll live together in the human world.

So please...don't give us anything more...and don't take anything more from us.

Dear God, please, I beg you...together...forever...let us be like this...

Please...let me stay with them. Let me walk the same path they take. Please don't separate us from one another.

After all...

They're my Happiness

(A/N: Hey hey hey! Looks like this story has come to an end, but wait! I'll be uploading two more chapters for fun. It's up to you if you want to read them. I hope you are contented with the ending of this story. I didn't like the idea of Emma forgetting everything, so I changed it up a bit. I hope you don't mind. Anyways, that's 4588 words for you.
