4 ~Chapter four~

Groaning at the sound of my buzzing alarm clock, i moved to bury my head under my pillow like i usually did to block out the annoying sound of the blaring alarm clock but felt restricted for some reason. I couldn't move my body properly and my chest felt really warm. Confused, I opened my eyes half heartedly and saw a pair of legs draped over my waist and a small head snuggled up on my chest.

What the-

Suddenly the events of yesterday slapped me on the face and i jolted awake with such force that I accidentally knocked a sleeping Lyria off the bed making her land to the floor with a loud thud.

"Ow!" I heard her cry and I peeked down from the bed to see her rubbing her head.

"Are you okay?" I asked making her head snap towards my direction."What a nice way to wake a girl up Brian" she said sarcastically.

"Sorry, not used to having 'people' in my space"I retorted forcing a tight lipped smile which earned me a glare from her.

Ignoring her glare I rolled out of bed stretching as i stood to my feet."I'm going to take a shower."I yawned rubbing my eyes.

"Hey, I wanna take a shower too"

"Right" I sighed"Use the one in here. I'll go use my dad's" she nodded. I picked up my towel, tooth brush, shoe, sweatshirt and Jeans then exited the room but not before telling her not to touch my stuff.

Dad already left for work thankfully so I didn't have to worry about Lyria being seen. I took a shower which lasted not more that 10minutes, dressed myself in the outfit I had chosen and headed straight to the living room where my backpack was already situated.

My phone dinged. I picked it up to see a message from Charlie asking if I was ready to go yet.

Shit, I totally forgot about Charlie and Aunt Jolene being my ride to school.

I quickly typed in a message telling him I would walk today to which he replied with a lot of question marks which I expertly avoided answering with a lot of smirking emojis.

I heard Lyria coming down the stairs so I shoved my phone into my jean pocket and flunged my backpack over my shoulder as she made an appearance.

"I'm ready" she smiled. I turned to her with a raised eyebrow. "what do you think you're wearing?"

"A dress"

"Made out of my shirt?"

"Well do you have any other Ideas?"

"Yes, wear the shirt like a normal human being"i frowned shaking my head.

"I don't have anything to wear underneath it asides from my underwear!"she snapped making me groan in annoyance

"wait here" I climbed back up the stairs to my parents room and searched through Mom's closet to see if there was anything of Lyria's size in there.

I found a black jean pant and a shirt which looked to be her size and snatched it out from where they hung.

Let's hope it fits.

I jogged back to the living room where she was seated boredly on the couch and handed her the clothes"try these"she took the clothes from me and made me turn around because she was too lazy to go upstairs and change. she's driving me crazy!

"All done" she said in a singsong voice and I turned around. Turns out she and Mom are the same size.

"Let's go." I led her out and locked the door behind me placing the key under the doormat where dad could find it.

"People still do that?" Lyria voiced frowning at the fact that I placed the keys under the doormat.

"Yes now shut up and let's get going"

We finally made it into Rose Valley high and I couldn't help but sigh out a big sigh of relief. Remind me to get a pack of ice for my ears later because they hurt from listening to Lyria whine.

For the first time in my life i felt so overjoyed to pull open the front doors of that gate. Why? Just so I could get away from her.

As soon as we walked in, a lot of heads turned our way with mouths opened wide, some began whispering or better yet gossiping while others literally got their phones out and took pictures. stupid highschool. 'Just what I needed' I grumbled but Lyria didn't seem to care, it's like she loved the attention and I could tell by the smirk on her annoyingly pretty face.

We made it to our first class which was English and took our seats. Normally, I would have sat with Charlie but seeing as Lyria would be so lost without me, I sat next to her.

I took out my textbook and settled it on the table with my pen in hand as the teacher walked in.

"Alright class, we'll be continuing the reading from page 63" The teacher Miss Finn said turning to the board to write down something. Lyria leaned closer to me and whispered"This is a waste of time Brian we should be looking for the Amulet"

"Now is not the right time" I whispered back."Besides how do you intend finding it? Do you have a picture?"

"I thought I made it clear that, that was the reason why I needed your help"she whisper-yelled glaring at me.

"You gotta be kidding me" I scoffed in annoyance"you don't know what it looks like?"

"Mr White" my head snapped up to find Miss Finn staring at Lyria and I with her arms crossed across her chest."Care to share what you and Miss..." she trailed off raising her brow.

"It's Lyria"

"What's your last name?" Miss Finn asked.

"It's just Lyria" she stated.

"Very well, do you mind sharing with the class what you were both discussing?"I looked at Lyria who had a bored look on her face as she replied "No"

"Then stop disturbing my class and pay attention"Miss Finn said sternly then carried on with teaching while i copied the notes from the board

"Psst! Brian"

"What?" I hissed turning to face Lyria when Miss Finn yelled "That's it, both of you detention!" i shot Lyria a glare before we both got up heading for the door when the loud sound of the school's siren resounded through the whole class making Lyria wince.

"Ah, what is that?" she groaned covering her ears with her palms.

"The school's alarm system for emergencies" i replied.

"Class dismissed everyone head to the cafeteria." Krugger's voice rang through the speakers. The school always does this whenever there's an accident they don't want us students to see hence the reason why we were asked to head to the cafeteria. But really, since when do students listen?

"Come on" I grabbed Lyria's hand and rushed out of the class after the large crowd. We broke free from the line of those heading to the cafeteria and instead headed towards the crowd which had formed at the entrance of the school.

Gasps could be heard around and some students seemed to be taking pictures."what's going on?" Lyria asked in confusion.

"We're about to find out" i muttered. Still clutching her hand tightly, we managed to Maneuver our way to the front of the crowd where a very thick circle drawn with blood laid on the floor with a big crow laying dead in the middle clutching something tightly between its claws.

"Holyshit"I blurted out. I turned to look at Lyria and by the look on her face, I could tell that this was no ordinary kill.
