Hair

"Feyi!!" I shouted my sister's name from the room

"What?!" she asked from the dining, also shouting

"My hair" I stated normally now, since I had gained her attention

When she didn't say anything, I knew she was ignoring what I just said and that made me angry.

Whenever she comes to me and tells me to make her hair, I always do it without pause, but when it's my turn, she comes up with excuses of doing something. Even after I manage to finally get her to make my hair, it takes her days to finish it, sometimes, it's even a week.

I went downstairs and stood akimbo in front of where she was sitting in the counter.

"Feyi. Are we seriously doing this again?"

"I'm going to do it, na. I'm just doing something else now"

"The same thing you do every time I tell you to do my hair?"

"Feyi, why are you like this?" Amaka, one of our friends asked

"Shey, she's always doing this to the girl" Ginika agreed

"I'm going to do it. I'm just busy" Feyi argued

"It's true" Amaka said sarcastically

"But Afe.." she turned to me

"Hmm?" I asked as I went to sit beside my friends

My name is Ayotimofe, people call me Ayo, but my friends call me Afe

"Can't you just leave your hair like this? It's very nice" she asked

"That's what I told her, oo. She should just like her hair like that" Feyi said

"See, don't even talk. Don't say anything, just come and do what the girl wants" Ginika told her

"I don't want to, it's tiring. But haven't I tried, I just left it like this for a while, this time" I answered Amaka question

"What's tiring there, just style or just comb it and leave it like that. It's fine in anyway" she said touching my hair

I smiled

My hair is a natural curly, pitch black, which I love, long to the small of my back virgin hair, and I've always been proud of it. I refused to relaxed it when people told me, and now I'm so glad I didn't give in. Maybe the only problem is that I sometimes act indifferently to it, and I'm seriously working on that.

"I'll see about that" I told them

"But for now, you're doing my hair" I told my sister and left
