13 Betty's death

"I only had a dream about you which came as a message, which I delivered to you,asking for Prayers to cancel the dream,I will always pray for God's protection and guidance over you,I have done my bit that is all" she added one more time before laying her head again to sleep. Betty retorted back"look Doris or whatever you call yourself I don't care to know, all am saying is don't you ever dream about me again, hope you understand because if you try it again, you will see the other side of me rubbish " she said and left, Doris ignored her and continued her sleep.

Two weeks later,exam is fast approaching and the fear of failing was in all students as they strive hard to read there books,but not for Linda and Betty in this case because they have already settled the lectures in cash and in kind,they were still busy partying.

One morning, Betty went to see a senator in his house and never came back till nightfall. Linda became so worried, unlike her if she wasn't going to make it,she will call and inform her,but in this case, no call,her number that was going through before but no answer is now switched off. Linda became more worried and pray nothing should happen to her friend as she immediately remembered Doris dream"oh god please guide and protect my friend Betty wherever she is "she thought aloud and went to Doris for prayers. Doris said her and said" I know you came because of your friend as she is not yet back, god knows I warned Betty but she didn't listen and now look at how it has landed her". Linda couldn't Bear it anymore"no no please stop talking like that,nothing will happen to her, please I only came for prayers" Linda said with tears on her eyes. Doris looked at her and said "is already late, assuming she came for the prayers I asked her to,she wouldn't have ended up like this". Betty looked at her and wondering why she keeps on sounding so convincing that something happened to her"nothing will happen to her,that she didn't come for prayers that doesn't mean, something bad will happen to her,please let's just hope, nothing happened to her ". " I pray " Doris added.

"mum please tell me hope nothing happened to Betty" Sophie asked the mum. "my daughter that was the same thing I kept asking myself through out that day, not knowing that the unimaginable happened" she said sadly. Sophie looked at her and saw her mum in tears as and she said "oh no mum not again, what unimaginable". " calm down my daughter am almost there " Linda added.

When she heard what Doris said, it dawned on her that she not ready to pray, she had to leave. she went back to her bed to lay down she couldn't sleep all she kept on thinking was her friend,she was awake all through the night till the following morning. still no trace of her. She wanted to call her parents but she decided to wait till tomorrow, if she didn't hear from her she will inform the police for a search and call her parents too.

Linda couldn't even eat,she lost her appetite as she was pacing the room up and down"I can't afford to loose my friend" she thought aloud. She continued till the following morning.

Linda couldn't sleep last night as she kept calling her friends number which wasn't going through.

The next morning she sat on her bed and was still waiting for her, any footstep she heard in the staircase she will rush to see if she is the one but unfortunately she wasn't. This continued until in the afternoon she was about going to the students affairs to call her parents because she heard her phone ring,she jumped up from her bed and rushed to answer it, she saw a strange number that wasn't saved on her phone "who is this person calling me now,I hope is not Chief calling me to come over because I won't come" she thought aloud. she kept the phone back as she continued dressing up,but the phone kept on ringing, she had no choice but to answer it,she was expecting to hear chief's voice but instead she heard a distress voice saying "Hello please am I speaking to miss Linda Peters". immediately Linda stopped what she was doing to answer the call" yes yes please who am I speaking with?" . the caller continued "this is doctor John calling from Emmanuel specialist hospital". Linda wondering why a doctor will be calling her" okay doctor John how may I be of help". Doctor John replied "yes am calling because of one miss Betty Johnson, whom I believe she is your friend". immediately Linda stood up and shouted" yes yes Betty she is my very good friend, she left the house since yesterday morning and I haven't heard from her,hope she is good". The doctor replied sadly "am afraid she is not, you see she went to see one senator Cosmos in his house,senator cosmos resident was attacked by some unknown assassins" . Linda's hand started shaking, her heart started pounding "oh no no no not again". Doctor John ignored her and continued" so they entered and killed every one in the house, your friend Betty wanted to escape but they caught her and raped her, as it that wasn't enough they shot her twice on her stomach, we tried everything in our power to revive her before we left the hospital she gave up the ghost, not before giving me your number to call you". Linda felt her world was coming to an end"oh no,this is not true, please doctor tell me this is not true "she screamed and fell on the ground crying uncontrollably.
