Curse: The origins of the curse is temporarily unknown, all that is known of the curse is that it starts off with a small part of the inflicted's body and slowly expands everyday. The only known "cure" is sending two people to travel into the holy city, Willow City, to beg the goddess for amnesty, who would lift the curse. However, this mercy only lasts till next year. The curse affects all who lives in the village. People have tried living elsewhere, but due to the reputation of the curse and the unknown dangers, the villagers are turned down.

Village: Located on the plains, surrounded by mountains and a forest. The village itself is quite the enigma. No one knows why their ancestors settled in such an isolated area, only the occasional trading with other communities. Nor do they know the origin of the curse. They simply pick out two people who are considered expendable to the village to send them out. The village has no powerful or even mediocre magic users. Nearly all magic users in the village could only prove their existence by showing a few tricks, like freezing a pebble or blowing some small wind. Due to a lack of resources and magic poweress, no one is willing to lend a hand to a village with no backing.

Magic: It exists! Like strength or agility, there's no precise measurement, people can be strong in different areas, depending on how they train it. Though, training the wrong way may hurt the user instead, so weak magic users who do not know how to use magic well tend to not train due to not knowing the proper way. Thus, remaining weak at magic. Magic and element affinity is hereditary, meaning that if one has the bloodline of a mage, then they are able to use magic, but the chances decrease as the bloodline becomes diluted with nonmages.

Cast:

Mara: A chestnut haired sixteen year old girl, her hair reaches to her waist and she often wears green and black to match her piercing green eyes. Mara was chosen as one of the "heroes" as she was the most suitable as a child with no parents. And with her fiery temperment and easy to anger personality, she is unliked in her community. In contrary to her hotheadedness, she is a weak ice mage, she can only freeze little things then size of her fist and can making the air around her slightly colder. She has her right pinky toe turned to wood.

Leni: A ten year old little boy with fluffy raven hair, with his short and small stature, he looks like a lost chick 60% of the time. The other 40% is looking sleepy. Yes, he is a very sleepy child, but nevertheless pretty intelligent and sensible. Making people think he looks cute for acting serious. Due to Mara being the only acceptable "hero" in the village, Leni was adopted by one of the elders a few weeks before the annual curse to be one of the chosen. He was unaware of the curse until he woke up with his right pinky frozen to wood. He is a light mage, only he knows how powerful he is. But, everyone, but Mara, considers him weak.
