What Name Should I Give You?

POV: Closed meeting of the World Council (conversation of people whose appearance is not important)

A closed meeting of the World Council was held in a large, elegant room with a domed ceiling. Dozens of people sat at a round table and decided the fate of humanity. At the extreme, these people thought that they were deciding the fate of humanity.

"He did it again! This creature, after learning to talk, considers itself outside the law and does what it wants," said one man, sitting here.

"We have to admit that he was useful in the beginning. His territorial wars with the Kaiju helped calm the people down. But now..." said another person.

"I think he considers the whole planet his territory. He goes where he wants."

"Already the second laboratory was destroyed. We lost billions of dollars."

"He considers himself the alpha, so he hunts clones. This cannot go on! Why do we tolerate him?"

"He is supported by the Marshal and part of society. And this reporter on his island supports his image."

"Just to think that we are fighting for the support of people with a dumb animal!"

"Indeed, these are strange times. We cannot allow an animal to rule."

"But the situation we are in complicates everything. Kaiju attacks become more frequent. We don't know what will happen in a few years when the Kaiju will be attacked every week."

"That is why we are building a wall. We will lose the Pacific no matter how hard we fight. This territory will belong to the Kaiju." There were many people and many voices, but these words were said by a beautiful woman of European appearance. She had long black hair and unique light blue eyes.

"Many of us doubt that it will work. It is not known what Kaiju will appear in the future. Especially after the appearance of Level 7 Kaiju!" One of the people with dark skin expressed doubts about the "Wall of Life" project.

"You're forgetting that the fights between the Jaegers and the Kaiju take place next to the cities, and 9 times out of 10 the Kaiju manage to damage the city. If the cities were behind the wall, this wouldn't happen." the blue eyed woman continued.

"Yes, you're right, but then what about the Marshal. We thought about defunding him completely after a year, but his new technology has made the Jaegers too effective and people are supporting him again."

"It won't matter a year from now. Kaiju will appear every week, and no matter how many Jaegers we have, we won't be able to repair them that fast. This project is hopeless. Without the wall, Kaiju will spread all over the world. That's why we need clones of these animal so-called Torterra. It's a shame the first one was so aggressive, but we'll learn to control them," the blue eyed woman continued. She was not the author of the "Wall of Life" idea, but she diligently convinced everyone of its effectiveness.

"That's why we come back to the question of Torterra. What are we going to do with him? We can't control him and his intelligence brings a lot of problems."

"We can't just openly attack him. We need a reason, because many people see him as a hero."

"Are you saying that him attacking our labs and letting a level 7 Kaiju into the city isn't enough to eliminate him?"

"Yes. It's not enough for the public."

"Our analysts say he's becoming more brash and confident in his actions. He's giving orders to other Jaegers and running a business. Sooner or later he'll do something that will give us the right to kill him in front of people, and no one will stand up for him ."

"For that we need to do something already. We need to push him to do it. But even if he does something like that, how do we eliminate him?"

"We have a solution," the blue eyed woman said. She smiled lightly and placed her hands on the table, pressing a few buttons. A hologram appeared in the center of the round table, which depicted the figure of one of the new Jaegers.

"It's just another Jaeger. The Marshal is carefully selecting pilots for them and it's unlikely that the pilots will want to attack Torterra."

"This Jaeger is not one of the ones the Marshal possesses. This is our Jaeger!" answered the blue eyed woman.

"WHAT?! How dare you make Jaegers by yourself. It's forbidden. You want to cause a war between us?" People in the hall were outraged. It was very important that the Jaeger project was not owned by any of the countries and that it was a completely autonomous organization without the influence of politics. This was done to prevent possible wars between countries.

"Calm down. We've only done a few Jaegers, just to eliminate Torterra. We've known for a long time that he'd be in our way. If that makes you feel at ease, you can choose your pilots. Without pilots, the Jaeger is just scrap metal. Whose pilot , and Jaeger!" These words calmed the people at the table. They thought everything over and consulted among themselves.

"Alright, but we also want to have our people in leadership positions at the factories where you made those Jaegers."

POV: Torerra

On the shoulders of the giant monster was a huge skeleton. A monster roamed the jungles of China and terrified everyone who saw him and what he wore. The people around prayed that he would not pass through their land. If it passes through your field, you will lose a large part of your harvest.

"So what should I call you? Buddy? Brody?" Torterra was thinking of a name for the tortoise he found in the lab. He mentally turned to the animal, waiting for an answer.

Torterra was followed by a large tortoise, 10 meters high. It moved its feet skillfully and quickly to keep up with Torterra.

"Wait! Are you a girl or a boy?" Torterra stopped and turned to the turtle and looked at him. The tortoise also stopped and lifted its head up and they met their eyes. They looked at each other and Torterra growled lightly at it for a response.

"Girl means! Then you need a girl's name. Nancy? Gertrude? What? Don't like them? Me too. HA-HA-HA!" The tortoise could not actually speak, but on a primitive level it could understand what was being said to it. It was similar to Torterra's conversation with his clone, but much more primitive. The clone was a full Titan, but this turtle was not. There was something of a Titan in this turtle, but not enough to be called one.

Torterra continued on his way and the turtle followed him as before. Walking, the tortoise was constantly chewing something, and wherever it passed, you could see trees that were missing leaves.

"And what about Ruby? Sounds good. So it's settled! You're called Ruby from now on!" The Titan didn't really stress about such matters. Without thinking long, he remembered several names and take of the best of them. He didn't even turn to Ruby and ask her opinion. He had already decided everything, why was it necessary to ask?

POV: Ruby

Ruby chewed leaves and looked at the back of her new master or friend. She spent her whole life in the room and was shocked when she was brought to the surface. She didn't even know there was anything beyond the room she lived in.

At first she was afraid to see such a terrible creature that pulled her out, but once she got to the surface, her fear disappeared. The fresh air and many different plants around made her forget about the giant. Another thing that surprised her was that she could understand what was in this giant's heart, and he understood her heart.

She had previously been able to associate the sounds the two-legged creatures made with actions and objects, but it was difficult. And with this giant she could exchange understanding of things.

She understood the concept of a name now and remembered that the humans had called her "Baby" but now the giant had given her some other name, though she didn't understand what. The giant did not speak like humans, and the exchange of understanding did not convey complicated words that had no meaning.

One way or another, she went with the giant because she was given no choice and because she wanted to. Walking was much better than sitting in a room. But going up and down the mountains was very difficult. Ruby was big enough to ignore the trees and fell them, but going up and down the mountain was too much trouble. Sometimes the giant would simply pick up Ruby with one hand and carry her across difficult sections of the road.

Ruby and the giant walked along the path the giant had left earlier. The path was winding and difficult. Ruby didn't understand why we were walking through the trees when there was a flat field in front of us. But she did not complain, because the trees were delicious. Especially fruit trees.
