4 Reporting to higher up

The open day for White Tortoise Academy registration. Bullshit. What World's Defense? It's more like a survival camp. Yeah the theory is good, it might be the best when teaching you about those god damned monsters but then practical side? Ugh who the hell thought having a live exercise with just 3 people in a group would be fine. It's a god damned jungle full of those beast.

No one is above the law? Bullshit. It's only for us ordinary people. Look at that disgustingly rich bastard Gray Lux. Even his name is Luxurious. Mandatory law for people above 18 years old huh. Well I never saw any of those guy that were in TVs coming up here registering. The one that made the law is the one that is untouchable. When a law doesn't make profit they will just change it. Yeah you pay allowances but is it enough for a real soldier's wage?

This academy bullshit is just for you to have more manpower. Cheap soldier's who would kill monsters while keeping this city safe. Because of that stupid allowance, my sister died. Can your money bring her back? Just you wait, in a couple more years I'll have a promotion. When I rise high enough i will destroy this system.

Why is it so quiet? Oh it's been a while since a guy passed by. It can't be over right? 5 lines of people, a people a minute. It's been more than 3 minutes. Is someone causing a trouble? If you don't want to register because you have power to bend the rule, sure but why make others unable to register too.

"What's holding up the line? A person a minute. Is it so hard a task to verify I.D and drawing blood Mr Alex?"

I rushed to Mr Alex's side. Noticing him trembling I'm sure of it. This rich bastard is threatening Alex.

"N-no.. It's just that I've met a special.. person registering."

What special, he is just powerful and doesnt comply by the rule.

"Isn't everyone equal beneath the law? What's special about him?"

I noticed his lips twitching. Is he smiling? Damn what's up with this old dude.. dressing up so luxuriously.. luxurious? Wait it can't be. Alex handing me something. ID card? Gray Lux?!!

Not good. Why is he here? Did he knows about my plan and wants to stop me?

Deep breath. Breathe in.. Breathe out.. Fuh... He's obviously to register. I'm too agitated. How would he even know me. "Umm. Forgive me for the rudeness Mr Lux. Please could you come this way and have a seat first. I need to clear up a few things with the higher up."

This is out of my pay grade. I rushed out to get the principle. The principal of this school. He knows what to do. Ah I forgot Mr Lux.. I'll just report to the principle.

Seeing the name tag Principal Dominic on the wooden door, I knocked with relief in my heart. I'm saved.

"Come in."

I saw the principal looking solemn as always while filling up some paperwork.

"What is it Baldwin? This is the first time you came here.. and you seemed out of breath."

I placed the heavy I.D card in my hand at the table. I've never feel more relieved than now. I panted. Now i realized I'm covered in sweat

"Gray Lux's I.D card? How did you have it? What did you do?!"

Still panting I heard what he said but couldn't quite understand what he means by that.

"Principal Dominic.. Hah hah.. Mr Lux came just now.. hah hah.. I rushed towards you as I realize that.. hah.. I'm can't handle this situation.. So I report this to my higher up which is you principal."

"You rushed here straight away and didn't bother to return his I.D card. Impressive. Did you not consider that you are currently restraining him by holding on to his I.D? And you report it to me as I Am Your Higher Up But Did You Not Know Who My Higher Up Is?"

I stood confused. The principle have a higher up? and i restraint Gray Lux? Shit.

"If you are that dense.. Let me enlighten you up a bit Baldwin. This entire city, Silver Turtle City is developed and managed completely by Lux Corporation. If you are still puzzled.. Gray Lux developed everything here in this city. White Tortoise Academy does that ring a bell? Everything in this city is under his rule Baldwin. You could call him a dictator if that makes it any easier."

"Uh.. So he is the king?"

"Yes. He is the king. This city is his kingdom and as the subject managing his school, i am to report to him. Indirectly he is my higher up. So how do you think I'm supposed to handle this. My subordinate has delayed my superior."

I couldn't think anymore and simply froze there.
