1 The door (revised version)

(A/N: okay readers here is the revised version of this chapter hope you like it)

It was here that I wrote this that began all of it, and yet from a distant memory seeming like a fleeting dream, upon hurdles and hurdles of predicaments from different lifetimes, of which I cannot fully comprehend, thus started it all, and from here has it also ended.

The clock on his room read passed 10 in the morning, as a teenage boy with blue eyes and messy hair named Helios Black was still sleeping in his bed when he suddenly wakes up when his room got hotter, being the morning sun slowly rising up higher and higher signaling the coming of noon time.

With his eyes still shut, he lazily reaches for the button of his electric fan pressing speed number one, as the old clunky appliance, full of dust and was very noisy, slowly cooled the room with its breeze.

Satisfied with the temperature, he continues his slumber.

A few hours later.

Helios started hearing a loud sound coming outside of his room.

Helios angrily walks out of his room while stomping his feet on the floor.

Follow the sound Helios arrived in the living room where a girl with a waist-length blue hair and an beautiful face was watching TV at a loud volume.

The girl was stunning and gorgeous, but he doesn't know who this girl was, nor the reason why she is in Helios' house. For all he knew, it might be thief!

Helios slowly walked towards her and was about to ask the girl but then fragments of memories flash in his mind as he suddenly gets a bad headache.

He went for the couch, as he was having a hard time trying to stay standing as he sorts out the memories that appeared in his mind as he continues to endure the headache.

Seeing Helios was having a headache, the girl just shrugs it off and thought it was because of him sleeping too much.

After sorting the memories in his mind, the headache lessens and Helios came to know that the date today was April 9, 2014, and yesterday was seemingly his birthday; or rather, the birthday of the body that he now inhabits, as he slowly comes to a stark realisation that this was not him, nor was this the house he remembers.

In panic, he rushes to find the bathroom of this house and looks himself in the mirror, and it was now clear that he was indeed, in another person's body.

The owner, coincidentally also named, Helios Black, as his appearance seemingly look like a much younger version of him, albeit with subtle difference as he remembers from the time, he was in his youth back in his former self.

As the fragments of the memories of the former Helios and this current Helios slowly come to an agreement together, he came to the realisation that he was now in another world, living in someone else's body.

The memory and identity of the original owner of this body has left along with him, but fragments of his memories are scattered throughout Helios' mind, as he slowly pieces together what information he can scavenge from the past owner, he came to know that this was not planet Earth, but a different planet, in another galaxy altogether. And that the people in this planet which happen to seemingly resemble humans from his previous life— have evolved special abilities and powers, with 90% of the planet's population having some sort of supernatural ability or skill, they are called, 'Ability Users' several of which Helios had only seen in fantasy stories, tv shows, and movies in his previous life. And these abilities here in this world are just part of everyday life.

Helios was an Otaku in his previous life, he was obsessed with Anime, Manga, and everything related to the geek and nerd culture within the Otaku sphere. To him, this event was akin to being Isekai-ed or transported to another world, therefore he was enthusiastic about it!

He starts searching for any information of this so-called ability from the memories of the previous Helios Black, there he came to know that the previous Helios was trying to apply for a high paying job for ability-users only. But it was also a pretty dangerous job so he sets aside the idea for now, as he still tries to figure out what sort of ability this body of the previous Helios had.

He went back to the living room and now recognizes that the girl who was watching TV was his little sister, who was three years younger than him, named Rose Mary Black.

She has the ability to manipulate the wind.

Because Helios was addicted to reading so many books regarding the Isekai fantasy genre, he was able to accept easily accept the situation he was in now, and gladly lives the life as the new Helios Black.

All the people in this world have evolved special organs that can harvest the special particles in the atmosphere of this planet and use it to magnify or manifest special skill and abilities, thus granting them the title, 'Ability-user'.

But not everyone has access to these amazing abilities, as they must be able to open the door inside their consciousness and it is only accessible from the day they were born until around eighteen years of age. And beyond that, they can no longer unlock their special organ for ability manifestation and become an ordinary citizen. These strange phenomenon is known as the Trial of Consciousness, and it is a mystery to this day how the existence of such door within the state of consciousness exist, nor how the user could even access it in their part of consciousness in the first place.

Make no mistake, there is Science and Medicine in this world, and the doctors and scientists are still trying to find how this strange phenomena works out.

No one knows where the ability comes from, some say it's a gift, others say it's the next stage of evolution. As for as the science for this world is concerned, they current knowledge is that special particles in the planet caused the early people of this world to slowly adapt and harvest its potential. But the exact source of this special particles is unknown, nor its make, not yet fully understood.

But everyone knows that the older you get the lesser the chance of a person awakening their ability.

As Helios tries to dig up any information about his ability, he could not find any, so he tries asking his sister directly about it,

"But you still haven't awakened your ability yet, big bro," Rose Mary answered.

This made Helios kinda curious. Knowing this information, Helios went back to his room and mediates on his bed, he excitedly closes his eyes and to tries to enter his consciousness.

There he saw a large simple wooden door. It wasn't anything special, it was just a plain, wooden door without a handle or anything that can be used for opening it, the only noticeable thing about it is that it has a sign written at the top that says 'The door of Ability'.

The previous Helios Black tried to open this door but to no success, the door didn't even move not even a nudge. The previous Helios came back everyday, trying over and over to open the door, right until the day he could not do so no more, when the new Helios occupied this body.

Helios curiously touches the door and noticed how smooth the door was, while his hand was gliding over its surface, the door slowly opened. He marvelled of what had happened, as the previous Helios did everything in his power to open it, but was always met with a failure, and yet here he was, merely gliding at the door's surface, was able to open it, without effort.

He was happy that finally, the door opened, but somehow, he felt sad for the original Helios, thinking what kind of emotion he would have had if he saw the door open.

With a slight hesitation, Helios anxiously enters the door and beyond it was a never-ending grassland with a few large rocks and stones, but what stood out was a huge boulder further ahead, and a top of that boulder was a majestic figure of someone, or something, sitting atop the huge rock.

As he slowly approaches the boulder, the image of the figure became clear in his eyes, It was a stone statue of a sitting humanoid monkey with an Ancient Battle Armor and on his right hand was a staff decorated in with detailed carvings, while the face of the figure showing an imposing demeanour.

Arriving at the boulder the only reachable part of the statue was its foot, Helios want to see the full statue up close and to know if it had a connection for him to have an ability, so he searches around the boulder for a path to the top but to his dismay, he couldn't find any.

As his curiosity gets the best of him, he tried to find a way to reach the top of the boulder by gathering several large rocks and piling it atop of each other in order to create a platform that can be easily climb to. He kept on piling stones and rocks until he was able to reach the top of the boulder where the humanoid monkey statue was sitting.

Curiously touching the statue, he noticed that every strand of its fur was carved in detail and seemed lifelike, along with its posture as if it was waiting for someone.

While he was inspecting the statue, he touches the staff that the statue was holding then the statue started to crack and.

Helios started to panic as the perfectly detailed statue that might have something to do with his ability was now breaking.

The statue fractured and revealing inside of it was a living humanoid monkey in its image.

Both of his eyes were wide open as Helios watches in awe of this incredible sight.

The humanoid monkey starts stretching his body, and bone-cracking noises sound as he tries to move around.

After stretching, the humanoid monkey whirls his staff around his body then rests it atop his shoulder, as the monkey slowly opens his mouth and declares,

"I am 

"SUN 

"WU 

"KONG!"

the humanoid monkey shouted as the birds started flocking towards their spot, and a gust of warm wind blew from the east.

Helios was stunned by what he saw, as the Humanoid Monkey waves at Helios with a smile on its face.

Helios snapped out from his stupor, when Sun Wukong was waving his hand in front of Helios' face.

"I-Im-I'm Helios Black! S-Sir!," he panickily said.

"Helios Black," the Monkey King said, as he walked around Helios inspecting him.

"Very well then, considered it carved within my memories,

"Once, again, I am Sun Wukong, the Monkey King."

"Oh, M-Monkey King,

"Y-Your Majesty—

"No need to be so formal, you may refer to me as Wukong or Monkey King, whatever floats your boat,"

"Oh-ohkay,

"S-sir Wukong, where exactly am I now? I thought that after I open that door, I will awaken my ability?" Helios asked.

"Ability?

"What ability are you talking about?" the Monkey King said, as he waved his hand introducing Helios to the scenery around hime,

"This, my boy, is the world of Inheritance!

"It is where you can receive any kind of Inheritance from a legendary mythological being like me!

"And right now you are going to receive my inheritance," the Monkey King proudly declared with enthusiasm.

"Inheritance?"

"That's right, inheritance,"

"You mean like some kind of vast treasure, gold, and riches?"

"No-no-no! Not that kind of inheritance!"

"But rather, I will bestow onto thee a special heritage from me, a certain Power—of which you may use to your hearts content, be it to subdue your enemies, or conquer nations, or dilly dally around as you live your days in the lowest effort kind of life.

"The choice is yours Helios, and the burden will be to you alone."

"Oh! So I get some kind of ability? Alright!"

"Not quite exactly," the monkey king said as he approached Helios and touched the temple of his head in which the Monkey King read Helios' mind.

For a brief moment, the Monkey King paused, as his expression was that of someone startled. Then he looked at Helios eye with serious gaze as if he slowly realised something. Then he cleared his throat and continued.

"For you see, the ability which you speak of is something related to that of your world.

"Outside of your planet, such abilities are useless.

"On the other hand, the power, or inheritance that I will give you will be an extension of yourself,

"That of which something you can use throughout the different worlds and dimensions!"

"Ohhh I see.. so it's something really cool and unique!

"Although to be honest, I still kinda don't get it,

"But as long as I get an awesome ability, I'll gladly accept it, Mr. Monkey King, sir!" Helios enthusiastically answered.

"Very well then little gir—, boy. I shall now give you my inheritance,"

The monkey king raised his hands and a bright glow appeared in his palms, while a gust of wind encircled both of them. Then he slowly imparts this bright glow towards Helios as it slowly envelopes him then it immediately went back to Wukong's hands.

"Ohh wait? you don't have any ki inside your body!

"No-no-no! That would not do! Tsk tsk tsk!"

"You can't inherit the power I will give you if you don't have that," The monkey king said, as he walked back in forth in his spot while rubbing his chin.

Then he suddenly stopped and said,

"Guess I have no other choice but to give you…

"that," the monkey king said as he paused for a moment, while Helios was wondering what he meant.

"I'm going to give you the Cosmic Energy Cultivation..

"That I stole from the celestial library, HAHA!"

Wukong said as his expression suddenly turned into a troll face while trying to imagine the face of the celestial if they found out that one of their scrolls is missing from the library.

"Wait whut!? On second thought I think 'll pass, Mr. Sun Wukong Monkey King sir—

"I don't wanna be chased by whoever ya stoled those books from," Helios saif as he was horrified after hearing the origin of the cultivation technique that Wukong was offering to him, as he panickily declines his offer.

But Wukong reassures him.

"It's okay! They're not gonna go after you, they're gonna go after me, OH HO HO HO!

"What I'll be giving you is a copy of the scroll, a partial copy covering the very basics.

"I won't be giving to you the full version yet unless you want to know its deeper secrets! Oh ho ho ho ho!" Wukong laughingly said as he enjoys teasing Helios worried expression.

"I-I feel like I'm being mugged," Helios said as he puts his palm on his face.

"No worries kid! You'll be fine! Wukong guarantees it!" the Monkey King said with a big grin on his face as he pats Helios on the back really hard.

"I think I'll just go with the copy of the scroll, Mr. Sun Wukong sir," Helios replied to him.

'Screw this guy! I really wanna get out of here pronto!' Helios to himself.

After hearing his response Wukong points his finger at Helios's forehead then a beam of light from Wukong's finger to enters in Helios forehead.

Then Helios' Smartphone rings and he grabs it from his pocket and a notifaction appeared saying, "Cosmic Energy Manual app Trial Version successfully installed!"

Helios was dumbfounded with what he saw, "I THOUGHT YOU WERE GIVING ME A SRCROLL!?

"How the heck did the scroll became an app!?

"No wait, how did I even manage to use my smartphone inside my consciousness!?" Helios asked as he was dearly confused at what was happening.

"Well I did give you the partial Cosmic Energy scroll, I just made it into a form more convenient for your use.

"Why? Did you think just because I'm a mythical being, I wouldn't get in with the times?

"For your information, I go online shopping too, sometimes!"

"Wait, you know online shopping!?" Helios blurted out.

'Now I'm more confused than ever, what kind of world have I been isekai-ed at?' Helios said in his mind.

"Anyway, as I've said earlier, you are not anymore inside your consciousness, the moment you entered that door, you're now inside the Land of Inheritance! As well as your body!

"And clothes,

"And everything you had with you, teehee."

"But more importantly! I have an additional reminder to you,

"When learning that cultivation, do not cultivate here, in the land of inheritance, because there is no cosmic energy present in this plane,

"And also, you must come back here after you fully master the cosmic energy cultivation technique in order to receive my inheritance, got it?"

"Ohkay, got it, Mr. Wukong sir! Wait—

"How do I get back here?"

"Don't worry, just do what you did when first came here, got that?"

After Wukong finishes what he said to Helios, he then grabs Helios's shirt and throws him back into the door that he entered.

The door instantly closes after Helios got out.

'I hope that kid takes much longer time to fully master that cultivation technique so that I can spend more time in cultivation in this sacred land for cultivators' Wukong said in his mind as he returns to the sitting position before Helios arrive then he once again came back to being a statue.

Because of the powerful force of the throw that Wukong did to him, when Helios wakes up in his room, he found himself lying on the floor just outside his bedroom door.

It was a good thing that the couch was made of foam and some light materials.

'The heck!?

'Are all mythical beings so easy going?'

'Good thing the floors in this house are made of wood,' Helios said to himself.

Hearing the loud noise from above, his little sister went to check on him and saw Helios lying on the floor.

"Big brother, are you okay?" Rose Mary asked,

"I-I-I think I'm okay?" Helios said reassuring his sister.

He then stands up and asks his little sister saying,

"How much time have passed since I asked you about my ability, earlier?"

"I think about 20 minutes? The drama I was watching was already over," his sister said while tilting her head.

"I see then, I'm going back to my room to sleep can you please lower the volume?"

Helios said as he pats Rose Mary on the head,

"Owkay," she replied then goes back to reduce the volume and watch some drama.

"Oh right, big brother!

"Mom said that if you don't get the vegetables from the market by 11, she's gonna throw your porn collection!" Rose Mary shouted.

Helios panickily opens his eyes as he lays on his bed, 'NANI!????????????????

'I HAVE PORN COLLECTION??????????'
