15 Drastic Events and Escalation!

[This isn't this weeks official chapter, but it does showcase events leading up the next chapter.

I wasn't happy, my identity got leaked. I almost got mobbed when I went to the homeless shelter. Yeah, my face was all over the news in less than a day. It only took a moment to trace the culprit. Tony Stark, yeah, real annoying move. I'm unsure why, but all my evidence leads to him. I'd like for that not to be the case though, Regardless I had to leave after a sniper bullet impacted my shield right next to my skull. I ruptured my eardrum at the time. So I disappeared into my facilities.

I wasn't going to be leaving anytime soon, call me a coward if you like, but that was close. I had only just bought that shield after the event with Nick Fury. If I had purchased Halo's Energy Shield instead of an upgraded Mass Effect shield I would have been dead in that instance. Because that was a freaking anti-tank sniper. I needed something to distract me, something to calm down with… I looked at my frankly abysmal points, I had gone on a spending spree when I returned to get things that made me feel safe, regeneration, secondary brain, resilience, Gamer System, and that sort of thing. So I was now broke. The good thing is that if that happened again and my shield broke I would actually survive now.

I opened up the Minecraft game… and began to program it. Accelerating the release of a full dive VR game is going to be rough, but I need to cheat, today it is a bullet to the skull, tomorrow it is a fist of god to the face. I began to type, and fully prep the game for full release.

—Tony Stark.

I grabbed my hair, I had found out who saved me, and I had started to arrange things to make it easier for them. An attempt to improve relations so to speak so we could get together and discuss things, and maybe thank him for his help. But now, I am upset.

"Rhode's that was a massive breach of privacy! Do you know how much danger you put them in!"

"Tony, it wasn't intentional! How was I supposed to know? I was just trying to get people's minds off of that screw up on saturday!"

"I didn't care about that! I could have dealt with that eventually, you just put someone's life in danger by releasing that information! What the hell was going through your mind that you just publicized someone's private information?!"

"I'm sorry, I didn't know how much it meant to you-"

I am distracted in an instant as something pops onto the T.V. "JARVIS, turn the T.V. up."

"The CEO of Guardian'sLureStudios was almost assinated when they went to assist at a Shelter earlier today, and has shortly gone into hiding, no one knows where they are and no one can get in contact with them." I saw blood leaking out of the man's ears when he disappeared from existence. I look back at Rhodes.

"Get. Out."

He looks back at the T.V. as well, his face going completely pale. "I didn't mean for that to happen!"

"Get out of my house, now." He then started to leave.

"I am sorry Tony, I didn't know this would happen."

— Peter Parker, Spiderman.

I almost killed the guy that tried to kill Eric, he called himself Deadshot. I beat him within an inch of his life, I had no idea how much Eric's existence had impacted me. He was there, like a big brother you could always trust to help you. When I decided to go after Fisk despite him disagreeing with the idea, he still helped me, coordinated my efforts, and found everything he could to help me. Not to mention he saved my life and many others with the medical technology he added to my suit, and the suit itself.

I would have killed Deadshot, if my suit didn't actually stop me, with a short message from Eric telling me to calm down, that whoever it was, wasn't worth it. Heh, been playing that on repeat.

"Hey Peter, calm down. I know you're probably upset at whoever you're punching into the ground. But remember, THINK. Calm down, and think."

This would make me upset, but it did snap me out of my rage. The impact of killing Deadshot wasn't worth the effort. Deadshot was shortly arrested and sent to the hospital and I went home… I wasn't doing well. Eric wasn't picking up his phone.

— Nick Fury

I looked over what happened for the tenth time. This is bad, there is no telling what Eric will do to retaliate, and if my guesses on his technology is accurate, it's not going to be small. I had already ordered S.H.I.E.L.D. to figure out who is behind the attack. It was not going well. But we needed to trace down WHO, before Eric returned.
