"Who you?" The guy lost his pleading tone in stead trying to sound threatening..
-
"I am just picking up my bike.. who are you?" Keith was a bit confused as he was just going to get his bike back and didn't expect someone to be outside of benny's shop.
"You know my boy Benny?" Keith just nodded, now standing before the entrance to Benny's
"AIgh.. Ai yo Benny, there is a customer here for his bike!" The guy shouted trying to make Benny open the door.
Just as predicted a couple second later Benny opened his garage doors, standing before the two at the entrance..
"Lamar.." his voice wasn't as upbeat as it was when Keith first entered the store, clearly being tired of the antics..
"Ye listen.." Benny ignored Lamar and instead showed the motor..
Keith entered as Benny showed him the repainted motor, having its original colour back after removing the red cote..
"Great work…." Keith wanted to complement Benny a bit more but Lamar interrupted
"Sheech… that your ride.. you must be rich then aye?" Lamar got on Keith's nerves as he touched the position that was just back to its original state..
"I work with professionals.. now, if you could?" Keith tried to keep friendly as he was still in a car shop from someone else..
"Ye, of course dog.." Lamar stepped away from the bike moving his attention to Benny..
"So benny, I really need some funds.. something big happening but you know that the family is sceptical of me.."
Keith just ignored the two as he pout on his helmet and got the Motor started, readying himself to leave as benny just gave, short answers to whatever Lamar said..
..
Keith decided to go to his Office as his home would most probably be under watch, even if the higherups didn't do anything some lower members of the lost could try and attack his house, he was pretty confident in the locks but if they knew he was there than it would be a simple game of waiting until he had to come out..
His phone began to ring just as he arrived at his floor, looking at the caller id and seeing that it was Franklin he picked up and heard his voice over the phone.
["Keith, how is it going.. listen.. I just called Michael and turns out he and Trevor are in hiding out near the alimony sea for a bit until it cools down, and with Devon still out on that business trip of his.. I.. I was just wondering if you had something we could do?"]
Keith pondered the question for a second and asked
"Want to do some sports, maybe the extreme kind?" Keith suggested the first thing that came to mind.
He hadn't done any real sports other than a run with a crazy chick so he was in to do something.
["You sound just like Dom.. you also looking for that adrenalin?"]
"No, more just something fun to do.." Franklin let out a bit of a chuckle at the other end of the phone.
["What do you think of doing some exercise then.."]
"I got it.. there will be a triathlon at Vespucci, starts tomorrow morning, we can compete and winner gets to decide what we do that day.. what do you think?"
["Can't we do something more simple.. like darts or something?"]
"Nonsense.. exercise will be good for you, and for me.." Keith stretched his arm a bit.
A sigh was heard from the other side of the phone [*sigh* "Fine ill meet you there.."]
Pouting his phone back into his pocket Keith walks to the bathroom to get a quick cold shower and go to sleep.. as tomorrow morning will be a challenge.
-
"Franklin you're here!"
Keith was waiting for Franklin to arrive, the starting point of the race was near LSIA and because it was quite a while away from his office Keith left early, causing him to be among the first to arrive. Franklin on the other hand had only arrived as the last participant, being just on time wearing some sportswear..
"How you doing Keith?" Franklin greeted him while signing his name one the registration paper..
"As good as one can be.. how about you?" Keith doubted that Franklin would be wearing the same outfit as the water would make it heavy and make it difficult to progress.
"I slept through my alarm.. but other than that al is good.." Franklin finished signing the paper..
"Will you be wearing that or do yo have a different outfit?" Keith pointed to what Franklin was wearing..
"What is wrong with my clothes.. they are good for running aren't they?" Franklin looked down upon his clothing examining them to see if something was wrong.
"Nothing but they aren't really suited, if you want I can get you a spare of mine.. you can also lent one from the organisers, they usually have some spars.."
"If you don't mind me borrowing yours than that would be great man.." Franklin agreed on Keiths over and changed his outfit into a black short cut swimsuit, with some swimming shoes also suited for running..
Keith almost burst out laughing when he saw how awkward Franklin looked in it as while the swimsuit did fit him, his face didn't seem happy with it..
"Don't.." Franklin moved to the starting line ignoring Keith as he walked by.
Keith also got in position and started doing some stretches, he hadn't particularly warmed up, but how warm could he get if the first obstacle was the cold water..
Some of the other contestants started to boast and brag, some with unhealthy habits and others with how long they could run, without drinking any water..
A chopper flew over documenting the triathlon for viewers to enjoy the nine contestants working their bodies to their limit..
"Ready.. Set… GOO!" Keith wasted no time waiting and entered the sea in fifth place..
Keith didn't know in what position Franklin was as he passed into fourth place matching the speed of the ones in the lead, as this was as much of endurance as it was speed..
Moving onto the last checkpoint of the swimming Keith got out of the water and looked ahead, towards the bikes, seeing one person already on one and another one others close behind, missing the third guy Keith looked back also trying to check on Franklin while he saw what competition he had left..
Some guys were really struggling with the swimming looking to have cramps from not doing a proper warm up.
Arriving at the bikes Keith took the closest one and started pedalling, seeing Franklin just reach the shore, with him being quick to get one of the bikes as well and entering fourth place.
Keith was making his legs work as he biked on the main road, now emptied for the triathlon, the second place guy was right before him and the guy in first place was just a couple of meters ahead seemingly barley keeping up the speed.
Looking back as he was making a turn Keith sees Franklin struggling seemingly pushing himself.
Turning another corner this time taking the chance to reach second place as the previous owner made large turns, allowing him to pass on the inside..
The race was coming to an end as they reached the last stretch, the run.. first place was ten meters ahead of Keith but seemed to have slowed down after the bikes..
Keith managed to enter first place as he, the guy he passed on the bikes and Franklin had passed the previous first place.
Keith dropped his pace a bit to get next to Franklin to talk to him.. letting the guy in second place reach first.
"How you holding up.." Keith sounded fine as if he wasn't running a after doing the two other tasks..
"Mann.. this.. was the.. worst.. idea.. I have.. ever agreed to!" Franklin sounded out of breath but determined to continue as he didn't slow his pace.
Turning the last corned Keith sees the guy in first place collapse seeming as though his legs felt out on him..
"This is your chance Franklin.. Do it!" Franklin made a final sprint motivated by his words and finishing in first place, and heaving his head low to let him breath..
"Good job.. so what do you want to do for the rest of the day?" Keith stood next to Franklin who seemed exhausted..
"Why. Did you.. let me. Win?" franklins words were separated by deep breaths as he tried to get oxygen into his system.
"Well.. you agreed to do this and seeing on how much you pooched yourself.. I just felt that you deserved it.. So what are we dong for the rest of the day?" Keith padded Franklin on the back..
"How does.. golf sound?" Franklins stamina was already back to full
"Sure, I'll pay as it was my idea to do a activity.."
"You sure.. I don't lack money like before you know?"
"Na.. its fine.. you will pay for food though." Keith just smiled as he called a cap to come pick them up and bring them back to their own car..
- -
"You ever done this before?" Keith looked at Franklin, now wearing a white polo with some beige shorts
"Mini golf when I was young but, never really had the money to go to this place you know…" Franklin explained as he got into the Caddy, in which Keith already sat.
"It isn't the most difficult.. just line up your shots and hit the ball hard.. I would give you lessons but I suck at playing so you shouldn't expect much.." Franklin just laughed while they headed to the first hole..
Arriving at the first hole Keith pouts his ball on its little pedestal on the ground and gets into a convertible stance..
"So.. first you need to get into a stance.. you know bend your knees a little and line up your club with the ball.. then bring the club to the sky and swing with your shoulders not just your arms.. you get all of that?" Keith looked up at Franklin as he wasn't really paying attention to him, but more so to the different clubs they got from the club..
"Ye-ye.. I got it.." Franklin looked up and met Keiths serious face, immediately confirming that he understood..
Keith made two practice swings before he attempted to drive the ball to the hole.. As Keith hit the ball the force of his swing launched in forward at a angle Keith didn't want, but luckily wind was blowing and got it back on track.. completely missing the hole and landing in the sand behind it..
"Fuck… your turn Franklin…" Keith wanted to throw the club but it was a rental and clubs would be very difficult with the fines and possible ban he would receive if he did..
Franklin got into position and did as Keith had instructed stricken the ball at such an angle that the wind carried It right into the end zone..
"What is this bullshit.. with your, I only did a little but of mini golf.." Keith was surprised and then got upset.. remembering why he didn't particularly like golf..
"Hehe.. I am just lucky I guess.." Franklin played it off
In the next couple of round Franklin managed to beat Keith almost every round with at least one point, seemingly being a natural who could see the field and where his ball would land, which someone could only get by countless hours practised.
At the end of the day Keith had 53 while Franklin had 42 beating him with 11 points was Franklin who had six more shots that the regular parr of the course..
"You know I will just go home.. I need to rest…" Franklin just smiled..
"What, can't handle your loss, and what of the food I would pay for?" Keith just grimaced
"Its not that I lost it is just that I played horribly.. I will probably not return here again until I have proved myself.." Franklin just laughed as Keith joined, finding his own scenario to be funny..
"Sure man, just keep believing in yourself.. call me when you have proved yourself.. or if you are up to do something else.."
