The Great Dao

In the beginning, there was the great void.

Then there was the formless energy within the void that nurtured the first sentient life but it continued to sleep while thousands of worlds and life forms continued to form in the great void.

Finally, the 3000 great worlds had been formed in the great void and life began to thrive vibrantly. 

Although this first sentient life had no name but the races of the 3000 great worlds called him the Great Dao.

Now this Great Dao had awakened and he had taken on the appearance of a young and handsome man.

And he had appeared in an unknown lower mortal realm and his name is Kai Shi, which means the Beginning. 

No one gave him this name but it was a name that he simply knows was his name when he was awakened from his deep slumber. 

He saw that the place that had received him was a truly beautiful place with plenty of trees and floras. 

Kai Shi checked his cultivation core and saw that he was at the first cultivation realm. 

He took a deep breath and closed his eyes to dwell his divine sense into the world and soon realized that this world has 7 cultivation realms and in order to ascend to the upper realm, he had to reach the 7th cultivation realm first.

As he explored the woods in the mountains, he was quite startled to see a 2nd rank profound beast that had suddenly appeared to attack him.

Instantly, he was able to see the status of this 2nd rank profound beast.

Then he saw that his own HP was only 100.

Kai Shi sighed softly as he picked up a long stick that was near to him.

Stick: 1 – 2 Damage.

Kai Shi frowned, "This will take me a long time to kill this profound beast."

Then he tried to reason to the charging profound beast, "Do you know who I am?"

But the charging profound beast ignored him and charged madly at him.

Kai Shi panicky evaded the charging profound beast as it got near to him. 

The charging profound beast refused to give up and it attacked Kai Shi again.

However, Kai Shi moved out of the way again and instantly his consciousness was alerted to a cultivation breakthrough even as he tried to evade from the profound beast.

When Kai Shi saw that he had already hit the maximum evasion, he switched to attacking with his long stick.

Ding* You have successfully hit your target thrice in a row. +2% auto hit. +10% hit rate. 

Ding* You have scored a critical thrice in a row. +10% critical damage, +2% critical rate.

Ding* You have successfully hit your target four times in a row. +3% auto hit. +15% hit rate. 

Ding* You have scored a critical four times in a row. +15% critical damage, +3% critical rate.

Ding* You have successfully hit your target five times in a row. +4% auto hit. +20% hit rate. 

Ding* You have scored a critical five times in a row. +20% critical damage, +4% critical rate.

Ding* You have successfully hit your target six times in a row. +5% auto hit. +25% hit rate. 

Ding* You have scored a critical six times in a row. +25% critical damage, +5% critical rate.

Ding* You have reached the maximum hit and critical bonus.

In just a quick battle, Kai Shi had become almost super fighter.

But unfortunately for him, he was using a long stick as a weapon and he was actually doing 0 damage to the dangerous 2nd rank profound beast despites his critical damage.

Before he knows it, he was getting exhausted by his battle with it and he got careless; the profound black boar had struck him and slammed him against a tree so hard that Kai Shi saw that he had lost 50 HP! 

And he was now left with 50 HP! 

Can you imagine the Great Dao of the universe getting himself killed on his first awakening? 

Now this is the beginning of the end for Kai Shi.

But fortunately for him, an extremely beautiful maiden had suddenly emerged from the woods and she had instantly killed the profound black boar. 

Kai Shi blinked his eyes and answered, "I am alright. Maiden, I owe my life to you. This is really a great help."

The extremely beautiful and fairy like maiden giggled softly, "So, what is your name? Are you trying to go up to the mountains to become a cultivator?"

Kai Shi grinned, "You can call me Kai Shi. I don't need to go up to the mountains to become a cultivator. I am a cultivator."

The extremely beautiful and fairy like maiden giggled jovially when she had heard him, "Are you sure that you are a cultivator? You don't look like one and you don't even have a sword with you."

She began to point at the long stick that he was wielding.

Kai Shi frowned, "Of course I am a cultivator."

The extremely beautiful and fairy like maiden rolled her alluring eyes playfully as she asked, "So, what is your cultivation realm now?"

Kai Shi said proudly, "I am at the first cultivation realm."

The extremely beautiful and fairy like maiden laughed jovially with her hands on her slim belly, "This… this is… never mind…"

Then she took out a token and put it in his hands, "Take this token and go to the celestial sect up the mountains. Tell them you want to be a cultivator. But don't tell anyone that you have seen me."

With that she had flashed away and disappeared as quickly as she had come. 

Kai Shi was startled as he looked at the token in his hand, "I don't want to be a cultivator of a celestial sect. But I am the Great Dao. I ought to repay this kindness to her for saving my life and I should give her an advice or two about cultivation…"
