10 Daydreamer

A girl stood in the school's hallway holding a stack of papers in her hands. She didn't move at all and just stood there like a dead tree. There was a weird look on her face though; her eyes were closed with a big smile on, a bit of drool went down the side, and her entire face was red as a tomato.

"Hello?" said a voice.

"Hello?! Are you okay? Yoohoo?!"

A voice called out to the girl that stood still in a daze.

PINCH

She slightly jumped and shook her head, "Huh? What?"

Another girl pinched her arm, and she finally came to her senses. Jack stood in front of her trying to get past, but this girl had suddenly stopped just in front of him and blocked his path. She was daydreaming. The girl fantasized about bumping into the unfamiliar boy in front of her. She had seen him walk out of the principal's office from down the hall. Something triggered in her mind. A fantasy perhaps. Yes, it was a fantasy of hers to accidentally bump into a handsome boy in the hallway and accidentally touch hands with him as they pick up their scattered papers and books.

Jack had no clue, he just wanted to get to the teacher's lounge as soon as possible. Since he wasn't the one to abruptly obstruct someone else's walking path, he ignored her, stepped to the side, and kept on walking. And she? Well, she continued staring at Jack. Yet as he was leaving, her eyes remained fixed on him.

PINCH

"Hey! What are you doing, Jenny? Stop spacing out and bring those papers to the principal's office!" the other girl said after pinching her again.

"Oww! Ok, ok! I'm going, Anna!" said Jenny.

Jenny turned back and continued on with her duties. But, as she walked, an image of Jack was implanted in her thoughts. Her hands started sweating, and her breathing became faster. Then, more visions of Jack appeared in her mind. Instants later, her heart raced, and her face became hotter.

BADUMPBADUMPBADUMPBADUMP

Anna kept walking, and before she knew it, Jenny was no longer next to her. She turned around to find her and once again, Jenny stood still with the weird look on her face. Anna was infuriated, she rushed toward her.

SLAP

Anna slapped Jenny on the head with a handful of papers.

"Huh? What?" said Jenny.

"Seriously, Jenny. Stop daydreaming!"

"D-d-daydreaming? Was I? I'm sorry… " Jenny lowered her head in shame.

"You better be! Hmph!" Anna stomped her foot and pouted, then she continued walking again. Jenny followed behind Anna, but she kept turning back to see the boy walking further and further away until he was entirely gone from her sights. Jenny sighed and bit the bottom of her lips.

'I hope I'll see him again,' she thought.

The bell rang, signaling that it was lunchtime.

Jack finally made his way to the teacher's lounge and knocked on the door. There was no answer, so he slowly opened the door with caution.

"H-Hello?"

There was no one inside. Jack felt lost, now he had no clue what to do. Just as he was about to enter someone said something from behind.

"Do you need something, student?"

Jack shook and slowly turned his head around to see who it was. A man, with a shirt and tie, wearing glasses stood before him. Soon he realized that this man was one of the teachers.

"Ahh, my name is Jack Bluebell. I'm looking for my homeroom teacher to apologize for my lateness," said Jack.

"Bluebell, huh? Hmm… Ahh, yes you're the new transfer student that was absent today… " said the teacher.

The teacher sized him up with furrowed brows and continued, "Well? What's the reason for you to miss the first day of class? MY homeroom nonetheless… "

Fear surged within Jack as if a tsunami swept an island and swallowed it whole. However, Jack was resolute and stood firm.

'Ahh, I-I can't keep letting fear overcome me!' he thought.

"S-sorry! Sir! It won't happen again, Sir!" Jack apologized as he continuously bowed.

"Mmm. Whatever the reason is, make sure it doesn't happen again," the teacher said.

Jack was delighted with the teacher's words and smiled.

"Thank you, Sir!"

The teacher waved him off and said, "Yeah, yeah… Now follow me, I've got your schedule on my desk."

How fortunate for Jack to have such an easy-going homeroom teacher. He was quickly forgiven for his absence during the first day of class and was able to receive the schedule for his curriculum, all without much trouble. Thus, Jack was able to attend the rest of his scheduled classes for the day. It was an ordinary and uneventful standard school day of introductions and syllabi explanations. Little did he know, trouble was just around the corner. On his way home, as he was approaching the school gates, a fancy black car was parked at the curb. While Jack walked closer and closer, the passenger's window rolled down, and Isabelle was staring right at him. When he realized who she was, Jack stopped in his tracks and became frightened.

"Get over here!" Isabelle commanded with a mean look on her face.

For some reason, Jack obeyed the command without hesitation and rushed over.

Jack had a nervous smile on his face. With one hand placed behind his head, he said, "M-Miss, w-what can I do for you? Hahaha… "

She ignored his words and solely said, "Get in!" and then proceeded to roll up her window.

"H-huh? Get in? W-wait, Miss!" Jack became confused and panicked.

The window rolled down again, "Don't make a fuss and just get in the car!" Isabelle said.

"O-o-okay… "
