You tried to groan, but all that left your throat was a low rumbling sound, something that would be more at home coming from the mouth of some kind of beast.

You blinked in and out of consciousness every now and then. You were dead. That bitch Cinder, that transfer from Haven killed you alongside two of her team members. ripped your throat out with some kind of Grimm beetle thing. You died in Emerald's arms, with a handful of her bountiful chocolate booty.

Honestly, it was all a blur to you. But you definitely remember the blood spilling from your throat and everything going dark while you desperately tried to suck the aura from Cinder to try and heal yourself.

And then you woke up here. In the darkness. Surrounded by flashes of emotions that you were very sure weren't yours. Sometimes you heard the voices of people, but mostly, you just heard the roars and shrieks of many a beast. They sounded like Grimm.

But you couldn't really think on it much. Because frankly, the flashes of emotion were too much. You either passed out from the sheer amount of them, or you found yourself smashing into walls in the darkness and trying to claw your way to them to just shut them the FUCK UP!

FUCKING WHINY BASTARDS!

You gave yourself a shake, cutting off the beginnings of another rage before it could begin.

You still had no idea what was going on. But you knew that you had died and that you were different now. Even in the darkness of wherever you were being contained, you could feel how different you were. Walking on all fours, and a pair of something long and feathery hanging from your back. You were sure they were wings.

You freaked out pretty hard when you first discovered them a few days ago. Well, a few consciousnesses ago. You weren't exactly sure how long you'd been here. You had a rough theory of what was going on...but it couldn't be....could it?

....

It didn't matter now you supposed. All that mattered was closing your eyes and going back to sleep before the ever increasing emotion around you threw you into deeper and deeper rages.

A massive sound and the world shaking around you mightily roused you from your slumber. A roar of pain left you when you bounced up and smacked into the roof of wherever you were being kept.

Rage just about overwhelmed you, but before you could descend into it and start rampaging around like a loonball, light for the first time in whoever knows how long pierced through the darkness.

The area in front of you slid open and fell forward slamming into the ground with a massive thud. The familiar roars of grimm were incredibly loud and you stepped out into the light.

And for a moment, you wished you really were back inside the inky black darkness and that this was not real.

For you found yourself stepping out onto the main stone path leading up to Beacon Academy. But unlike the glistening, glorious building you were familiar with. the sky was dark with a grey over cast, bodies littered the pavement, blood everywhere.

And all around you, were hundreds, if not thousands of Grimm rushing forward towards the academy itself.

Goliath, Ursa, Beringel and more charged down the path, Beowolf's leaped over anything their way and giant Nevermore blotted the sky from view above you.

'What is this!?' you tried to shout, but only a roar left your throat, a roar similar to the black beasts running amok around you.

Damn it! You shook your head. You didn't want to believe it, but you were, weren't you!? You'd become a Grimm!

You turned to a fallen building just a bit away and stared into a partially smashed window. The Grimm raged around you, but you ignored them for now and walked over until you were right in front of it and stared at your reflection.

What looked back at you, was not the boy you were familiar with being. But instead, a feline black furred beast, with massive feathery things and long spiked tail jutting from its behind. A bone plated face and a pair of crimson glaring eyes stared back at you.

A Griffon. A young one, at that. Griffon were known to grow to easily twice the size of a grown man, and the Alpha's as big as bus. The one staring back at you, was at best half the size of an adult man, half the size you remember being at best.

You were almost lost in your own reflection. And would have continued to stare if something didn't bowl hard into you and send you spinning. You righted yourself quickly, instinctually spinning on all fours and found the interloper that hit you quickly.

It was a common Beowolf, pushing itself up off of the ground, shaking its head. It must have ran into you and got tripped.

The Beowolf shook its head and gave you a small growl of anger, before turning away from you and making to continue its charge.

But that one little instance of anger against you, was enough to snap the barely held string of your temper.

You instinctively reached for your aura and let loose a roar of anger as it spread across your body, enhancing you just the same way you used it when you were a human.

You reared up, flaring your wings high and launched yourself through the air at the back of the Beowolf. Before it could react, the claws of your new limbs, glowing with aura slashed into its neck and raked downwards.

A yelp left its throat as your claws pierced into it from behind. Bigger than you it might have been, but augmented with your aura that you had painstakingly trained over your life, and with no protection against you, its gorey blood flew into the air and it was slammed hard into the pavement.

It trembled for a few moments, before going limp. Its body almost immediately beginning to dissolve into black smoke and drift into the air.

'What!?' you gaped at it. Sure, Grimm dissolved away after being killed, but not this quick! Nowhere near this quick!

In just a few moments, its entire body dissolved into black smoke and drifted up into the air. Then, while you were still shocked, it began to swirl around your form.

You yelped and tried to pull back, but couldn't escape at all as it seeped into your body.

You panicked, but it was all over in seconds. The black smoke was gone, and you felt...good. Like really good. Better than fucking good. You felt lighter, and stronger! It was like a brief rush of endorphins shot through your entire body and made you feel slightly light headed for a brief moment.

..And it took you a few seconds more to realise...your semblance was active, somehow. And you couldn't turn it off.
