Chapter - 10: The most important thing is to survive!

------------

I rose from my comfortable position, enjoying the view of the two girls embracing me. The sinful bodies beneath me created a captivating scene, and I couldn't deny that it was a beautiful sight.

Looking down, I noticed a substantial bulge, though I was not aroused at the moment; my cock remained in a soft state, yet undeniably sizable.

Fortunately, most of my desires had been fulfilled, prompting me to stand up. I observed the two women opening their eyes in an endearing manner, and I affectionately stroked their heads, paying little attention to their moans.

"You can go back to sleep, my pets," I said, as the women responded by licking my fingers and snuggling with each other for warmth.

Eventually, I managed to rise and decided to indulge in a delicious Krabbypatty, acknowledging its delectable taste. Following that, I headed for a refreshing shower. It seemed only natural to ensure a positive mental state before embarking on a dungeon adventure where the risk of death was notably high.

Beyond what I might have iagined about this world, considering the myriad experiences I had encountered since my arrival, it proved to be undeniably more advanced than my initial expectations. Nearly a month into my stay, I found this place to be much better than I could have dared to hope for.

While the warm water embraced every muscle of my body during the bath, it presented a spectacle that would undoubtedly captivate any woman.

The Hanma physique stood as the pinnacle of humanity, a genetic mutation that bestowed upon me a flawless form crafted for combat. It could be likened to a divine physique from the cultivation world, theoretically making me a celestial child of some higher realm.

Unyielding golden skeleton? A Divine Stainless Body? An Immortal Physique? None could hold a candle to the pinnacle of physical strength that Yuijiro Hanma achieved in just thirty-seven years of his relatively short human life.

Yet, the lingering question remained: where were my thousands of concubines? I believed I deserved such a retinue, far more than Scum-Che or any other young master who relied on external aid, despite already possessing numerous advantages who had.

Well, except for my father Li Qiye, who is practically the foundation of my life... convenient? Yeah, let's go with that. Mostly, I was trying to distract myself and avoid dwelling on the fact that I was about to enter a dungeon where I could genuinely face death if I didn't pay meticulous attention to every detail in front of me.

Setting aside some of my arrogance for the moment, I opened my Gacha inventory and selected a chalice that appeared notably unique and distinct from the others. It took on the appearance of an organic, pod-like structure, as if a creature had laid it like an egg, and whatever emerged from it left a distinct hole.

Contrary to my initial expectation of being immediately teleported into the dungeon, to my surprise, a window appeared in my vision, presenting me with a choice.

[Are you sure you want to enter the Chalice of Isz].

[Yes] [No]

"The Great Chalice of Isz became the cornerstone of the Choir, the elite delegation of the Church of Healing. It was also the first Great Chalice brought to the surface since Byrgenwerth's time, and allowed the Choir to have an audience with Ebrietas," I said in an obviously ironic tone.

That made sense to me. After all, it had something to do with Eldritch beings, and that was more than enough reason to be very careful not to do anything too stupid.

So, after selecting the confirmation, I felt a slight tension in my stomach, and the surroundings changed from my secret room to ruined stone walls.

"I hate the darkness..." I muttered as I felt my body shake slightly. Fortunately, after taking a deep breath and a few seconds, I managed to calm down.

Almost unconsciously, I pulled out Knight Killer from my inventory and surveyed my surroundings. The room I was in was small, perhaps five feet on each side. Two torches were lit on the opposite walls, providing a flickering source of light. In front of me lay a long corridor leading to the dungeon proper.

"Really, I hate to remember that abyss." I said to myself. I took a few minutes to unwind, preparing myself to the best of my ability for any possible contingencies. "From here, I should enter the dungeon, and this should be the safe room where the different monsters can't really hurt me."

"Good..." I muttered, pulling out the Third-Arm Sash from my inventory, which was securely placed around my hips. It could definitely come in handy somehow.

And I certainly didn't forget my favorite card Silent Magician, deciding to keep it in my trouser pocket with the hope that somehow, in the distant future, I would be able to communicate with her.

Next, I reached into my inventory and pulled out the book, and it materialized in my hands. It was a fancy-looking red book with the name of the respective skill boldly written on the cover. Intrigued, I decided to open one to check the text, but unfortunately, the contents were gibberish that I couldn't understand.

Ignoring my surroundings for the moment, my eyes fixed on the red book I held in my hands. I nodded slowly before closing my eyes with a clear intent making its way inside my soul.

Placing my hand on the cover of the book triggered a notification, asking me to confirm whether I wanted to learn the skill or not. Obviously, I chose yes, eager to absorb the contents of the book in my hands.

As if by magic, my brain seemed to receive a flood of information, accompanied by the appearance of a strange deep red rune in my consciousness.

I felt the blood inside my body growing hotter and hotter, as molten magma. It was a peculiar sensation, as if a new energy were infusing vigor into my being, becoming more evident with every passing second.

Simultaneously, an indistinct awareness dawned on me—I could create the flame arrow spell if I desired, and I had control over its intensity and power.

Upon reopening my eyes, green letters flickered over my vision, and the crimson book I held moments ago vanished into specks of light, as if it had never existed.

I nodded, taking a moment to calm my nerves. This was it—the first perilous step on my journey to strength. The initial moment when my life would genuinely be at risk.

Slowly, I continued walking down the corridor. The next room exceeded my expectations in size, spanning perhaps 20 feet on each side. Two clear paths lay opposite each other, and a desiccated corpse leaned against the back wall, motionless.

I ignored the huge cavity in the middle of the room, with an old wooden staircase leading down. However, my attention was drawn to at least five giant rats growling at me, apparently not inclined to let me pass without a fight.

The room I mentioned earlier was, of course, the boss's room on this floor, and I must admit that at first glance it was quite large and impressive, even giving me a feeling of awe that I was not used to.

But before delving into that, I approached the desiccated corpse to see if there was anything interesting. I discovered a familiar ampoule containing clear blood.

Almost immediately, I recognized it—the blood that emanated from Ebrietas. It was the 'sacred medium' found in the chalices. As far as I remembered, her blood might or might not have caused the outbreak of the beasts; the outbreak could be linked to the irritation of the Great Ones.

In the Bloodborne universe, various types of blood possess distinct properties. Assuming Ebrietas' blood is the one used by the Church of Healing, it restores health and continues to do so.

The origin of the 'forbidden blood' brought back to Cainhurst is unknown, but it restores health and aids in stamina regeneration. "But how exactly would this affect me?" I wondered.

I chose to set aside the problem for the moment, standing above the cavity and contemplating how to initiate my attack against the diverse rats. There was no furniture or anything else to obscure them from my sight; it was just a vast empty space.

Feeling secure in the knowledge that these were just giant rats with no real supernatural abilities, I decided it was time to try out my new spell.

"Flame Arrow"

From my vantage point, without much hesitation, I conjured an arrow of fire in my palm and instinctively directed it towards the head of a giant rat. To my satisfaction, I watched it explode in a pool of blood.

However, I wasn't done yet.

"Flame Arrow"

"Flame Arrow"

"Flame Arrow"

I continued casting the spell, primarily to get accustomed to using it. Otherwise, I would have relied on my physical body as usual, but in this situation, being too reckless was not advisable.

This was precisely why I wanted to learn this spell promptly. I preferred hitting my enemies with a fire arrow from a distance rather than getting close and risking being killed or, worse, poisoned, as had happened to Baki.

And after the four rats were completely slaughtered on the ground and their heads were completely destroyed, I was finally free to be able to move on. Frankly, it was incredibly disgusting, but if it meant that I would become stronger, I would also stop being "human." or at least an enhanced version of them.

A/N: A shorter chapter this time; I hope you enjoy it as always!

In this chapter, I aimed to present a distinct context from the usual narrative. The protagonist's behavior diverges from the norm, showcasing a thoughtful approach to his actions. He is portrayed as highly calculating, especially during combat scenarios.

Additionally, I introduced an apparent weakness in the character, a facet that will be delved into and elaborated upon as the story unfolds. This intentional vulnerability contributes to the natural growth of the character, aligning with the conventional progression one expects in a story.

I made a conscious effort to articulate the protagonist's thoughts more explicitly, offering a you a deeper understanding of his character. This allows you to witness firsthand the decisions he might make and provides insight into his mindset.

Anyway, remember to comment and leave a review. If you have any questions, feel free to ask as usual.
