7 Griffin I

Gray and Zodiac have not spoken to each other after her outburst.

They avoided each other for different reasons. For Gray, it was the embarrassment after she realised two things. First, he was her mate, an Alpha and second, this was his house. He hadn't been the gentleman for the two months that she's known him but she shouldn't have gone that far.

Especially after Virgo explained to her that the whole mating process had been entirely Capricorn's fault. Not only was the guilt killing her, but she didn't know how to get things on an even ground.

Zodiac on the other hand felt it would be better to keep his wolf far away from his mate. Not only was he an impatient horny bastard, it turns out he had the tendency to overide the hold he sometimes held on him.

If he didn't know any better...he would have thought that Cap had lost hearing or that he was no longer responding to their bond. But that would be absurd. He had never heard of a situation where one's wolf refused to honour their human-wolf pact.

As he headed towards the kitchen, he had only one thing in mind and that was to fix himself coffee.

"You know you're being a prick right?", he heard Cap in his head.

"Says the dude that practically raped his mate", Zodiac responded

"I told you I was in heat!, it was a natural response to her heat"

"Right, I would love to believe that it is a good excuse but we both know it's not. If anything it makes you look dumb!"

"Whatever, I'll make it up to her. I promise"

"Just STAY away from her", Zodiac warned. Anger radiating off him in thick waves.

"She's my mate, I'm not staying way from her!"

Capricorn responded with anger and his eyes flashed a bright red. The argument continued as both of them snarled at each other in the mind link.

Just as he rounded the corner, he stopped in his tracks. Gray was staring right at him, her eyes wide with fear when they locked with hers.

Dang it!. He wanted to scream in frustration. Before he could say a word. She scrambled away, leaving her coffee behind.

Zodiac paced in-front of his mirror, biting his lip in annoyance.

" I really think rejecting her would be good for her"

"Don't even dare think about it!", he heard the snarl from Cap.

"She literally traumatized and unhappy. It's the last thing I ever wanted!"

"We're going to make everything right!"

"Yeah right! Take her shopping and like magic she's going to forget everything huh?", he asked sarcastically

Capricorn smiled, " Doesn't seem like a bad idea.

"Maybe not", Zodiac agreed, contemplating how he could redeem himself before his mate.

"It's time to call Zoey"…

Zodiac rolled his eyes as he watched his sister waltz in like a doll.

"Long time no see baby brother"

"Whatever Zo"

"I hear you found your mate, was waiting for the family gathering and an intro"

"Leave me alone"

"You called me dude, watch your mouth", she warned

"Yeah, whatever. I just need you to do what you do best"

"Make assumptions?", she asked

Zodiac huffed

"I can guess you already did something stupid", she continued to taunt him.

"Just take Gray shopping okay?" , he said in exasperation.

"Baby hand over your credit card and it's a deal", she responded quickly.

And just like that he found himself giving up the little black card.

"Her name's Gray", Zodiac mind linked Zoey

Soon after, Zoey was prancing towards the door he pointed to. She knocked twice before a small head peeped in the doorway

"You must be Gray, I'm Zoey", she said with a smile.

Gray raised a brow, before smiling back

"It's time for some seri-ous girl time and I mean it. Come on baby doll, we're going shopping"

Gray was astonished as the pretty girl practically dragged her out. They saw Zodiac on their way out and she bowed her head as she walked past him.

They say in a car and it took off at full speed

"That kid would never give up his card without a fight. I'm so excited to put a dent in his credit ", Zoey whispered excited.

Gray looked at her in amazement. She was full of life and confident enough to call the alpha a kid. She was fascinated by Zoey's aura and found herself smiling at her.

When therms arrived, Zoey headed towards the shoe section. She literally browsed all the boots, seems she was a big fan of them. They bought a few pairs, some heels dresses they'd tried on and even make up.

"I have a feeling, we'll get along great", Zoey commented as they sat in the car on their way back.

"So do you have any family Gray?"

Gray shook her head and smiled " No, just my brother Ridge"

"Yeah, brothers are everything. I have two actually, Zodiac and Zion"

Gray's eyes widened.

"Yeah, if you couldn't already tell by our looks", she whispered

"You're so fun to be with though"

"Everybody says that", she replied with a smile

The girls arrived at Zodiac's home and found him gone. Gray felt relieved in a way that made her feel guilty.

"Allow yourself to feel baby. He's strict and mean sometimes, but he's the sweetest out of us all"

Gray found it hard to believe but she smiled nonetheless. She had gotten comfortable with Zoey. The girl basically told her everything about Zodiac, his embarrassing childhood pranks and pictures. She found herself laughing at everyone of them. He had been undeniably adorable.

"Would have never guessed the alpha had been so mischievous",

"He had everyone at their wits end", Zoey laughed

"There you are Zo", they heard a deep masculine voice behind them. Turning to face the new voice, they saw Zodiac. He walked in with a handsome man with brown hair and striking blue eyes

"Would have never guessed, you find delight in my childhood photos", Zodiac said as he arched a brow at Gray.

Zoey immediately stood up, locking eyes with the blue eyed man. Her stance went from friendly to on-edge under 2seconds. Her glinted with mischief as she held Gray's hand in hers.

"Oh Gray, I don't believe you've met Griffin, he's Zodiac's…beta". The pause between the introduction unnerved Gray and the air grew thick.

There was a sudden tension as Griffin regarded her and Gray gulped. Zoey seemed tense as she looked at Griffin. Gray's nose twitched and suddenly she could pick up a faint smell coming off of the two of them. She broke eye contact with Griffin when Zodiac circled his hand around her waist.

"Pleasure to meet you Luna", blue eyes whispered in a raspy tone.
