22 The Grand Event 4/4

"Can I know why you followed me here... Todoroki?" Kotei asked his schoolmate.

They were currently a few meters apart, looking at each other.

Nobody was in the toilet beside them, and the scene seems quite strange as the aura surrounding them was quite a serious one and their location didn't seem appropriate for that.

"I want to talk to you about... something." The boy replied shortly.

Tilting his head on the side, a habit he took from his blue-haired girlfriend, Kotei opened his mouth to reply, after a very short moment of reflection.

"It seems important to you... But I don't think that the toilets are the best place to talk about it."

"... You are right. I will wait for you outside." Shoto seems to realize that his actions weren't very socially acceptable and turned, giving his back to Kotei, and started to walk toward the door.

Once he was outside, Kotei looked toward the door for a few seconds before turning his attention on his phone.

He received a notification from Nejire, which made him smile a little.

'But before that, I have something to do.' He thought, putting it back in his pocket.

Kotei then walked toward the door and opened it. Once he was outside, he was greeted with the sight of two of his classmates turning back toward him.

"Co-congratulation for winning the trial Juryoku!" The voice belonged to the green-haired boy which was unexpectedly called by Shoto too.

"Thanks, Midoriya." Kotei replied shortly before turning his head toward the other boy.

"Follow me you too, I don't want that what I am going to say is heard by anyone."

After saying that, Shoto turned around and began to walk toward the other side of the corridor, not looking if the two boys are following him or not.

Midoriya turned his head to question Kotei about the situation, but the latter only walked behind the bicolor-haired boy, without casting a look at the smaller boy.

Seeing that he was not going to have any reply now, Izuku could only follow them and keep his thoughts for himself.

A few minutes later, they were all three in front of the exit of the stadium.

Shoto had a face screaming his seriousness about what he is going to announce. His eyes were switching between the almost shivering Izuku which was scared by the cold intimidating atmosphere the boy brought with his gaze and the relaxed Kotei which was about to put a purple lollipop in his mouth.

"First, Midoriya. You blindsided me. So much that I couldn't help but broke my own pledge and use my left side."

'He still has the idea of not going all out?' Kotei asked himself, slightly opening his eyes to look at the guy in front of him.

He himself knew that limiting one's power is very bad as controlling it will become way harder. He previously had to not use the totality of his quirk as his body had a limit that he couldn't go past. But now with the undying fire which heals him as fast as he is hurt, such things are not necessary anymore.

"When we were fighting a few minutes earlier, I felt something that only I or Kotei could feel as we assisted at All Might's full power when he briefly fought the Nomu." Shoto said, bringing his hand close to his face as he seemed to observe something.

After a few seconds of silence, he lifted his eyes toward Izuku and finished what he wanted to say about the boy.

"All Might and you, your powers are the same..."

Almost suddenly, Kotei opened his eyes to look toward the green-haired boy at his side.

He also noticed a few things that Shoto probably missed as he was more expert in human's reaction.

'He seems pretty perturbed by Todoroki's words.' Kotei noted.

"You are All Might's illegitimate child or what?" Shoto finally said, bringing up the more logical explanation.

Kotei turned his head toward the smaller boy as he waited for his reply. Not that he cared about if it was true or not as he wouldn't change anything, but it would satisfy his curiosity.

"Yo-you've got it all wrong! We-well that's exactly what a secret son would say, so I get if you don't believe me, but I swear that's not it..." Stammering on almost every word, and with a shaky voice, Izuku replied to Shoto's accusations. His eyes were also darting everywhere as if to look for help.

"..." Shoto just kept his eyes glued on him, unmoving and silent.

"Obviously, you aren't going to have anything on his relation with All Might, Todoroki." Kotei said, making Izuku leave a sigh of relief, and the other boy's attention was turned on him.

"Tell me why you called me here, if it is all you wanted to say, I won't be pleased for making me lose my time uselessly."

"No, indeed. I wanted to warn you."

"Warn me... of what?" Kotei asked, quite curious about the threat that he couldn't notice.

"I was afraid, afraid of you. When you fought the Nomu your power was so great that you seem to take the role of All Might. I also didn't go all out against you because of this. But be sure that right now, I will come at you with more than a hundred percent." Shoto declared.

"..." Hearing that, Kotei opened his eyes and stared at Todoroki's.

Todoroki could have sworn that the silver-haired boy just looked at his very soul.

But after a few seconds, Kotei simply turned and began to walk away, in a heavy silence.

However, he stopped a few meters from the two boys and opened his mouth.

"Don't disappoint me... Shoto Todoroki. I will be waiting for you at the top." Kotei said, not turning to look back at the boy, and resumed his departure through the corridor leaving his two classmates between themselves.

Hearing that, Shoto kept his gaze on Kotei's back until he disappeared at a turn.

Clenching his fists, he couldn't help but whisper "I won't let you waiting too long..."

Unbeknownst to Kotei, he earned himself an ultimate rival.

'But still, Midoriya has a pretty deep relation with All Might considering all the clues those two left behind them. The question is... what is it?'

"Kotei~!" A voice that he quite liked came interrupting his thoughts as he felt someone moving toward him at a relatively high speed.

Turning his body around and opening his arms quite wide, he received the tackle/hug of his very very cute girlfriend.

"I missed you so much!" The periwinkle-haired girl declared from his arms once she filled her lungs with his scent.

"I missed you too, Nejire." He said hugging her closer.

They then shared a passionate but short kiss.

Short because they were interrupted by the arrival of two guys.

"So you are the famous Kotei Juryoku! I'm Mirio Togata, nice to meet you!" A tall and muscular blonde neared Kotei and Nejire, bringing his hand for a handshake.

Kotei looked at him and moved his hand to receive the handshake.

Once their two hands were going to touch each other, Kotei's hand went through Mirio making the former raise his eyebrow in confusion.

Lifting his eyes toward the older boy, he realized that he got pranked as he was laughing.

"Haha! That's a classic joke! Sorry, let's do it for real this time." He said, reaching out his hand once again.

"No problem." Kotei simply replied, bringing his hand once again.

However, their handshake did not happen, once again as the moment their hands were gonna touch, Mirio's hand was brutally repulsed by a strong gravitational strength. Even if it wasn't enough to hurt, it was quite surprising.

"Kotei Juryoku. Pleased as well, Mirio Togata." Our main character replied, making the older guy smile in excitement.

"Haha! I feel like we are going to be very good friends! Hey Tamaki, don't stay behind present yourself!" Mirio turned toward the guy who came with him a few minutes ago.

"Tamaki Amajiki, class 3-A. Nothing much to say about me." He replied shortly.

"Well, it was nice meeting you. The last trial will begin soon, Nejire we see each other after." Kotei said, giving Nejire a lovely hug and moving toward the arena.

"Beat them all Kotei! I will cheer for you!" Nejire said, shadowboxing.

Kotei simply lifted his right hand in the air, giving her a thumbs up.

Once Kotei arrived in the arena, his gaze fell upon the 15 students which were waiting for the moment where Midnight was going to announce how the tournament will happen.

A few seconds later, the r-rated hero came on the stage and made her whip crack, bringing all eyes on her.

"This is the final trial, your final chance to shine! The tournament will be organized in one on one fights and here are the matchups!" She declared at the same moment, a digital board where every qualified student's name was displayed.

Midoriya vs Shinsou

Todoroki vs Sero

Shiozaki vs Kaminari

Iida vs Hatsume

Ashido vs Juryoku

Tokoyami vs Yaoyorozu

Tetsutetsu (A/N: I swear, his name is such a pain) vs Kirishima

Uraraka vs Bakugou

'It's will be quite... fun.' Kotei thought, seeing the matchups.

"But first, some recreation, as the stage will be made in a few minutes!" Present Mic's voice was heard.

'It will be useful for the people who must take some of their strain off. Well, whatever I will just go see Nejire.'

-*-*-*-

Minutes went past quite quickly as the battle's stage was finally over thanks to Cementoss's help.

"Thank you Cementoss! Are you guys reaaaady?!" The loud hero shouted as always.

"It's here that you will brawl! And the only person you can rely on is yourself! Everybody mobilize and get your butts out here!"

'The first fight is Midoriya against the purple-haired boy right?' Kotei thought, sitting on the bleachers of his class. He was the first one as he could hear some of his classmates making their way here.

'He said something about not losing and doing his best... It would be a shame if he was defeated before going against Todoroki.' A small smirk appeared on Kotei's handsome face.

A smirk that very few could recognize as a mocking one.

'Who knows... He will maybe go against odd and win. After all, even though he can't use his quirk, he is quite smart.'

"The first fight will begin! Midoriya from 1-A versus Shinsou from 1-C!"
