7 Weapon Summoner

After his conversation with the big guy, Nate continued his rest to recover from his injuries. While in-game mage had weaker constitutions than other characters but it seemed otherwise in this world. The magic inside their body would constantly reinforce their body making it many times more powerful than an ordinary human. Boosted senses, increased strength and increased healing efficiency of the body was some of the basic advantages.

Nate was happy about his enhanced body as he sat in the lotus position to meditate. Nate had read plenty of web novels and his situation was pretty similar and since he had magic he naturally thought of meditating and absorbing the outside mana into his dantian located in his navel reason or somewhere around there. But to his disappointment, he couldn't do so but he did manage to sense the mana present in the surrounding.

A couple of days past as he rested in the room to recover while he tried to increase his magic power but without anyone to guide him it was pretty much hopeless. But at least the series unfortunate events from that day didn't continue which he was happy about.

Scarlet would come to change his bandage once every day and he would try to flirt but Scarlet seemed immune to his advances and worst of all she didn't even see him as a man and looked at him like a boy going through puberty.

But he couldn't help it as the current body was only 17 years old and he was shorter than most of his peers which made him look younger than he already was. But his appearance was definitely better than his previous life. Black hair, green eyes and cute face which was now ugly due to the wound but according to Scarlet, the wound would be healed by next week.

As Nate was meditating trying to increase his mana the door opened but to his disappointment, it wasn't Scarlet who entered the room but the big guy who saved him. The man didn't waste time as he sat in the tea table beside and took out a book and flipped the pages.

"Hmm, let's see what we have here. Nate Hunter, age 17; parents Theodore Hunter and Audrey Hunter both killed during the defense of Northern border and has yet to awaken magic despite all the efforts made by the parents. Property all confiscated by the country officials and kicked out of the academy." The big guy read the book and looked at Nate with a serious look.

"Since you asked to join us, I took the liberty to check your background. I hope you don't mind but it is surprising that you managed to awaken at the age of 17. Probably the oldest one ever to awaken the magic this late in years. Either way, since you've nothing tying you down I'll give you an offer. Join my group as a full-time employee or you can return to the academy since you managed to awaken" The man looked at Nate with confidence as if he already knew what he was going to choose.

"It seems like you already know what I'll choose. So why bother wasting time," Nate said smiling. He was not surprised by the amount of info the big guy had about him. This was a world of magic very few things were impossible.

"Just wanted to let you know about your options. Since you're just a kid we'll send you to training camp for a year and if you pass we'll let you on the team. If you fail then you'll be sent to a labor camp to repay your debts which will include the fees of training camp." The big guy said as he stood up to leave.

"Any questions you want to ask before I leave." The big guy asked.

"Yes, mm what's the name of the mercenary group?" Nate asked as he wasn't even aware of what kind of group he was joining but seeing how he was kept it shouldn't be any shady group, at least he hoped so.

"We're Crimson Blood group from Legacy Mercenary Guild. My name is Edwin Wood. I'm the vice-captain of the group you'll be joining if you manage to pass." The big guy Edwin replied and waited to see if Nate had more questions.

"That's all I want to know for now Mr. Edwin," Nate replied and continued his rest.

"Good, I'll pick you up in a week so prepare yourself. I'll give you a heads up, the training camp isn't a playground, those who treat it like that are the first one to die." Edwin went out of the room leaving Nate to rest.

A week passed by just like that and Nate still didn't manage to enhance his mana but he did manage to find out more about his abilities. He could summon extra mags for the guns which he was grateful since he didn't have to worry about loading the bullets into the magazine. Other than the mag he could summon attachments of guns such as a red dot, silencer and even extended magazines that held more bullets.

Since he could summon a gun, he tried to summon different things like a smartphone or a laptop but that didn't really work. Nate was devastated by this finding as it was really hard to pass the time. But there was no internet so they wouldn't be that useful anyway. Nate could only shrug his shoulders in defeat.

Besides that, he tried to summon foods, T.V, footfall, game-boy, different types of drinks and foods, different porn magazines and lastly pizza but all failed. But he managed to summon a knife and even a longbow that looked really old like made of wood and string he couldn't identify what it was made from but it was probably used in the 16th or 17th century as he saw in museums.

At least he deduced that he could summon anything that was a weapon and looking at the types of his summons he probably would be able to summon their stronger versions after becoming an advanced mage.

At least he could keep his gun a secret as the people from this world were not familiar to guns and he could surprise them in case of emergency. He would be fine with just bow and arrow for now and also a knife.

As he was admiring the knife the door opened and Nate knew the time had come. He was already dressed in plain white t-shirt and pant with a leather boot. His clothes were torn from the incident and Edwin provided him few changes of clothes a few days later after his talk.

"Let's go, Nate, its time to enter the camp or many would call hell" Edwin came to his room with a smile. Nate looked at the room for one last time and moved out of the room with Edwin. This room was the only place he felt safe after he came to this world so although it was small this room had a special place in his heart.

Getting in the horse brought by Edwin, Nate looked back at the building he stayed. It was a two-story building with a flower shop on the bottom floor. He saw Scarlet arranging the flowers with few sweats on her forehead.

"Sister Scarlet thanks for looking after me this long. I'll come back to repay you in the future." Nate shouted out to Scarlet from the horse. Nate received a light slap in the back of his head from Edwin.

"You brat, you're too young to flirt with my sister. But if you want to be my brother in law, you better work hard because my sister's standard is in the sky." Edwin laughed and bid his sister goodbye.

Nate scratched his head and waved his hands to say goodbye to Scarlet. Scarlet laughed and waved her hands as well and watched her brother and the boy disappear in the horizon.
