7 His guilt

Xavier POV

It was hard to believe that my best friend was punching me in the face. I can understand the reason behind Izzy's anger and her hatred. I am ready to accept her punishment for breaking her heart. But I don't understand his anger at me.

At least after many years of our meeting, he was not happy to see me. I could only see the hatred in his eyes for me. Even Ethan's mom is not ready to hug me back who used to love me like another son.

I rejected her love and broke her heart to be with that family. But in the end, I lost my love and that family. 

" Xavier…. Are you fine! " Calling my name, Jasmine wiped the blood on the corner of my lips and the bruises on my face. And the little angel was also crying along with Jasmine.

" I am fine. Don't cry, Jasmine…" I replied. The pain in my body is nothing compared to the pain in my heart. 

" Let's go from this place…." She dragged me along with her. Meanwhile, my two bodyguards came in search of me as I came to meet Ethan without their knowledge. They looked at my condition and one of the bodyguards asked, " Boss….who harmed you! " 

" Just leave it. Let's go…." I replied and walked forward to them along with Jasmine and the little angel.

I sat in the driver's seat absentmindedly as I never imagined this kind of response from Ethan. Especially, the person who easily sacrificed his place for me in the football team to play for the states. 

My eyes filled with tears remembering the anger in his eyes. Meanwhile, Jasmine was placed on the backside of the car and buckled the safety belt at her. Then Jasmine sat beside me with a gloomy face.

" Uncle Xavier…. Where is your friend!  Why are we leaving without meeting him! " she asked me innocently. 

" Julie. ..Shhh…be quiet…" Jasmine said, turning her head back. Instantly, the little princess's face turned gloomy. 

I felt so bad but still, I was not in a state to talk. 

" Xavier… I will meet Bella and talk with her. She is my best friend. She will talk with me. Please don't be upset " Jasmine patted my shoulder.

I smiled weakly at her and replied, " I don't think so after what happened today. Three of them are so angry at me"

"  Xavier….you are accepting defeat easily just after taking the first step! Huh! You want to lose Isabella again in your life! " she questioned me.

" It's so hard to see the hatred in her eyes…." I said in a cracking voice.

" So you expect her to run towards you and jump on you with excitement! Huh! Don't forget you broke her heart brutally" she yelled at me.

I lowered my eyes with shame as what she said was true. I was so stupid and a big fool to hurt her feelings for me. But I need one chance to get forgiveness from her. And also I want to express my love to her which I hid in my heart for many years. I want to tell her that she is my first love as I am hers.

" Start the engine first. We have to go to your place and think about what we need to do further…." Jasmine said with a serious expression.
