Chapter 5 Danse Macabre

" Out they scampered from doors, windows, and gutters, rats of every size, all after the piper."

Inside Victor's Basement

Victor's computer can be seen running some algorithms. Suddlenly an alert sounded. 

Vanya "Excuse me Boss. Someone just tried to get some information on you."

Victor "Oh can you track who it is."

Vanya "On it boss."

Victor suddenly got a phone call from Monroe. 

Monroe "Victor I think I am being watched."

Victor "How many?"

Monroe "2 guys following me around in a SUV."

Victor "Where are you now?"

Monroe "Just getting out of a client house."

Victor "can you lead them into the woods that I showed you last time."

Monroe "I can try."

Victor "Keep you phone on you all the time. I am tracking you."

Monroe "Okay"

Then he hung up the phone.

Victor "Vanya track Monroe's phone and send me location. And if I get any text from Nick just help in any way you can by providing information."

Vanya "Okay boss."

Victor then gets to his cabinet containing guns and takes two pistols with silencer and some combat knives. Then he goes into the garage and rushes towards the woods while keeping an eye out for Monroe's location. 

Scene Change 

In a road near the wood

Monroe can be seen casually strolling the road. But when he gets to a corner he woges and run into the woods. 

The follower gets out of the SUV and begins to follow him into the woods. 

Monroe is seen running fast into the woods when he gets to the clearing, he hides behind a tree.

Just as he hides behind a tree and begins to look around and smell anything that is odd.

Monroe being a blutbode, a wolf like creature, has superior sense of smell. Just as he was looking around suddenly, someone came form behind him and closed his mouth. He struggled but all he heard was a shushing sound. 

As he turns around, he sees Victor fully dressed for combat. He stops struggling and Victor lets his hand go from his mouth. 

As they looked around, they suddenly spotted the 2 guys following Monroe. 

Attacker no.1 "I know you are here come out and we will give you a painless death."

Attacker no. 2 "Yeah. Just come out and don't make it difficult for us. It is your fault for hanging around 'Furcht' "

Just then they heard some rustling sound from one of the bushes and they motion for each other to go towards the bush.

As they were moving towards the bush Victor dropped on them from top of a tree and manages to slash the back of one of the attackers, 

They were startled by the sudden attack, but they regained their composer and woged. They both were Gelumcaedus, An Alligator-like Wesen.

But when they saw Victor instead of Monroe, they both exclaim "Furcht."

Victor smiles and says, "In flesh. So why don't you boys tell me who send you?"

But instead of answering they charged him.

Seeing this he just sighs and shoots the unharmed attacker right through his eyes and he falls dead immediately. 

The other attacker seeing his companion gives up the idea of attacking and begins to run."

But Monroe appears from his side and tackles him to the ground and manages to slice him with his claws. He was still breathing but badly wounded.

Victor "So why don't you tell me who send you and we can make this nice and easy."

The attacker gasps for breath and says, "Noone. Somebody put a contract on both you head in the market."

Victor frowns when he hears this. Then he takes out his phone and connects to Vanya.

Victor "What is this I am hearing about a contract Vanya?"

Vanya "Sorry boss it looks like they kept their presence in the web minimum, so I missed it."

Victor "Search for the one that put the contract up and I need all his info."

Vanya "On it boss."

Victor then turns to the attacker and says, "thank you for your co-operation" then he shoots him right through his eyes.

Afterwards Victor and Monroe dispose of the body and return back to victor's home.

Scene change

Inside Victor's home.

Victor "Sorry Monroe. It looks like I got you into something pretty messy."

Monroe "Hey no need to be sorry dude. I am your friend and that's what friends are for."

Victor smiles and passes a beer to Monroe.

Victor "So I would like to introduce you to someone. Vanya please welcome Monroe. He Is a friend."

Vanya "Identity established. Welcome Monroe."

Monroe "Woah what was that?"

Victor "Oh just a natural language-based A.I I created. She is very helpful, and I am proud of her."

Vanya "Thank you, boss."

Monroe has his jaw dropped to the floor and just stares at Victor. It is understandable because the technology is not yet so advanced to create even a simple A.I and Victor has mange to create a pretty advanced one.

Victor "Vanya did you find out who it was."

Vanya "Yes boss they are form L.A they are likely to be the one that send the reaper last time."

Victor thinks and then says, "Gather all the evidence of wrongdoing of the member of this group submit it to the authorities. Remove the contract from our heads too please. OH, and can you empty out all the money in their bank account."

"But don't leave any of our trances."

Vanya "On it boss."

Victor "And keep an eye out for anyone that escapes we need to take care of them. May be contract on their heads would be a poetic justice."

Vanya "yes boss."

Victor "keep an eye for any more contract on the heads of anyone that I know. Protocol is to immediately find out the person who put the contract there and inform me about it."

Vanya "yes boss. All your instructions have been completed and all the evidence has been submitted to the authorities."

Victor "Good job."

Then Victor turns around to see that Monroe is still dazed. Victor snaps his fingers in front of Monroe, and he gets out of the daze.

Monroe "Dude, so you are like really smart or something."

Victor laughs and says, "something like that but I just had lot of time."

As they were having a good time suddenly Monroe's Phone rings and it is from Nick.

He talks with him then hangs up the phone.

Monroe "So Nick wants me to talk with some Reinigen Kid about some murder in Van Hamlen Institute. It seems that he is a Violine player and got a Scholarship to the university."

Victor "Oh a case. Then I should go with you as I am a Civilian Consultant for Portland P.D."

Scene change 

Outside Rody's House

From outside Victor and Monroe can hear some beautiful violine play and both of them get mesmerized hearing it.

Monroe "Man it is so beautiful."

Then they knock on the door and Rody opens the door.

Monroe "Hey, Are you Rody?"

Rody "yess, how can I help you?"

Victor "Kid you have got some serious talent. You sounded so good."

Monroe "Yeah dude what he said."

Rody "Thank you but I am a bit busy right now."

And he goes to close the door but Monroe stops him as his hand Woges. Rody gets scared and backs away from the door. 

Victor lightly slaps Monroe's arms and tells the kid, "We are just here to talk. Detective Burkhart sent us to talk with you so that you don't make any bad decisions."

Monroe "Yes I know it is unusual getting a advice from Blutbad but listen to us, Nick actually cares for you and he knew you won't talk with him being cop and all so he send us to talk."

Rody then sits down on the sofa, Monroe and Victor also sit beside him. 

Victor "You see kid you have got talent for music. I mean real talent. Many believe themselves to be talented like Monroe here, but they are not. And you, my friend is the real deal."

Monroe "Hey dude, we are here to cheer the kid not hurt me. But what he said is true you are truly gifted."

Victor "Yes you see he also admits it. So, don't throw all that away just keep doing what you are good, and you will get there man. The girls, money, parties, fame so don't give up and keep going on. Your life is the most important and other are just side quests that you need to do."

Monroe "Woah man that's deep. Rody, are you getting this because I am, and I am excited to go home and try my music once again."

Victor sighs "Please that's just torture."

Monroe pouts "Rude."

Victor "Anyway kid, life is precious so don't give it away okay."

Monroe "I thought this should be a bit two sided. Are you getting any of it kid?"

Rody "I don't know."

Victor "Yeah you do. Just because you are younger than us does not mean you are smarter. Take it from someone who has seen a lot of things in life. Don't do things in impulse that you will regret later."

Saying this Victor gets up and walks towards the door.

Monroe "Listen to us kid. You thank us later."

After saying that Monroe follows Victor outside.

Monroe calls Nick and tells him that he talked with Rody. After that Monroe and Victor go to a bar to get a drink. 

Everything else still happened exactly as in the canon. 

Nick caught the 3 kids that actually killed the professor and Rody got his dad back with him and he followed Monroe and Victors advice and focused on his life.
