The "FLIGHT"

The volley ball was falling down as a pair of hands catched it and threw it to another direction. A hand slammed on the midair ball and it fell down with speed.

'Crap. His skills are for real.' Hinata thought as his face slightly scrunched up. "Hey, carrots... Stop with your... train of thoughts." Karasu lazily spoke out.

Hinata looked back at him with irritation. "Carrots? Is that a new nickname for me?!" Hinata shouted at him.

Izumi looked at the king setting to his teammates. "He's a setter." He spoke. Koji took interest and spoke. "So that's the-so-called "king of the court" Kageyama Tobio."

"What even is a setter?" he added. "That's the offensive position that tosses the ball. We had our briefing, you remember right?" Izumi explained.

"Huh? No, I don't remember anything..." Koji answered. "Anyways, guys. Back to practice!" Karasu shouted at them.

Hinata shrinked at the sudden raised voice. "Sheesh, Kara, you're far more like a captain than me." he spoke curtly and recieved a ball.

Kageyama setted the ball again and the spiker tried to hit it but it was too fast. It turned into a failed hit as his shoes squeeked at the floor while landing.

"Your timing is slow. "Come in faster for the quick." I told you!" Kageyama shouted at the spiker. "My bad." The spiker turned around.

"Kageyama," The coach aproached him and spoke to him. "Setting is not all about speed. It's about how well the attacker recieves the ball."

Kageyama only turned around. "I know." he spoke.

"Jeez, the guy totally doesn't get what it is to be an attacker recieving a bad toss." Karasu commented.

The team paused their activity and looked at him with questioning gazes. "Hey, Kara. What do you mean by that?" Izumi asked.

Due to Izumi speaking those words, the cogs inside Karasu's mind started to move. "That's it!" Karasu excitedly exclaimed.

His actions gained more attention from his team. "Guys! I might know a way that we could shut down the other team!"

"...And how will we do that?" Koji asked. "Well, you see, their setter doesn't know how to set his sets for the attacker. Do you now what that means?"

"No," Hinata spoke. "I don't get it at all. How would that help us?" he explained his confusion. Kara only grinned with madness in response.

"Well, you see, if we just focus on blocking or recieving the enemies attack, it will make our chances better. Also..."

"The king of the court is impatient with his servants. The more failure they recieve, the more the teamwork will break apart..."

"Once they fall apart, they'll start a coup, among the chaos, we will sieze the chance to score more than we should be able to."

The common raven is one of the world's smartest birds. The common raven's intelligence is often compared to that of dolphins and chimpanzees.

In experiments, they have shown they can solve problems, remember how people treated them, and plan for future events.

And it's seems, Karasu wants to use the full extent of his capabilities to help his crow-like friend.

The team of seven from Yokigaoka lined up against the full team of Kitagawa Daichi. Excited shouts from the crowd erupt in their ears.

Izumi, Koji and the other 3 were twitching non-stop. Karasu, he was standing there with a non-interested expresion. Hinata, he was blushing with excitement... what?

The referee blew his whissle as the two teams bowed to each other. "Let's play!"

"Koji. Your back number. Show your back number up." Hinata spoke. "Huh?" Koji muttered confused.

The game started as the referee blew his whissle, extending his hand towards Kitagawa first, before pointing to Yokigaoka.

"Koji." As the number 6 on the opposite team was about to serve, Karasu spoke to Koji. "Back away to your left."

Koji only nodded as he new that Karasu had a plan for it and didn't question. Karasu was one of the most smartest people he met.

Number 6 on the other side served the ball and it flew towards Koji. To everyone's suprise, koji backed away from the ball.

The ball kept falling to the ground and everyone thought that was it, the first point was to Kitagawa's side.

That was, until a foot stuck under the ball and it flew straight towards Izumi. "Izumi." Karasu reminded.

"I got it!" Izumi shouted back as he tossed the ball with extreme speed upwards. Towards where Karasu would fly.

Karasu's shoes snickered as he flew.

He held his hand back and with a sudden burst of speed, he spiked the ball down before the blockers on the other team could even jump.

Bam!

The ball landed on the floor. A wave of silence enveloped the whole court. "Wh-what?" Number 3 on the other team stammered.

Karasu only let out a s**t-eating grin as he spoke. "Koji, Izumi, nice cooperation. Just keep up with my demands and we'll slowly win."

The team felt revitalized as they heard Karasu's words, they felt that they could actually do it. "Let's do it!" They shouted in unison.

Hinata and the others gathered, before rotating clockwise in position as Karasu steps back before the the 10 feet line, spinning the ball in his hands.

The referee blows on his whissle as Karasu throws the ball up, he stepped forward and flew. His jump let him reach the ball as he slammed on it.

The ball flew with great speed and landed over the net. The ball fell towards Kitagawa's libero, but as the ball was about to hit, it lost momentum.

'Huh?'

The ball softly hit his hand and fell limply to the left. With it's extreme speed, it was impossible to just lose it's momentum.

That, that wasn't just a float. It was totally something else in the making of its own legend.

Unless... The crowd widened their eyes and looked at Karasu. Theorizing it and actually applying it in real life are two different things.

In a collision, an object experiences a force for a given amount of time that results in its mass undergoing a change in velocity (i.e., that results in a momentum change).

There are four physical quantities mentioned in the above statement - force, time, mass, and velocity change.

The force multiplied by the time is known as the impulse and the mass multiplied by the velocity change is known as the change in momentum.

The impulse experienced by an object is always equal to the change in its momentum. This is known as the impulse-momentum change theorem. Force and time are inversely proportionate.

An object with 100 units of momentum must experience 100 units of impulse in order to be brought to a stop.

Any combination of force and time could be used to produce the 100 units of impulse necessary to stop an object with 100 units of momentum.

The greater the time over which the collision occurs, the smaller the force acting upon the object.

Thus, to minimize the effect of the force on an object involved in a collision, the time must be increased.

And to maximize the effect of the force on an object involved in a collision, the time must be decreased.

Sure, Karasu could have thought of using this to potentially be able to perform could be considered.

But to actually perform it? It means that he has apropriate control over his strength and force exertion to follow after his calculations.

To those who don't know how impossible this was, they would only react such as "Awesome!", "That was cool!", "How did he do that?".

But what did that mean to those who know? Karasu was an absolute genius in both volleyball, and mathematics. It was an irrefutable fact unless it was proven it was just a stroke of luck.

*Prrrrrrt!*

Though still in amazement, the referee whissled and gave points to Yokigaoka's team of 7. The team rejoiced again. They were already 2 points in with almost no struggle against the enemy!

They were praising Karasu as the crowd was in uproar. Among the crowd watching were crows, the crows that would accept a raven with them.

"Woah... guys. Did you see what just happened?" A tough sounding but suprised voice sounded.

"Yes, that was one unique move, I'm pretty sure was impossible to perform, until that happened." Another voice answered.

"Well, let's see how this game develops. I'm now interested in these guys." And, another voice added.

Again, Karasu stepped behind the 10 feet line and readied himself for another serve. he breathed out as he tossed the ball.

His legs moved as they let him soar in the air. His hands impacted the ball as it flew forward stopping just right after it passed the net.

Karasu quickly got into his position as the other team recieved it with difficulty and passed it to Kageyama who setted it.

The spike, had it's faults so it hit one of the first-years and was passed unto Izumi. Izumi got into tossing stance as Karasu jumped.

As Kitagawa focused on Karasu they were unaware of another ace. The blockers jumped in front of Karasu as he only smirked.

Izumi tossed the ball in the complete opposite direction. Orange hair appeared on top of the net and kept rissing, revealing Hinata full wing-span.

Hinata swung his hand down and was met with no blockers, only the floor with hands a few inches not far.

Hinata felt joy and excitement spark in him as he remembered how it was to spike and hit the floor with no hands blocking.

"Yosha!" Hinata shouted as the rest of the team cheered along with him. Kitagawa on the other hand, they were trying to understand what happened.

This was all possible due to the Raven that decided to help his small crow friend. Koji, Izumi, and Hinata swarmed Karasu with praises.
