ONWARDS!

After that event a couple days ago, I've been mostly doing my own thing. Peter has been really busy. I've been keeping an eye out for any more anti-mutant extreme activities. My website has quickly grown to be one of the most popular storefronts on the current market. With its downloadable app launcher and tools it was quickly taking the forefront. I had to filter out emails from other storefronts who extremely disliked my own. I was quickly making a ton of buy value. I had already reached thirteen million buy value. Added onto what I had already initially made. I had achieved almost thirty million buy value in just a few days. Plus my website was growing. The website was released by the system worldwide, so the more visits it garners the more it will show up on search engines and other things. So the exponential growth is real and constant. Plus with more people starting to run through the setup I was gaining more and more traffic. I got really lucky that I was in a unique position making it where the other game purchase sites can't actually restrict my activities.

One of the many projects I undertook during this time period was SFM. I had purchased the Cutscene maker perk with 5,000 GV. Which was stupidly expensive compared to everything else. Using it and a bit of effort I was able to very quickly remaster all the current scenes I had, massively increasing the quality. Thanks to my triple A style games I was very quickly dragging more traffic into my website due to the impressions left from youtubers and gamers. As such I had to figure out what to do next. Then I thought about it, what could massively change lives if someone didn't want to be a youtuber, but still wanted the chance of making money from games.

As such I started to get ready for one of the first official tournaments of Halo. Yeah, Esports. A speedrunning community already existed, and so do competitive teams. But there weren't any tournaments with real cash prizes. So I posted an announcement after I finished the newest anti-cheat and started an invitational tournament that would form the top teams, with a prize pool of five million dollars for the victor, and a substantial amount of money for competitors. It would be a reliable career for most. There are a maximum of 24 teams competing in the event and this would likely change many lives. The butterfly effect from this is likely going to affect quite a few people. My interference has already caused some strange things to happen. Course I say that but I have no idea if that is the case. I haven't been chased by the time police yet so there is that. Heh, who knows, I could just be an ordinary person living their life peacefully.

I burst out laughing.

"You seem to be in a good mood Eric."

"Was just thinking about something funny Mr. Smith."

"Mind sharing?"

"Hmm. Sure. Ever think your life was boring and mundane, and then just realize that thinking that way is extremely stupid?"

"Going to need a few more details than that."

"Well, let's put my own life in perspective. I am working odd jobs on the internet and make a decent amount of money. I could probably live pretty comfortably in my new apartment for a long time. It would be pretty basic but it would work. For most that would be considered a normal life. Then you consider the background. I'm a person from another world in a world filled with super human entities, aliens, and gods. Pretty big change."

"I see. Hmm. Well if you're feeling bored maybe you can join us for paintball."

Hmm? "I'm listening."

"A couple of friends and I are planning on doing a paintball game soon. Wondering if you want to join."

"I'd like to. Sounds like fun."

A while later I was talking with Peter.

"I don't know what to do."

"Hmm? What's up."

"Have you heard of Kingpin?"

Ah. That guy. "Shouldn't you be focused on the extremists first?"

"Kind of hard to do that. They are hidden hard. Especially after we released what we found. At least we got rid of their alliance with Oscorp."

I shrugged, I'd have to track them down on my own I guess. "I suppose. So what's up with Kingpin?"

"He's a crook. He's been harassing the people in the old apartment buildings and is one of the biggest drug traders in the city. But there are no traces to him!"

"Well, Kingpin is known as the biggest honcho in the city. The person in charge. The one who keeps order in the city."

"What?" He looks really confused.

I sigh, "If you intend to go after him, you have to be prepared. Kingpin is ruthless and authoritarian. You screw with him and almost the entire city will suddenly be against you. He's got that much power, politically and otherwise. He prevents other crimelords from making obvious moves, and any other group has to be careful when making moves in the city. He even went after the extremists after they were discovered because they challenged his authority. Removing him will cause a massive power vacuum. Which will cause gang wars and other things. If you think things are pretty bad now, they will get worse."

He lets out a frustrated voice. "So you're saying I should just let him go! Let him keep hurting people?!"

I shake my head, "Nope, I'm saying you need to be ready. If you intend to go after him I believe it won't take longer before you beat him. First thing I would do is get an alliance going with a large group of people with a similar mindset. Then start removing ways that gangs can actually get into the city illegally. Once that is done you can start to make the advanced moves to remove them from the city. Sending their members to jail and changing yourself to become the new power in the midst of the vacuum. You have to make people realize if they want to do what the gangs did they would have to get around you. Which should be fairly difficult. Once that is done, you can take the evidence you gathered in the meantime and take Kingpin off his high horse. Course this is all easier said than done."

"So… you're saying to start from the bottom instead of starting at the top? Wouldn't that be more difficult?"

"Of course, but sometimes the more difficult way is the better way of doing things. This would cause the least amount of chaos, death, and more." I glance off in the distance. "By the way, if you want to go be a hero take a look at that." I point at the plumes of smoke that just started appearing in the distance."

He then jumps off the roof. "Talk to you later!"

Haah… Going after Kingpin at the beginning never ends well in any of the stories I've read. If he really intends to go there, I'm going to have to do some research and figure out how to help. I have a ton of point values, so I can probably do some things and help. Cause I believe he will likely ignore my advice and go on after Kingpin. So prep work will be needed. I suspect I have a month or less till Kingpin goes to jail. I wonder… I'm part of a gaming system. I make games, I can easily make a game that allows you to control a character in real life. Course it would mostly be a robot. But still, I could get a group together to work on protecting the city. This is a dangerous method because someone could go crazy with it. But the system can likely assist me in finding heroic individuals. Hmm. I should spend some points to upgrade the system's space time dilation. Allowing me to do more games at once. How many points should I spend on it? Hmm… It costs BV to do it. But it will massively increase my game production. I'll do that. As well as starting to spread and strengthen the gaming industry. I've been holding back slightly, not intentionally, but I knew if I spread too quickly I'd have troubles with agencies such as S.H.I.E.L.D.
