24 Jinx

Inside a remodeled room outfitted to be a gym with various high tech equipments stood a few people wearing white coats and one of them is in a butler suit. They all had frown on their face, beads of sweat could be seen.

"We are screwed."

The man in the butler suit stayed calm despite his frown.

*Bzzt*

"Bell team reporting. Please send reinforcement. Encountered a group of supermans with thin sword."

*Bzzt*

Like the calamities coming in turns ome after another, the situation is going downhill, fast.

"Right, at least the situation couldn't get any worse." A man wearing a white laboratory cloth cursed.

'F*ck! You just have to jinx it!' screamed others in their heart.

"Wang, you got a pretty famous reputation for being a jinx. *Sigh* This old man have to take action. Team! Prepare a working prototype for me to go. We can't lose Bell team. Coordinate with the other two team to reinforce them. Code Red."

The situation turns hectic with that one shout from the butler. Everyone did exactly as told and soon a platform was built. A 'remote combat' platform.

"I'll be going in. Activate all senses. I need to perform my best for this."

"But Genaral, you can die if-"

"I said, Activate all senses. Are you deaf!? Hurry Up, they could die out there!" Jack rushed the workers as he wears all the equipment to perform a 'remote combat'.

He looked at his masters direction. A calm look like always on his face, as if he were just lazing on the throne, not a movement could be seen. A top hat was worn where other kings would instead wear a crown. Surrounding him was a large curved screen depicting the scene all around the 'Steel Puppet'.

A vast desert seemingly out of place from the lush green forest all over this world. The steel puppet didn't step into the desert and instead walks around the edges. His vision fixed on the city called Raven. A small city that was known for being built on top of a waterfall, now there is nothing surrounding it. The towering cliff was nowhere to be seen, the river dried and the forest turned to sand, burying part of the City.

Jack looked again at the calm face of his master sitting there. 'Only you are capable of such a feat, master. A remote combat would usually duplicate the signal your brain sends. The signal is then send towards the robotic prototype, allowing you to control it. There is no known limit on it's effectice controlled range. Any damage done to the 'Steel Puppet' doesn't affect the controller in any way, but that is yet to be tested. If it is proven to be true, we would have an undying army, controlled from the safety of this impenetrable city. The only defect is that controlling this 'Steel Puppet' places a huge burden on the brain. You could literally die when controlling the 'Steel Puppet' for a prolonged period.'

'Other people would need to do the action while they are doing the remote combat. Master however only needs to imagine the action taken and he can do it while sleeping. If everyone could do remote combat like he does... Those beast outside will be killed to the point of extinction. The potential and benefits this technology would bring is endless. Even I could think of the many possiblelities surely my master have thought of much more.'

Just before Jack put on the 'helmet' equipment, a voice so familiar shouted in a desperate tone.

"Activate all my senses now! Hurry! I will die for real if this puppet is destroyed!"

*Loud audible gasps*

Everyone seemed to not believe what they have just heard. Eyes bulging wide as they all stared at the now black screens.

"What did we tell you Wang! Fuck your shitty mouth!" Most of the workers there yelled on the spot while each of them doing their own task at a hurried pace.

"Jack, don't bother making any changes to the plan you ordered just now. Save the kids. You won't make here in time anyway."

"Master why don't you just disconnect from the puppet!? Any danger can be bypassed."

"I'm trapped Jack. Whatever this thing I'm facing with, it somehow prevents me from disconnecting. I'll survive som-"

*Crashhh* *swoosh* *crack*

"Urgh... Hurry... activate my... senses.."

The butler then unhesitatingly puts his helmet on. As he readies his stance and launch the Remote Combat mode. His view changes.

Bright light entered his view, he squinted but to no avail the Steel Puppet doesn't have an eye lid installed. While giving his surrounding a look over he talked. "Switch to Comm Chanel 4 and lay the fastest path to Bell team."

*Beep* 'Completed'

"Bell team, report. Reinforcement ETA 1 minute. Stay alive."

The butler was seen sprinting at a very high speed, far surpassing the athletes of the olden age. Considering the butler's old age, the workers there were rubbing their eyes. It was very unbelievable.

"His speed.. it even surpassed his prime. How is this possible?"

"Talk later idiot. Assist the general first. Coordinate with all three team to ensure survival." Wang reprimanded the others.

"Send in air support. Two group of TX-03 drone should be good in this situation. Get the view back on Mr Lux's. His survival is top priority." A man standing in the shadow quickly shooting orders. "You R and D team are ridiculous. Panicking in this situation is the worse thing to do."

Ah he walks out into the light, his bald shining head was the first to be noticed.

"How did you get in here?! This place isn't where a guard should be. Get out." Wang pointed his finger towards the door as if his action could make the man leaves.

"What guard? I'm the defense minister idiots. Get back in line and do as you are told. Time is of the essence here and none should be wasted fighting. We can fight later. Saving everyone is top priority!"
