Nolan is top-notch student with excellent grades, loving friends and family, unique talents and capabilities and aspirations for college. Unbeknownst to everyone, he's also a white-hat/black-hat hacker with an extremely high IQ, a fierce sense of justice and an expertise that he alone knows. He'll stop at nothing to ensure that those who are evil and corrupt are brought to justice no matter what. More so, Nolan makes certain that nothing gets past him when he takes on corporations and organizations so corrupt ensuring that said corporations and organizations pay dearly for what they do to hard-working people who make sacrifices to ensure that their loved ones have a chance at a better life. When he's not on the web utilizing his hacker skills or dealing with homework, he's listening to music, reading, drawing, playing with his friends outside, going to the movies, cooking with his family or just playing Shogi, Go, Checkers or Chess if not engage in tickle fights with his loving grandfather Raiden. Little does he realize is that like the mythical Icarus he's about to fly too close to the sun and it'll take everything he knows to pull off one last trick up his sleeve to escape the clutches of the authorities before it's too late, especially if he has any hope of making it to college.

Raiden is Nolan's grandfather who is also a retired hacker turned college professor. He's very devoted to his family and friends and loves his grandson Nolan very much. He spends his time with Nolan playing Shogi, Go, Checkers, Mahjong, Chess while also relaying his firsthand experiences as a hacker and dispensing valuable life lessons and innate wisdom as well as warning him to be cautious and always think as many steps as possible ahead of those who may pose a challenge. Raiden is aware of Nolan's secret life as a white-hat/black-hat hacker and supports him 100% while making sure that he always remains level-headed and not fly too close to the sun like Icarus did.
