Chapter 5

The match against Chidoriyama was about to start. The coin was tossed with heads going to Chidoriyama while tails goes to Teiko. It lanes on heads. Chidoriyama decided to serve first.

The match then started. Chidoriyama sent the ball over where Kagame sempai receives it and sent it to Hayama sempai. He then sets the ball over to Takou sempai who spiked the ball but it got received by Nishinoya. With ball still in play their setter tossed the ball to their ace who spiked it but got denied by Tendou.

The set advanced at a slow pace according to Daikis plan. The score was now 12 to 8 with Chidoriyama in the lead. Nishinoya was the cause as he saved many spikes.

However Daikis plan foundation was now completed. He gave the signal to the others. In the next toss Hayama sent the ball to Daiki who was met with a blocker. He then hit the ball towards Nishinoya and another player. The ball went past both of them as they stopped due the fact they noticed eachother. The ball hit the floor gaining a point for Teiko.

From then on Daikis plan came to light. The way the players moved became predictable to Teiko who used this to there advantage to score points.

However the they didn't always get points for every play as Nishinoya kept giving his team more chances by saving the ball but it still ended with Teiko winning the first set.

In the second set the match ended up the way Daiki described. Chidoriyama tried to retaliate but there advances were cut off by Teiko. Daiki in this set received many of the balls that came past bringing the morale of Chidoriyama down. To break there defence even more he used his junp floater serve.

All in all it was a victory for Teiko. During the shaking of hands Daiki talked to Nishinoya.

" That game was fun. You are a monster you know that. You kept saving all the balls that came your way. "

" You're right. By the way you were the one who made that plan didn't you? "

" Yep "

" I see well then next year I will beat you."

" I look forward to It."

They both walked off the court right after.

Once Teiko went back to the gym it was time for the meeting.

" Our opponent tommorow is Kitagawa Daichii. They are a strong team making it to the finals last year. The one in charge of plays is there setter Oikawa Toru.

Daiki do you have a plan to deal with them? " Ms Yama asks.

" Right now no. I'll have one by tommorow. I'll take the matches they had and look at them."

" Alright. Now then back your stuff this meeting is over. Get some rest for tommorow."

Soon after that we all head home for tommorow match.

At home I started to analyse Kitagawas matches. I managed to find habits for all the starters and substitutes. One problem was Oikawa. He wasn't predictable. His body language didn't give anything away but it was just him. The problem was his intelligence. He would figure out that we used a plan and then he would play more aggressively so to make sure he doesn't notice I decided to sack the first set. For this round I decided it was better to make small manipulations. In the second set is where we would take advantage of it. The third set was the unpredictable part. We could either win or lose. That's all. After finishing my plan I went to sleep.

Today was the day where we play against Kitagawa Daiichi. Once I arrive at the gym I explain my plan with the team. Ms Yama approved of it and we then headed towards the stadium.

Once there we did our routine on the court to warm up. Kitagawa Daichi was doing the same thing. However they were having a bit of smugness since they consider us a easy target. Well this makes it easier to set up the plan. If they want under estimate us we will take advantage of it to weaken them.

The match then starts. We were getting destroyed. We managed to keep up with Tendou sempai blocks. I managed to get a few blocks in there as well as receives to keep the match going.

By the end of the first set we managed to implement the plan. In the second set the score was 16 to 12 with Kitagawa in the lead. I gave the signal to the others and we started capitalising on my plan. We then scored continuously shutting down Kitagawa attacks. They became restless as them losing the lead caused them to become stressed. They kept thinking of ways to score but almost all of them got denied by Tendou and me. We managed to win the second set that way. On the third set while sitting down I saw Oikawa talking to his teammates. I knew they were going to take us seriously now.

" They are going to come at ud seriously now. Oikawa is probably going to lead the charge. I can't read him but I can read the others. Oikawa probably found out about our plan. I'll tell you where the ball will go. " I said.

The team agreed with me.

On Kitagawa side.

" What they planned this. " The captain said.

" Yes they did. " Oikawa stated, " They made a plan to manipulate our movements before taking advantage of it. It was a good plan. I still don't know who came up with it or what the plan was based on. So for this round we will play aggressively. "

The third set started and it was a all out war. Everytime Oikawa would try to send the ball to another player I used observation haki to predict which player it would be sent to then relaying this information to my teammates using my hands. Oikawa kept looking at me since he knew I was the one behind this but everytime he sent the ball we at the player to shut them down. He knew he couldn't change mid set which no doubt frustrated him.

By the end the score was 24 to 23 with Kitagawa in the lead. I saw Oikawa setting the ball to Iwazumi. I ran towards the ball but missed which gave the point to Kitagawa winning them the match.

I was upset since I lost. I didn't cry though well at least not yet. Once we left the court I headed to the restroom to freshen up. As I watched my face I consoled myself as decided to win the next time we face them.

I then headed to where my team was. As we boarded the bus everyone was silent as we headed home. Once there everyone went there separate ways to go home.
