3 How to: Isekai

Isekai... Oh Isekai... There just can't be something more stereotype than Isekai... One of the most popular and used tropes on light novels, manga and anime. The famous reincarnation (tensei) or transmigration (Isekai) to another world, usually fantasy like world although there are some unique paths out there.

Surprisingly, isekai is still one of my favorite genres tbh. Despite it being cliche and generic I still like stories with this theme, even the majority of manga that I read is about isekai. But we are not here to talk about my preferences right?

The most used path on isekai stories is the typical fantasy world with a game-like system. The MC is usually some corporate slave who gets reborn in another world and gets a cheat from some random goddess who reincarnated him for bullshit reasons. He doesn't have common sense and always wins his battles with little to no difficulty and obviously he would have a generic harem with generic girls that falls in love with him for no apparent reason besides him being "good person".

My advice is... Improvise and be creative! Why it must be a fantasy world? Why not a futuristic world with aliens and advanced technology? Why not a super-hero world? And why the MC must always be a human? Why not a dragon, slime, or even spider?

There is a lot of isekai stories that have sucessfully escaped from the cliche and managed to become popular novels! And the sole reason being the fact that they were unique.

A few of my favorite isekais would've been: Tensei shitara slime, Gate, Nidome no yusha, The Devil is a part timer, Kumo desu ka?, Shield hero, Revered Insanity... And there is a lot more, so much that I forgot hehe...
