18 Chapter 18 Cats Out Of The Bag

Varen woke up to light hitting his face, he looked out and saw that it was already 7:15 AM and was going to be late to school. Varen quickly got up and smacked Peter across the face.

Peter: "Ow! What the hell!"

Varen: "We are going to be late!"

Varen quickly changed into some clothes and started brushing his teeth and at the same time fixing his bed hair. Peter looked at the time and also started to panic as he looked for some clothes to wear. As Varen was done, he went to make some toast for him and Peter. They both ran out with a toast in their mouths trying to put on their back packs.

Peter: "We are going to be late, I should just swing to school!"

Varen: "Are you an idiot? People will see you."

Peter: "Then how will we get there in time."

Varen: "We take the car idiot, so what if we are a little late."

Peter: "Well I can think of at least one person who would care *Cough* MJ *Cough*"

Varen: "Hehe...yeah she will probably be upset."

10 minutes later, they finally arrive at school. They get their late slips and go to class which has already started.

Ms. Choya: "Well its nice of you to join us Mr. Parkers, please take your seats."

Peter goes to his usual seat at Neds table as I walk to my usual table, where 3 girls can be seen. One of the girls looked a little irritated, the other read, and the last one seemed to be dazeing off.

As Varen started to sit down, he was already being questioned.

MJ: "Why were you late, I was waiting for you guys outside your door. I even texted you!"

Varen looked at his phone and saw 10 messages from MJ.

Varen: "Sorry MJ, We overslept. Yesterday was pretty tiring for me and Pete."

MJ quieted down after hearing this, thinking back to how worried she was.

MJ: "Well fine I guess, your forgiven."

Varen: "Thanks MJ."

Varen smiled at MJ, instantly getting rid of the remaining feelings of sourness from her. No one could withstand Varens smile.

Varen, MJ, and Gwen started talking while Felicia was still in a daze. Varen noticed this and decided to talk to her, but since he knew she would probably not want to talk out loud he texted her.

(Varen): "Hey you ok? Your oddly quiet, and you've been in a daze since I got here. You haven't even said Hi😕"

Felica felt her phone vibrate and looked at it, when she saw the text she started to type.

(Felicia): "Sorry Hi."

(Varen): "Are you ok?"

(Felicia): "Yeah why?"

(Varen): "You've been dazing off, yesterday too. You were acting a little weird."

Felicia hesitated to reply, you can see in her eyes that she was conflicted, sad, and angry?

(Felicia): "IM FINE. You don't have to worry about me sexy😘"

Teasing, she does this when she is nervous, or when she is trying to hide something.

(Varen): "Felicia, you know you can trust me right?"

(Felicia): "Can I? It feels like you have been keeping a secret to you know."

(Varen): "Your right, I have. It's not a secret that I can tell just anyone, their lives can be at stake."

(Felicia): "lives? You sound so dramatic, its cute😘"

(Varen): "I'll tell you my secret if you tell me yours."

(Felicia): "Sorry, but I also have a secret that involve lives."

(Varen): "Are you in trouble? Is your family in trouble?"

(Felicia): "Varen..."

(Varen): "I know I know, Lives at stake. But I would put my life at stake for you Kitty..."

Felicia Blushed when she saw the text. It made her happy that Varen would risk his life for her.

(Felicia): "Yeah well, I don't want you to die for me. Your too beautiful for that, plus my two sisters would be upset if you died😋"

Varen was about to reply when he heard a cough behind him. It was Ms. Choya, she was giving him a stare that he knew meant 'Put your phone away.'

The day carried on like that, with Felicia dazing off thinking about something or flirting with Varen to get him off her back.

When the day ended, Varen tried to go and talk to her. But when he went to look for her she was already gone, Varen could only sigh to himself as he drove back to the apartment with MJ and Peter.

Currently Varen was in the NightCave getting ready to head out for patrol. Peter was already out being Spider-Man since school ended. As he was getting on his NightCycle Morgana informed him of something.

Morgana: "Varen, it seems that a silent alarm has been tripped at one of the jewelry stores nearby."

Varen: "Alright, thanks Morgana. I'll go check it out."

A few minutes later, Nightwing arrived at the Jewlery store. It did not seem like there was any sign of a break in, and as Nightwing was going to continue looking; he saw a figure that was all to familiar sneaking out from the roof.

Nightwing jumped to the roof and landed quietly. He walked up to Black Cat and whispered in her ear.

Nightwing: "We have really got to stop meeting this way."

Black cat jumped in surprise and swung her claws at the person who snuck up on her. Nightwing caught Black Cats hand before it can hit him. Black Cat realized who it was and visibly relaxed, she then put on a charming smile.

Black Cat: "Well if it isn't my favorite sexy hero, to what do I owe the pleasure?"

Nightwing: "Would you believe me if I said I missed you?"

Black Cat giggled at his answer, she slowly walked up to Nightwing and put her arms around his neck.

Black Cat: "You know, It wasnt very nice taking my diamonds away last time."

She pouted making a cute face, Nightwing wanted to chuckle at the adorable face she was making.

Nightwing: "Sorry sweet heart, those were not yours to begin with."

Black Cat: "Finders Keepers~"

Nightwing: "Haha, your right."

I dangle the bag I snatched from her in front of her face. She tried to swipe them back but I was to quick and put them behind my back.

Black Cat: "Hey no fair!"

Nightwing: "But you said Finders Keepers. Besides, why are you stealing when you can make an honest living?"

Black Cat: "Thats no fun, where is the rush in that?"

Nightwing: "I can make you feel a whole different type of rush..."

Nightwing whispered in her ear as he saw her face quickly light up into a bright red.

Nightwing: " haha You are very cute kitty!"

Black Cat froze when she heard Nightwing say this, specifically when she heard 'Kitty'.

Black Cat: "What?"

Nightwing: "Huh?"

Black Cat: "You called me Kitty, and it sounded familiar too."

Nightwing: "...uhh."

Black Cat: "Varen?"

Nightwing: "W-who's Varen?"

The more that Black Cat stared at Nightwing, the more the figure in her head looked like him if he wore the costume. Everything makes sense now! Why he seemed familiar when they first met, why he calls her Kitty, and why he disappeared yesterday.

Black Cat: "Varen! Your Varen!"

Nightwing sighed to himself. ( I guess the cats out of the bag, whatever; I was planning on telling her anyway.)

Nightwing retracted his hood and took of his mask. When Black Cat saw his face and confirmed it was him, she was stunned and completely embarrassed. She remembered all the embarrassing things that she did to him, she even kissed him!

Varen: "Haha, Hey Kity!"
