1 White Lights

Tokyo, Japan

A street, full of preposterous people, kept the street busy as they walked across the crosswalk. City lights shine on the busy night street and shoes stomp giving the street the music it deserves.

A certain young adult man, at the age of 29 years old, was walking along the crowd crossing the four-way road. He looked delighted as he stare at his phone.

'Finally, finally, finally!' If before he was only delighted, then now he was excited at the text message he received on his phone.

To explain why he was delighted even before receiving the text message, it is because he just got his monthly pay from his part-time job!

He was even jumping in glee as good news keeps happening today, gaining attention from the crowd but he doesn't care.

'Today, I will treat myself to a fancy... no... too expensive... then I will treat myself with whatever I can eat with all of... uhh, no... I need to save... then I will treat myself within budget!' Tatsuo declared after much consideration.

'Huh?'

However, as if heaven went against his luck, it gave him something terrible that will make his life slide downhill.

He stumbled or someone push him as soon as he stepped on the other side of the road. He didn't know and didn't care at this point of life and death. He needed to get up quickly and get out of the road!

But as he was trying to get up, a light came into his view and that was when the time his dreams was taken

He felt a sudden jolt running throughout his body as the pain coming from his leg woke him up from the light blindness.

"ARHHHHHHH!!!" he shouted what he felt from the unbearable pain in his leg. He wanted the pain to be gone but the shout only made the pain get worst but even then he kept shouting before feinting.

The last thing he heard was the scream, mumbles, and gasps of the crowd.

2 years pass by quickly.

Mayeda Tatsuo was inside his room at his parents' house. Wasting his remaining years playing and reading books. He didn't care about the world now as he didn't even know what to do with his life.

That accident kept hunting him whether he was asleep or in reality. He got a phobia of roads. Even going outside his house was hard for him.

That was when he got introduced to the world of games and mangas which somehow alleviated his trauma. Of course, he was also trying hard to overcome this trauma. He even went to a Psychiatrist but he didn't last long because of financial problems.

His parents died in a car accident 10 years ago and now he also got an amputated leg from a traffic accident. As if time went back, the feeling of grief came back as if it was yesterday.

He felt useless... no... he was useless.

"I'm sorry..." Tatsuo suddenly said to his parents with his head bowed down toward the ground.

"I'm sorry for being a burden... I'm sorry mom, dad..." his tears kept coming out of his eye sockets. He was not supposed to cry as he felt crying was making him a burden even more to his parents... but he can't stop it, the tears kept coming out endlessly.

"I promise I will work hard to overcome this trauma and make you proud of me" he stated to his parents. "...in my second life"

White bright light seeped through his eyelids. It was flickering. Even if he wanted to get back to sleep, the light kept flickering and blinding him even though his eyes were closed.

He opened his eyes with much reluctance. However, the white light went intense and blinded him even more. It was reminding him of the time he got crippled.

"ARHHH!!" he shouted with all his might and was crouching covering his ears, tightly closed eyes, and trembling arms.

But before it got worse, warm energy flowed throughout his body and calmed him down.

"Huh?" Tatsuo said as he felt light to the point of not even worrying about anything. He didn't know how that was possible as he know that overcoming a trauma takes time. But before he even came to a conclusion, a voice interrupted and said something to him.

"It is only temporary," the voice said.

Tetsuo wanted to find the source of the sound but now that he came to his senses, what was in his surroundings was pure and unending whites but it was not blinding or irritable to his eyes.

As for the source of the sound, he didn't know, no being was within his sight. Again, before he even came to a conclusion, the voice interrupted him.

"Do not panic, young one." as the voice said those words, a flickering light suddenly appeared within Tatsuo's sight and frightened him.

"ARHHHH!!" Tatsuo, once again, shouted with his might.

The flickering light kept growing as it slowly transformed into a torso of a human being.

"ARHHHH!!"

But once again, the Rob was interrupted by the shrill of Tatsuo.

"What?!" the ROB said with much more irritation than before.

"Ah, I'm sorry," Tatsuo said as he bowed his head before answering the question of questionable being. "It's my first time seeing a genderless human, wait, are you even a human?"

At first, the flickering light was just a flickering light but now it had transformed into a human being. Based on what he had observed, the being in his sight was the most beautiful sculpture ever sculpted. It has the body of a man. It was flawless as if it was the most perfect being the God has created among his perfect creations.

Even though ticks were visible across the Rob's face, he suppressed his irritation and answered the question of Mayeda Tatsuo.

"Before I answer your question and explain your situation, please don't interrupt," the Rob said as he looked at Tatsuo, waiting for an answer.

Tatsuo nodded before saying "Yes, sir"

"Okay, now, to answer your question of what I am. I am @&#%@#"

"???" Tatsuo looked at Rob as if he did only understand the first sentence and was confused at the last.

"I know you're confused by my identity but even if I explain it, you cannot even understand it. Let's just say I'm a random omnipotent being. So, let's just skip it and proceed to your first question"

Tatsuo just looked at Rob before Rob looked at him for a second and nodded. The Rob feels satisfaction as the human being in front of him did not interrupt him.

"As I said before, I am @&#%@#. So, basically, I am genderless or I can be any gender I want as long as I will it"

"Wow, what a good dream, at first I thought I was about to be reincarnated and was sent to another world to save the world from its annihilation. But then I thought, was God a pervert? The answer I get is no. The being in front of me is not only genderless but also clotheless. What a pervert" Tatsuo was immersed in his monologue without him noticing that he was voicing out his thoughts. He did not even know what was about to happen to him.

A second later, Tatsuo was squirming on the ground like a worm as the Rob manifested a rope and bound him, leaving only a part of his head untied.

The Rob brushed his hands against each other before looking at the art that he had just done. He nodded in satisfaction and proceeded to what he was just about to say.

"This is not a dream, Tatsuo. I have been watching you for a while and was saddened by your circumstances. So, I decided to reincarnate you as you guessed earlier."

Tatsuo widened his eyes and realization was hitting him inside out. Knowing well his situation, he squirmed violently as he wants to say something to the being in front of him which was noticed by Rob, and undid the cover of his mouth

"Pwah" Tatsuo exhaled heavily before asking a question about what he considered God. "Do I get a gift like those protagonists in novels?!"

Even though the Rob had given Tatsuo a calming effect, but right now, Tatsuo was feeling the opposite of calm. The Rob knew where he was coming from and let him be.

"Yes but it'll be random"

'Tsk, another gacha scam..' Tatsuo thought and clicked his tongue internally.

"Here they come" ROB stated before looking back at Tetsuo "Please remember my words, I can't explain your situation right now because of them. You will know sooner or later don't worry. Bye-bye now, Tatsuo"

Tatsuo remembered what the being in front of him just said and suddenly asked the most important question about reincarnation.

"Where do I reincarnate!?..."

"Hai..."

Lights were flickering around Tatsuo before his body vanish along the lights and he didn't even hear what the random omnipotent being just said.
