42 The Dark Side Of Wei

Although he had seen Shen Wei mad before, especially when they travel to the River Village, he had never been scare of him, not even when he open the gate of hell, because he knew that even then, Shen Wei was in full control of his actions.

However this time he actually feared the power of his lover when unrestrained, because as he screamed his heart out, a sudden blast of dark energy send them crushing against the wall and almost destroyed the whole level, if Zillah had not use his time shield to lessen the destruction and Rong his fire to spare them from becoming living popsicles, as the tunnel they were in froze over in seconds, forming big ice crystals all around it, with a strong gale that decreased the temperature in record time.

"Shen Wei!" Zhao yelled, not minding the pain on his back for hitting the stone wall with force and saw his gentle professor becoming a different kind of Ghost Slayer, because his energy felt even darker than never before as he stood up. Zhao stood too and try to touch him, despite the freezing cold emanating from him, but a kind of static electric charge as well as a wave of dark energy push him backwards once again, although this time he was spare from hitting the wall.

"Don't come closer, Zhao Yunlan…" A deeper voice than what he was used to hear said to him, involuntarily making him shudder and not exactly for the intense cold.

"Oh, this is bad… he is going to lose it…" Da Qing whisper under his breath as the floor begin to shake under his feet, making him stumble with Lin, who stumble with Zhu and so on. Then, Chu moved to use his treads to restrain the Ghost Slayer, as he was beginning to walk away.

"Do you truly believe that will restrain me, Old Chu?" The Ghost Slayer said, turning to look at him. As he did so, the thick dark smoke covering his face cleared and they all were shocked as to see Shen Wei with long hair and deep red eyes. "Don't make me harm you, because you are not the one I want to destroy, let go." The Ghost Slayer said and Chu was actually at a loss, not really knowing what to do next, because this Shen Wei was way too dark and powerful. Just standing behind him was hard enough, because the dark energy he was releasing in waves was overwhelming. Luckily for him, Zhao put a hand over his shoulder.

"Do as he said, I will take care of this…" Zhao told him, as both Zillah and Rong frowned. They were already busy sustaining their respective barriers. If Zillah were to undo his time barrier, the whole place would collapse over them and Rong's fire barrier were keeping them from confronting the minus zero temperature outside his fire bubble.

"Yunlan, not even you will stop me from going down. I will make those who kill Ye Zun pay their deserved price…" The Ghost Slayer said, not even showing a sing of hesitation in front of his lover. Still, Zhao simply smiled at his darker side, because as he remember more things from their past, he realize that his Ghost Slayer was still holding back.

"I never said I was going to stop you, go ahead and crush this whole place down if you wish it." He said, making his team panic.

"Chief Zhao that's not a good suggestion, right now…" Lin dared to say.

"I was no different when Ye Zun stab him long ago, so who am I to stop him? Actually, I did it far worse… but that was when he was a step closer to turn into ashes… Remember, Shen Wei? You were going to turn into ashes because you were a ghost that will disappear without trace, never able to return. I have to give you my heart to make you a half god and keep you from dying. You are such a smart guy, then tell me Shen Wei, did the same thing happen to Ye Zun? Did he turned into ashes, so the idiots below can't use him against you or even me?" Rong sighed a bit relived, as he knew what Zhao Yunlan was trying to do.

"I…" He finally hesitate. He could recognize those in front of him and he knew they mean something for him, yet his emotions were clouded, as soon as he felt Ye Zun gone. The only emotion that was left was rage, which was his primordial one since he was created, only he chose to repress it almost from the start.

"Babe, I know you are beyond mad right now. I would be too in your position, but just think about it. They got the sundial, but no one to offer their lives to revive him. Does that make any sense to you? I mean, making you go out of control as soon as you enter hell can only make things worse for them… even I was scare of you for a second, so…" As the word scare echos insude Shen Wei's mind, hitting him like a thousands of hard slaps, making him wake up from his emotionless state, he turned back to his old self and came to tightly hug Zhao, as if his life depend of it. His body was no longer freezing cold, nor his eyes red with rage. There was only remorse left behind.

"I'm sorry Yunlan… I'm so sorry… Please forgive me…" Shen whisper, as Zhao rubbed his back to comfort him.

"I understand Xiao Wei… if something were to happen to you again, I will lose it completely as well. Just trust me this time, Ye Zun is not dead. They knew we were coming, so someone must be hiding his energy from you, but they can't afford to kill him. He is more useful to them alive, even if barely." He said, relived Shen was still easy to reason with.

"Are you hurt? Let me…" Zhao simply stop him, holing his remorseful and beautiful face in his hands.

"It's okay, Wei… in fact, it's a good thing you went on rampage for a minute. We can actually use it to our advantage." Shen looked at him a bit confused.

"Did you hit your head that badly?" Shen asked worriedly, as he put a hand on the back of his to check, making both Zhao and Da Qing laugh.

"His head is too hard to crack…" The human cat said under his breath.

"I actually agree on that…" Zhu added, making Zillah role his eyes in annoyance. The whole bunch was hopeless.

"Explain yourself, Zhao Yunlan. What do you mean by that?" Zillah asked.

"I'm sure they already know Shen lose it, because to be honest, this whole level is done for after you release your time shield."

"Well, yes." Zillah agree.

"Then, let them believe he is still on a rampage. A mad Ghost Slayer should be easier to manipulate and without his lover to stop him even more so."

"I guess, so?" Zillah asked, still not following his line of thinking.

"Can you conceal our presence completely Zillah?" Zhao asked the blond god.

"Of course, I am a full god after all." He proudly said.

"Then that's great! I have just the plan that will turn things around to our advantage. However, you two most be able to fully conceal our presence from the goddess, I'm sure is waiting for us." Zhao said, looking at Rong.

"Yeah, yeah... It was all my mess up. She is a stunning beauty, just like your ghost, so leave her to me and I will take care of her."

"Can I trust you on that?" Zhao asked a bit unconvinced.

"Of that, I will make sure. I promise Lady Yue I will keep her little ghost safe in her place, as she couldn't be here because of her bonding with the human realm." Zillah reassured him.

"Alright then..." Zhao agree.

"Hey! I can be trustworthy too..." Rong protested.

"..." No one reply.

"Be quiet Rong, this is all your fault." Zillah added.

"Zhao, just what crazy thing are you planning?" Shen asked a bit worried.

"One that will bring this all to an end." Zhao said, coming closer to him. "But Wei... You need to be very convincing, otherwise, they will win and the game will be over." He said, deeply looking at him.

"Yunlan, just what do you want me to do?" Wei asked, a bit afraid of the answer.

"It's quite simple. You only need to kill me." It was a good thing that Rong still have his fire bubble covering them, because the temperature outside it, lower even more, as Shen Wei held Yunlan shirt to pull him closer, in anger.

"Don't play with me. I will die before doing such a thing." Shen said, as his dark energy raised again.

"Ah, babe don't get me wrong. I'm not asking you to do it for real, I can be quite the actor when in need, the question is, can you? Can you truly pretend to kill me and convince them you did it accidentally when on a rampage?" Zhao ask him, which make him sigh in relief.

"Yes... I saw you die once, remember?" He referred to the time Kunlun give up his life to save him and enter the reincarnation system.

"Sorry to ask you this, but can you relived it for a little while?" Zhao came even closer.

"If I must, yes..." Then Zhao kiss him without warning making Wei blush like mad. It was a good thing the lady fox was not there to witness such shameless display, otherwise, she may had been tempted to kill him on the spot.

"Yunlan..." Shen whisper over his lips as he tried to push him off, but Zhao simply hold the back of his head.

"Bite me... I need to show... some blood..." Relived he had at least a reason, Shen did as he was told, bitting his lower lip, however a bit more than was necessary, for the embarrassment. Yunlan let him go instantly, with a bleeding lip.

"Babe... You didn't had to do it so hard..." Da Qing, Lin, Zhu and even old Chu laughed.

"Serves you right, that was truly shameless. I honestly don't know how you keep up with him." Rong said to Shen.

"It's called true love, find one..." Zhao defy him.

"Please Yunlan..." Shen pleaded.

"Alright, this is the plan..." Zhao begin to explain it to the little group, telling each of them their task and role in the coming play.

"Now Zillah, knock me out and make me a living dead." Zillah smiled, quite content.

"With pleasure..." He said and soon, Zhao was been carried on the arms of a very piss off Ghost Slayer, right at the entrance of GongGong's cave.

"You came..." A voice said inside Shen Wei's head and he prepare himself for his biggest performance yet. So he devilishly smiled.

"Of course, how else can I save the one I kill with my own hands? Give me the sundial and I will bow to you... father..." He said before hearing a deep laugh which seems to come from everywhere at once. Then a woman appeared out of nowhere and have a look at Yunlan. He looked pale and with blood on his mouth. Still, as she wasn't convince, she put a finger on his neck, finding no pulse.

"He seems dead." She said.

"We'll see about that... you can not fool me that easily." And an invisible force sent Shen Wei toward a demon statue, in which he was chained, while Zhao Yunlan was left behind at the border of the rainbow shining oval that keep GongGong trapped. A second later, a man with black wings and purple hair appeared by Zhao's side and stab him right on his heart.

"Nnnnnnooooooo! Yunlaaaann!" Shen screamed with even more desperation than before, as his lover lie dead on the ground.
