2 Chapter 1: An Unseen Savior

A serpent-like phantom slithered up a building until it used its massive worm-like head to smash into the side of the building.

Boom!

"What is that?" a woman asked, pointing it out.

Fearing their lives were at stake for different reasons, people started running away. Some barely managed to escape the falling pieces of rubble. Yet, a single man stood still, dressed in blue jeans and a black hoodie that covered his head, looked up, and a set of mystical eyes stared into the phantom.

Shkeen!

He vanished in a blink of an eye and appeared on top of the worm-like phantom. From Thin air, a pair of middle-length daggers appeared in his hands as he stabbed his short blades into an endless amount of flesh. He enchanted a spell. "Evil spirit of darkness, created to destroy, vanish."

An array of different lights began to shine throughout the city. Instantly but temporarily blinding everyone in the surrounding area. Then a blue spell circle, and above it, a golden wheel of divine writing appeared, diminishing the creature to thin air.

"Mom, why are we running?" Said a little boy to the lady who had previously located the serpent-like worm creature. "I- Uhh, don't know." She said to her child, who seemed dragged along the ground.

"Uhh, another day, another fight." Said a deep man's voice to himself while standing atop a skyscraper. "I wonder if a human will come to see me and my efforts one day?" He uttered to himself in a wishful manner.

The light blue twin daggers he held onto were twelve inches in total with an eight-inch blade that was curved and serrated. The golden fuller had a dark blue outlining to contrast the bright colors. As he sat down with them at the roof's edge, they instantly vanished into thin air, with bright red lighting crackling away from his hands.

His feet dangled off the skyscraper. His mystical red eyes, which had four-wheel spokes around his pupils, all pointed to a corner with a Tomoe, looked down in amazement at how far the human population had grown.

"Ooo, what a beautiful scene, just like always." He smiled, though he doubted a false memory in the back of his mind. Before he could question it, a voice interrupted his train of thoughts.

"Lord Hakai, please report the status of your battle." Said an angelic voice that he could only hear.

"Hmm, hmm. I completed the mission list." He threw his hands behind his head. "Now, please give me my payment, Tennyo-Chan." He said, sulking.

"Of course." The female voice replied with a bit of giggle. "Lord Hakai, keep it up, and soon will no longer have to pay you." She said, continuing her soft giggles. "Bye-bye for now." She informed him while a sack of money appeared in front of him.

"Ahh, only two-thousand-yen?" He finished counting, exhausted from the low pay. "When am I ever going to build my shrine, let alone purchase the rights for my Takamagahara." He said while scraping the back of his head.

"Well, whatever." Hakai felt a jolt of dark energy whiz past his face. "What's with that Negative ambiance?" He said to himself as he stood up with a frowned look.

"Tennyo, you better pay me good for this." Hakai removed the black hoodie, revealing his long black hair, sharp jawline, and beautiful lips accompanied by a small pointy button nose. His Adam's apple adorned his long neck. He jumped off the tall skyscraper that seemed to pierce the sky and reach the heavens.

As he fell, he perfectly and harmlessly landed on a smaller building. Then, jumping from building to building quickly, he annoyedly spoke to himself. "I wish I could fly!"

Picking up on the massive darkness colliding into one another, he thought. "Two evil spirits fusing?"

Sensing the energy more clearly, he swished past a building to see two massive flesh-hanging spirits conjoin their bodies together. "Ok, my restricted sensory ability did pick it up, but oh no, they're fusing!" He celebrated but also regretted it with a little worried expression.

"Daggers of Calamity!" He screamed with a stern voice.

"Ahh!" He called as he launched himself off a building and towards the pair of evil spirits.

As he got closer, he saw one of the spirits lift its arm and smash it towards him. "Damn it. I can't get out of the way." He said to himself as he felt a sudden impact hand print smash against his back, and soon his face hit the ground.

Boom!

A massive shockwave spiraled out, throwing wind gusts at the nearby shoppers. Still, the people didn't perceive the gigantic evil spirits and only noticed the split sidewalk. Then, assuming an earthquake to occur due to concert cracking as Hakai tried hoisting himself up, the people surrounding the area began to flee. Finally, with the help of many others, people cleared the site in a matter of seconds.

"Ahh, that hurts!" Expressed Hakai as he stood up to see that the area was clear. "Thank goodness!" He said with relief. "Now, to deal with this humongous thing," he gripped his right dagger next to his thigh, wearing blue jeans. He held onto his left shoulder in pain with the other dagger still in his hand.
