27 A wild Tail

It is such a weird sensation. Walking around and seeing the surrounding without feeling anything. It is almost like I'm detached from this world, just like those 'live exercise' thing.

The large stretch of sand isn't natural. It's like everything around Raven City 'died'. Even the cliff and breathtaking waterfall that used to be the pride of Raven City is no longer here. Everything just crumbled and turned to sand.

Weird and heavy sensation is tearing at my heart, I could almost feel the non-existant cold sweat from the back of this steel robot. My instinct running wild, 'Don't go there!' it said.

But nothing can be done about it. I've walked the surrounding for quite a while, it's time I get on with the objective. Investigate Raven City. For that, I need to go through this desert and enter the city.

*Steps*

What a weird feeling. Feels like.. Someone is watching me.

"Soul, is it just me or is the space 'locked'? I'm no good with my senses out"

"Yes."

"'Yes'? Soul don't joke at a time like this."

"Wait. I'll try to get your sense back."

I shouted with an urgent tone.

"Activate all my senses now! Hurry! I will die for real if this puppet is destroyed!"

Splitting my consciousness to two bodies is taxing, but that puppet is right. There is something there. It doesn't matter if the steel puppet is destroyed but if we can't even put up a fight, our plan might fail.

High morale is needed to make these researcher think their N.O.R.M.a.l prototype is working, the most important value is in the 'pilot' is safe from death. Wait, did I just said I will die if that prototype is destroyed?

I messed up.

Let's go with the flow... Puppet always said that people would do their best in desperation, or completely resign themselves to fate and do nothing. Ah that slave looks so worried.

"Jack, don't bother making any changes to the plan you ordered just now. Save the kids. You won't make here in time anyway."

Seemingly thinking of something, he said.

"Master why don't you just disconnect from the puppet!? Any danger can be bypassed."

"I'm trapped Jack. Whatever this thing I'm facing with, it somehow prevents me from disconnecting. I'll survive som-"

What happened? Shit, that's a large tail. Go with the flow, keep the desperate mood.. Shit you'd better give me something nice for this Puppet.

The sky suddenly dimmed and everything turned gloomy, the weird feeling is amplified.

*Doom Doom Doom*

My non-existant heart beats faster pumping adrenaline through my whole steel body, everything turned slow.

Somehow I could feel a strong gush of wind blowing at the non-existant sweat on my back. Feeling amidst, I rapidly turned around.

"Roar SFX"

To my surprise a big white text appeared in my vision. Those guys really gets on my nerve.

A black dot is fast approaching, filling my vision. This is gonna hurt.

I raised my hand, shouting "Focussed Shield."

"Crash SFX" was now in the middle of my vision.

I was already flying in the air before I knew what happened. Pieces of metal was flying everywhere. I raised my right arm to confirm my thoughts and indeed there is nothing left.

*Kaboomm!*

Pain.

I would scream if there is no one watching but it's just isn't possible for me to show such an image.

The jolting pain might make most men rolling on the ground, hugging their leg while gritting their teeth.

For me, It is a much needed wake up call.

"WHAT ARE YOUU!" A loud roar echoes and strangely enough I was able to hear it's thought.

As I stood there in silence, the tail vanished. Fearing another strike coming up, I answered.

"I come in peace. We mean you no harm."

"PEACE?! NO HARM?! THERE ISNT A SINGLE LIFE HERE. WH-"

"Hey! It's rude you know. My name is Gray Lux and this is my remote control robot. I'm here to investigate the reason why Raven City has been quiet for around three years."

The black dot came again. This lizard...

"Last time was a blunder Lizard. This time.."

The robotic frame then bends it's knee to form a horse stance but it's back slightly slouched. Copious amount of steam were released from it's every joint.

Low screeching noise could be heard along with rapid clicking sounds.

The millions compound individual eye of the remote controlled steel puppet begins lighting up with a slightly blue hue.

*Boooom!*

A loud boom was heard when the tail's tip was moving fast towards the steel puppet's head. A testament toward it's speed.

However fast it may be, everything would appear slow to Gray Lux, to the steel puppet's vision. Thanks to the million tiny individual eye made by IRIS in order to surpass the vision of a fly.

The tip of the lizard tail appeared as a black dot, gradually becoming bigger. Every minute detail is seen.

"... your tail is getting slice and diced."

Multiple light columns suddenly appeared out of thin air, blocking the path of the fast moving tail.

The tail continues moving forward, smashing through the light columns seemingly unaffected.

'Of all the thing you can do... You chose to pick a fight with a dragon. Idiot.'

Surprised by the sudden voice in his head, the steel robot stopped for a moment which proved to be disastrous the next second.

*Zrash*

Pieces of metal scattered in the air. The steel robot fell to the ground. Part of it's head missing. There were no sign of movement.

Steams were no longer released and the rapidly clinking noise died down.

A loud roar resounded throughout the whole area.
