57 Chapter 57: To Luna Meridiana Part 1

A cool, wet wind blew from the north and east, and against the western mountains piled stormclouds. The sky hung low and dark and menacing over the Face of God. The rains were coming.

Trals's lips parted. His eyes narrowed. He allowed himself a moment to smirk at the thunderheads before he schooled his features, took in a great lungful of fragrant air, and turned to confront the Sayer of the Uppalitch Ethlek.

"Mree," Sayer Shra hissed, her white eyes bulging, "tell me what you see. So I don't have to trust this man." Her withered hands clawed at the sleeve of her daughter-in-law. "Tell me!"

Mree shot Trals a frustrated look, but dutifully said, "Mother-in-law, I see the triceratops we sent into the forest hills. They move unusually fast."

Trals could not suppress his chuckle. "Of course they move fast. Our men lead them."

"Yes yes but what drives them? Look and tell me!"
