87 Seige

It had been a few days and the city was still in a deadlock with the Sacred Palace, who were still waiting for the return of their Disciples. From the city, the inhabitants could see the small groups leaving the airship that would go out searching every day.

However, it seemed that today was different.

Someone immensely powerful, who had previously been waiting, was out in front of the barrier.

"Won Feng come out here, right now! I demand you tell me what you did to my Sacred Palace Disciples!"

Won Feng appeared outside the barrier a few moments later, where he gave the man an uncaring look.

"Jiang Kun I have no idea what happened to your Disciples."

"Liar! No Genesis Beast or Cultist out there is strong enough to have killed my Junior Brothers! Do you understand the implications of your actions, Won Feng? Because of this, I could destroy your whole city!"

"Do you believe me so foolish to think that wasn't your intention from the start? You Sect has terrorised this territory for years. Why would you suddenly stop?"

The now-named Jiang Kun growled as he revealed his Three Heavenly Suns.

"I will give you one hour to bring out every Genesis Treasure in your Sect as compensation. If you do not, I will tear down this barrier and obliterate this puny city!"

He then took a swipe at Won Feng, however, Won Feng appeared unfazed.

He suddenly appeared behind the barrier once again, which had no trouble defending such an attack.

"Be prepared Won Feng. Your hour begins now."

Julong who was watching from below scowled. He was joined by Xiao Dai who was holding Qingchans Jade Tablet in her hand.

"Looks like Master was right. He predicted that they would make a move today or tomorrow. It's a good thing he was able to finish up the reinforcements on the barrier yesterday."

"Yes, but who knows what that Jiang Kun has up his sleeve."

A few moments later, Qingchan appeared behind them.

"Come on, Won Feng has called for us. It's about time for us to start."

At that, the trio got to the Sect Hall as soon as they could. Won Feng was seated on his throne as per usual. When he saw the teenagers, however, he got up. He walked over to Xiao Dai.

"Are you ready? I know you have never seen a Law Domain Expert before. You may feel scared at the strength they radiate, however, all I ask is that you do your best."

Xiao Dai smiled at her Master.

"Don't worry, I'm sure I've done harder things before."

"Rest assured, Sect Master Qing Yang is very kind and reasonable."

Julong chimed in followed by a reassuring nod from Qingchan.

Pulling out the Jade Tablet, Xiao Dai looked at it once more. She looked around the room awkwardly before rubbing her neck embarrassedly.

"So uhh... remind me how these are used again?"

Julong grinned at her amusedly.

"We simply have to break them, which will alert Qing Yang to our location. He will then teleport us to the Cangxuan Sect via a spacial rift. They were originally meant for an emergency but this is reasonable enough I assume."

Xiao Dai nodded as she listened to Julong.

"Good luck you two."

Qingchan said with a smile as they both took their respective Tablets in their hands and snapped them in half.

Almost immediately, a small rift appeared in front of them, sucking them in before closing.

In the time it took to blink, Julong and Xiao Dai had appeared in the Cangxuan Sect, right in front of Qing Yang.

There was an immediate pressure of a Law Domain Expert when they appeared. Xiao Dai trembled under it momentarily before adjusting herself.

Qing Yang was now right in front of them. They were in the main Hall of the Cangxuan Sect where all the Peak Masters would usually be. However this time it was just Qing Yang.

"Ah Wan Julong, your back. And who is this?"

Julong smiled. 

"Thank you, Sect Master. This is Xiao Dai, she is from the Skeletal Fortressing Territory, she is the Disciple of Won Feng, the Sect Master of the Swirling Poison Corrupting Sect."

"I pay respect to the Elder!"

Xiao Dai bowed awkwardly before blushing a little out of embarrassment.

Qing Yang looked at her quizzically.

"So why have you brought her here? I noticed Qingchan was fine and that you two were not in any immediate trouble."

"We would like to form an alliance between our Sects."

Qing Yang was a little surprised when he heard that.

"Explain."

As soon as Jiang Kun felt the power of Qing Yang, just as theorised, he went on the offensive. Out of the bottom of the airship, a Mid-Level Heaven Genesis Weapon appeared. It had Grade-8 Runes all over it and exuded a terrifying level of power.

Only a few moments after its appearance did it begin its attack.

It charged for a few moments before a large black beam of Genesis Qi burst from it. It struck the barrier in one continual attack.

The barrier was able to resist it, but if it continued to get stronger, it was uncertain how much longer the barrier would be able to go on.

"Won Feng, I gave you an opportunity. To think you would be so rude in the face of my kindness!"

Now all over the outside of the barrier were Sacred Palace Disciples, waiting for the barrier to break.

Qingchan and Won Feng could only watch the barrier with anxious eyes. They had done as much as they could. They could only hope that Xiao Dai and Julong would be quick.

5 minutes quickly went by, and the beam had gotten even stronger, to the point the barrier was beginning to tremble and falter.

Another 5 minutes and Won Feng had to directly interfere and began pouring his own Genesis Qi into the barrier to strengthen it.

"Such arrogance, Won Feng, what do you hope to achieve by doing this? Your Sect would never be able to form an alliance with the Cangxuan Sect. Better yet, now it makes sense why my Junior Brothers are gone. It was the ones from that Sect who killed them wasn't it!?"

As he yelled the strength of the Genesis Weapon became even greater. The barrier finally cracked, now only held together by hopes and dreams.

All those in the city below grimaced as they slowly watched it crack all over. They all knew it was their end.

In the next moment, the barrier exploded, fizzling away into harmless Genesis Qi. Jiang Kun laughed boisterously as the beam was about to slam into the centre of the city.

"Is that all you have, Jiang Kun?"

Suddenly, a power beyond that of comprehension appeared.

It created only a small panel of what appeared to be glass infront of the ray of power, but just by touching the ghastly power, the Genesis Weapon seemed to malfunction and ceased to beam Genesis Qi down at the city.

A power seeped through the world like a crushing storm. It weighed down on the very Genesis Qi, rumbling like the end was near.

Almost everyone was forced to remain still under such a colossal power.

"What!? Don't tell me!"

In the sky, a spatial rift had appeared. A figure of unmissable stature stood in the air. Her near-divine beauty was unmissable in the Cangxuan Heaven. Tales and praise wrung out all over the Heaven for this individual. Liu Lianyi had appeared, along side her, Julong and Xiao Dai.

Qingchan looked up in relief to see her Peak Master in the area. It means they had succeeded.

"Jiang Kun. You are required to retreat immediately as you are now impeding on Cangxuan Sect Territory. The Skeletal Fortressing Territory in its entirety is now under the protection of Cangxuan Sect and its associates."

Liu Lianyi opened the scroll in her hand and faced the contents toward Jiang Kun, revealing a legitimate alliance treaty. Jiang Kun revealed an ugly scowl as he seemed to glance over the contents of the scroll.

"The Sacred Palace will not let this go, Liu Lianyi!"

With an almost shit-eating grin, Liu Lianyi looked down on him.

"What happens afterwards concerning this matter, is none of your business, Jiang Kun. Now take your people on your airship and leave."

Jiang Kun grit his teeth as he waved his people onto the airship and began to retreat. But not before sparing one last glance at Liu Lianyi.

Everyone in the city below let out a sigh of relief. They were saved.

Won Feng gave a soft look toward his disciple in the sky. He was immensely proud.

Julong also had a relieved and happy look on his face. He could now finally refine the Ancestral Dragon Scales.
