7 Big decision

Chapter 7

"On the right !" I cried

Then a loud sound was heard in the gym, and all activities seems to stop for a seconde

"Wow dude I'm never going to be the ace with you in the team!" Shout Alan

"You were right you are for sure a winger and not a libero and you also left handed, what a gift" Scream Atsumu

Osamu and Rintaro were speechless, Shinsuke was as usual pretty calm about it, however coach Kurosu was impressed by my technique and power.

I heard him whisper that he was happy that the old wall didn't have me, otherwise it would be difficult to win against him.

This was the first practice we had, it was pretty fun, the twins were always trying something new and Aran was motivated after seeing me spike, We were having fun, after the first week of stamina we pretty much all became friends so playing together was fun. As the coach said we didn't had any strategies or particular obligation to train, however I pretty much only train on my serve and my team play, I wanted to be able to play and know all their habits. My serve was getting better and better, I wanted to be able to serve anywhere on the court with a floating serve or a smatch service, I managed to become the best server of the team, however Atsuma and Aran were close behind me so I couldn't just stop, I knew they were onto me.

Aran was more motivated than ever, he was training as much as me, we were pretty much always training except to sleep or to go to class, we became known as the 2 Practices Devils, training was always a way for me to ease my mind. I guess he knew that so he started to accompany me, then when he saw the difference of level between us, he couldn't stop.

His presence became pretty much regular, and it was so refreshing. After living with my father and his dead presence, so having him with me was new and oddly enough without speaking about it, it helped me get better.

The way he was facing his obstacles, and his determination to be at my level if not better was inspirational, I learned to know him better and I have to say that it was a new experience, I didn't know Sachiro that well.

It was more a confiance relation, I knew that he would be there and he knew that I would also be there, we were sharing the same passion so we became friends and after years we became best friends because we were always together but with Aran it was different.

First my mind wasn't the same, after all I grew few years and now I'm at Junior High School, I was mentaly older and my thought and way of thinking weren't the same, I've also gained some maturity after all event that I've lived, so yeah, my relation with Aran was deeper than the one I created with Sachiro.

This doesn't mean that I was closer to Aran, With Sachiro at first we were chilling together because we had the same passion and that we quite like each other, but with the years we create some kind of link that wasn't discriminable, a sort of trust and aware of each other so yeah these 2 were my closest friends.

Our team was starting to get together, the attacking power of our teams was unsurprisingly really good, with Atsumu as our setter, the possibility that Aran, Rintaro, Osamu and I could give him made him a superb setter, he was trying to built his playstyle as a setter, and I heard from coach Kurosu that he was close. Rintaro, Ren and I were pretty much the only good blockers that we had, Aran and Osamu weren't bad but they weren't at our level. Our best defensive formation was when Michinari and I were at the back with Rintaro as a middle blocker, and Ren and Aran as our wingers.

After a few weeks of the stamina training, pretty much all the ancient players, and surprisingly the majority of the starters decided to quite the club, saying that coach Kurosu was incompetent and how could they progresse in volley ball without playing it. Only Shinsuke and Ren stayed saying that it was because of mentalities like that, that they were not winning.

We all thought that, that was it however, the dad of the ancient capitaine was the director of a sport magasin in the region and, with his son, they created multiple stories about the horrible trainning or behavior that our coach were giving us, it put a lot of pressure on our coach and motivate us to train even more, so we could defend the one that put his confiance and future in our performance.

It's at this time that Shinsuke showed us a new type of his personality, as usual when you did an big error or a stupid choise he would be on you, we used to call this the "Shinsuke anger", however, after the pressur put on the coach, he decided that a new name was neccesary, we decided to call this the "Shinsuke warth". But the surprise didn't stop there, he gained his new ability to know when we were thinking of new things or an innovation in our play, and if he thought that it was the time he would give you his death gaze. We call that the "Shinsuke Ultra-Instinct". Naturally with his seniority and his down to earth personality he quickly became the captain of the team, however he wanted me to become the vice-captain.

I was pretty surprised when that happened, I thought that he would ask Ren as he is a senior of the club, but he explained that because of the motivation I give to the team, and the fact that I lived with the coach, he thought that I would be better for the job.

My relationship with coach Kurosu was getting better, we didn't talk much apart from volleyball especially when we were at home, he would always give me some footage of an interesting match that I had to analyse, we then talk about it and he would give me his appreciation of it.

Just once he asks me about my relationship with a blond girl he saw me with, because even him the volleyball coach as he said it, knew her, she was pretty famous in the school because of her look as she was a foreign and because she would always be in the top 3 of each of her subjects, even I was able to do that. I replied to him that I didn't know who he was talking about, and that was obviously a lie as I only had a girlfriend. I think he knows that I lied but didn't comment on it if we ignore his smirk each time he would see me with her.

"Do you know why the coach wanted us to meet at the sport hall today ? Usually he would ask us to meet at the gym for the stamina training." Ask Astumu

"Yes we know but you will see there" replied an impassive Shinsuke

Astumu would always try to get information from me when Shinsuke wouldn't answer his questions however this time he didn't have the time as coach interrupts.

"Guys today is the day, we decided the regular and our new motto, hurry up and change we have a big day today" cried coach Kurosu.
