64 Climactic Battle

Flora ordered her spirits to attack me, but they didn't. They just stood– no, they just hovered there as if they didn't hear the words of their master.

She looked confused and repeated her orders to the spirits. But they still did not respond.

I was just as confused as Flora. I could definitely feel the master-servant connection between her and the spirits. I know next to nothing about magic, but this instinctive feeling I have as a Blessed One doesn't lie. So why? Why aren't they attacking?

Soon, Flora ran out of patience and shouted in frustration.

"Why aren't you listening to me? Is our contract a lie? Are we not friends?"

One of the spirits shook his head, but Flora couldn't see the gesture. Only when the spirit replied did Flora look towards the spirit.

"We are friends, Flora. But, as wind spirits, we can never bring harm towards the exalted Child of Wind."

"'Child of Wind'? You mean he's–!"

Flora turned to look at me with wide eyes. It seems like she realized who blessed me.

Well, both of us learned something here today. No matter who their master is, a wind spirit will always side with me. That's useful to know, it might come in handy in the future.

Flora audibly clicked her tongue. She looked frustrated.

"Oh well. I was hoping to make your capture easier with the help of spirits since you're a Blessed One. But I never expected that your patron God to be Aeolus."

"You only have wind spirits?"

"That's correct. But that doesn't matter. The old-fashioned way will be more than enough."

She raised her palm and a magic circle was constructed in front of her.

I didn't know what spell she was going to use, so I increased my focus using Wind Sense.

Then, I felt something wrap around my legs. I looked down to see what it was.

I saw several chains emitting a soft blue glow coming out of the roof tiles, holding me in place.

I struggled to pull my legs free. I even used Aura weapon imbuing to strike at the magical chains, hoping to at least break one link. But my efforts were fruitless. The chains were fucking durable. It reminded me of the Lobon cage I was in when Cole captured me.

Flora was about to cast another spell. I felt my instincts screaming at me to dodge. But I couldn't. FUCK!

"I'll help!"

Ani suddenly offered to help me. I didn't even ask for her aid, but she still helped. Whatever, if it would get me out of here, then fine.

She raised her tiny arms and gathered the wind from all directions. The wind all converged into a single point in half a second and instantly solidified into a blade.

How the fuck...? That's possible?

Before my mind could ask more questions as to how Ani was able to solidify air, she blasted the wind blade and shattered my restraints.

At the same time, Flora already finished casting her spell.

It was... a Wind Blade spell of some sort. It wasn't solidified like Ani's wind blade, but it still carried a sharpness that can rend flesh.

I was stupefied. I raised my hands and focused on the wind blades that were about to tear my face apart.

Soon, I was able to disperse the wind blades. It was my first time dispersing wind, but it was easier to do than I thought.

Flora's eyes went wide when she saw her spell negated. She looked confused. Meanwhile here I was, thinking if she's an idiot like Rosaline.

"Uh, are you stupid?"

"What did you say?!" Flora's expression turned sour. She didn't like me calling her stupid.

"You literally figured out a second ago that Aeolus is the one who blessed me. Why're you attacking me with wind?"

"S-silence!" She exclaimed before launching more wind-based spells at me.

Dispersing her spells was even easier than the first time. She kept blasting wind spells at me, and in turn, I kept making her efforts in vain.

After a while, I ran out of patience. All she's been doing is shooting wind spells left and right, but none of them are barely reaching me.

"Are wind spells the only offensive spell you know?!"

"Eep!"

Flora stopped. My guess was dead on.

"Ahahahahah!!!" I couldn't help but laugh. Here I was, expecting to have a tough fight against a mage, something that I have zero experience at. But this is fucking hilarious.

I can't believe she had the balls to speak so arrogantly earlier when I'm literally her worst match. Oh right, she's a girl. She doesn't have balls.

I channeled Aura into my legs and conjured a burst of wind to reach Flora with blinding speed.

A torrent of wind gushed out, disheveling Flora's formerly neatly combed hair.

She stared into my eyes as I stood before her and I stared right back. No, glared would be the more appropriate term.

I was angry, and rightfully so. This bitch tried to abduct me. Even though she failed in epic proportions, the attempt was still there.

I could see the fear behind those amber jewels. She must be thinking about what I was going to do to her.

Killing her would be so easy, but that would be troublesome. The death of a noble child isn't something that could be overlooked.

But I couldn't just let her go like that. She knows that the butler of Rosaline is another Blessed One.

I glanced at the five spirits with us. Hmm...

Maybe...
