28 Stage two of Training

With a few more shocking posts week after week, month after month, things started to die down. Now, that is not to be confused with the School of Dreams lowering standards or anything remotely similar. It was just that people got used to the death and carnage that the students wreaking.

After around 3 months of infighting, the tournaments finally started to die down.

And at that time, each respective instructor, the five geniuses, all spoke up about an issue.

"Good, good! Finally, you have reached a minimum threshold. You are now able to go out into the world. Come follow me!'

And with that, each layer of hell was brought together, to the entrance from which they had entered. To think it had only been 3 months after that scene of a 1500 people massacre. It had felt like forever for them, fighting day in, day out.

After all the remaining students had settled down, which was not a lot, only a measly 100 now, including those from the previous Court 1 in the Academy, Daisuke spoke up.

"Congratulations on passing the first three months of our curriculum. Anyone who wants to, can leave! That's right, leave! You guys can proudly say that you have escaped Hell!"

Theses sentences had stunned everyone present. Leave? What was it to leave? They had already forgotten freedom, about the outside world. For Hell was their home. No matter how tough, how rough, it had been their home for three months.

Some though, had no doubt in their minds. Both ways. Some immediately started walking towards the exit, a smile plastered on their faces. Some though, looked on in disappointment, instead chose to sit down and take this measly time to rest, a luxury over the past three months.

As Brian looked on, he was quite pleased. Only 10 people had chosen to leave. It looks like the remaining people had seen the purpose of these sentences. He nodded to Akbar, who fired off some fireballs.

Before any of the 10 could react and realize their fault, they were already reduced to ashes. With this the students left had realized the purpose of these actions and words. Stay loyal and you will be rewarded. But you have not shown your loyalty yet.

Daisuke spoke up again, saying: "Haha! So much of you chose to stay. Guess our training is working. From now on, you guys will form teams. Groups of 10. Perfectly! Those left out... Now hurry up!"

After Daisuke finished speaking and everyone comprehended his words, people started milling around and then frantically running, finding those that they had looked up to over the past 3 months.

Some though, saw the truth of the matter. They were forming teams. You couldn't form a perfect all-rounded team with everyone having similar fighting powers. You needed a range, just like the 5 geniuses. So those smart only found one person similar to them in ability and skill, and then started finding people that they did not recognize but others were crowding towards.

These people would be those that understood the crux of the issue, the smart ones, since they were the ones that everyone else recognized as a genius in Hell.

And so, after 5 or so minutes, Daisuke got up and shouted, "STOP!!!"

With that, everyone froze on the spot. Looking out, Brian and his team found that there were actually 23 people left over. 'Aihhh', he thought in his mind, 'I thought they would be at least a little bit smarter, but whatever.'

It turned out that most of those 23 people were from his layer of hell. Surprisingly, there was no one among those 23 that were from Caesar's layer of Hell. But thinking again, it made some sense. Brian had gone for full body leveling up, since that was the weak point of the virtual class.

He had neglected other studies and helping his students identifying the hidden meaning. Caesar, on the other hand, incorporated many ways to gain secret knowledge into his curriculum for his students, which was also why everyone in his team saw the hidden meaning, to find those not in your layer of hell.

At this, Brian could only sigh. It was just that they were disadvantaged, he thought. He then nodded towards Akbar, and right on cue, those 23 people burst into flames.

Daisuke spoke up, "Hmmm... This is a little worse than predicted, but it's alright. Now, we will give you a whole day to get closer with your group. Tomorrow, assign roles to everyone and report back at exactly 0500. That's right, we're giving you a whole day off. Take it as a reward for surviving the first three months. Now go!"

And just like that, groups of ten started filing out of the entrance, back to their respective layers of hell- Wait, where would they stay since they weren't from the same layer. At this, Brian and his group smiled looking and subtly hinting towards the ground.

It was going to be a long night.

---

Contrary to the student's emotions of despair, when Brian and the other Keepers of Hell got back, they wore happy expressions.

Caesar, still the carefree person he was, spoke up first.

"Oh my god! Finally! I had to maintain this cold face for three whole months! THREE WHOLE MONTHS! It doesn't even feel right to smile anymore. Anyway, Brian..."

Brian knew what Caesar was going to talk about, the 23 that were burnt, and he shamelessly avoided it by saying "Tomorrow will be a big day, get some rest. See ya!"

And with that he fled off. Only a little later did Caesar find a problem. And he shouted so loud that even the students could faintly hear something, even when they were on opposite sides of the campus.

"You motherf*cker! What do you mean, a big day? Huh? We are sending them off for what, like f*cking 5 minutes. And then it's rest! You call that a big day? You shameless bastard!"

At this, Brian could only curl up the corners of his lips, something he hadn't done for three whole months.
