1 Chapter 1 : A Small Orphanage in Hage.

In the Village of Hage in the Clover Kindgom, a series of knocks rung out on the door.

Opening the door, Sister Lilly saw the two baby boy's in front of her.

Each one had different cradles, meaning that they weren't together, as families also put sibling's in the same casket for religious reasons and so the orphanage could understand.

Two children, one with shiny black hair, and the other with a sparkling silver that reflected the light of the sun.

Sister Lily was an orphan herself, and her time growing up was... rough.

She decided that the best attribute of her time was to become a staff of an orphanage, where she could help the kids and get them the help that she couldn't.

"That's two." She sighed, before carefully picking up the basket containing the children.

One was quiet, one was trying to move around in his crib.

She offered a quick prayer to the parents of the child, as all parents have a reason to abandon their kids. Many don't even give the decency of sending their children to the orphanage, opting for the wolves in the forest to do the cycle of life.

"Disturbing and disgusting." She thought of these people, and even she felt angry.

Her grimoire fluttered, revealing a new page of magic.

Her eyes fluttered, and she exclaimed in joy.

"Father Orsi! Father Orsi-"

The Father of the church was a middle-aged man with short, dark brown hair and a goatee.

"Shush woman!" Father Orsi had a short temper but was sweet and kind inside, as anybody that ran these types of establishments needed to be smart and kind, even if they don't show it on the outside.

In his lap was a baby boy, with golden eyes and black hair.... darker than the midnight sky.

"Another one?" Sister lily asked, before taking up the boy and cradling him.

"Found him next to a field in the forest, inside a morphed tree that had traces of magic in it." Father Orsi sighed, before grabbing the basket full of nomatoes. "Don't resent his parents, Lilly, they shaped a tree for the child to sleep in. It provided shelter from the rain."

Sister Lily nodded, as they both gave a prayer to the parents of the child.

"Three people today. Quite a few, isn't it?" Father Orsi creased his temples from stress. "We don't get enough funding for this."

"Nobody in the forsaken realm does." Sister Lilly says. "Worry not, Father Orsi, as my water magic can make the soil fertile."

"Hm..." He looked towards the boy with golden eyes that was with the boy with the silver hair and decided to name both the silver hair and the boy with golden eyes next to him.

"Sister Lilly, since you are new to the orphanage, you can name the little one I found."

Father Orsi looked towards the silver-haired one first. "Your name will be Asta-"

A kick came straight at his jaw, temporarily stunning him.

Sister Lilly laughed at the interaction, causing him to blush.

He angrily looked over to the next one, saying, "Your name will be Yuno."

His gaze fell onto sister Lilly, as she looked down at the boy in her arms.

"Zakai... his name will be Zakai."

"Oh?" Father Orsi raised his eyebrows, "What made you name him Zakai."

"It's a word from an ancient language. It's meant to represent brightness, purity and clearness."

"You wish the boy had those properties?"

"Yes, Father."

"So it will be , Yuno , Asta and Zakai."

"Yes, Father."

"We are going to have a big family one day, aren't we?"

Sister Lilly's smiled at this statement.

"So we will, Father."

"Ah, and also this book was found with Zakai, its probably the legacy left to him by his parents, make sure to give it to him when he can talk."

Sister Lilly smiled, before looking into the sunny sky.

---------------------------

5 years later.

"Im going to be the wizard king!" Asta shouted, and Zakai counted that this was the 568th time he said that in a couple of months.

Yuno silently moaned, before silently looking at Asta. A hint of humour couldn't be hidden in his eyes, however.

Zakai was trying his best to open the book again, before sighing.

When he was three, the book never opened, no matter how hard he or other people tried. He had even sought the help of a strongman once, but his efforts were futile.

Although he didn't go to school, something reserved for the nobles, he had to attend a 2 hour a day lesson with Sister Lilly learning how to write and read.

Sister Lilly was literate, which was incredibly rare he was told, some say that the chance was 1/100 in the forsaken realm, so Zakai took pride in the ability to read and write.

The book had a connection with him. He felt it. Every time he tried to open it, he just felt a stronger hope for the next day.

"Sister Lilly, do you need any assistance?"

"Yes please, Zakai." Sister Lilly wiped the sweat off her face, before pointing to the forest.

"Go and get some herbs from the forest, AND DO NOT, under any circumstances, go near the skull, do you understand?"

"Yes, Sister Lilly."

Even after being told Zakai couldn't help but be mesmerised by her Holy Water Magic, which made it extremely nutritious, and in some cases, heals people.

A diet of solely Nomatoes was not healthy, and this was the secret recipe to the success of the Orphanage.

He got into the large forest, before stamping his feet down and moaning.

"Why am I not allowed near the skull? ive saw Asta and Yuno sneak there a couple of times, and they're fine."

Feeling a bout of childish arrogance, Zakai ran to the skull.

He felt the book in his hand vibrate.

More.

More.

Zakai's eyes laid down on the massive skull, as something was forced into his mind.

It felt like it crumpled, each of the edges crumbling into a small ball.

It was a man, with intricate patterns on his face, holding a pregnant lady with a feeling of resentment on his face.

He was sitting on a throne of bones, but he wasn't a king in a palace, the bones were his palace.

The image forcefully carved itself into his mind, as he slowly started to take a step back.

1,

2,

3!

Something flickered behind him, causing him to rapidly turn around.

"Awooof!"

Something flickered behind him, as the animal's claws lashed his back.

A scream of pain came from the boy as the warm blood seeped from the wound on his back, causing him to scream.

The echo rang around the forest, alerting all the birds to jump away.

The feeling of weakness enveloped his body, as he used the small book to stop the wolf's second attack, a bite.

Something happened.

The wolf's teeth broke, as shards of its sharp tooth fell out of its mouth and onto the ground.

Quickly grabbing one of the teeth, he slowly stabbed it in the wolf's eyes, causing it to scream.

A pale green aura enveloped the wolf, causing its movements to go quicker, as it slowly backed off from the boy.

It was angry and ready to pounce.

Before he could blink the wolf came back for round two, as its claws scraped the flesh off the boy's arm, causing Zakai to yowl in pain.

Using his other hand, he used all his power to drive the tooth into the wolf's chest, and he slammed it against the wolf's heart.

It was howling in pain as it slowly fell to the ground, before briefly going limp.

It wasn't the only thing that fell.

Zakai was on the floor, looking at the sunny white clouds while being drenched in his blood.

He felt cold.

Incredibly cold.

Too cold.

He blinked, and there was a hand in front of him.

A shadowy figure, one that wickedly smiled at him, its mist hiding its expression.

A dark figure.

Slowly reaching the hand of the figure, Zakai disappeared.
