646. Road to Power

Meanwhile, in Phixheim, Alexander had decided to do something major. This was the only way he could imagine himself getting better with his powers. He was already 70 per cent as strong as God. 30 per cent was left but it was proving very hard to get stronger at this stage. Even a 0.1 increment came after a lot of work.

Alexander got up from his small meditation session after spooking Douglas. He just had a thought that to become stronger, he needs to practice a lot, and for that, he needs a lot of time. The time that he does not have.

What happened with the confrontation with Ravenflame was a wake-up call that Zulrak was not slowing down anytime soon. In fact, he had gotten faster. He also found out that Ravenflame was stronger than him, Zulrak was stronger than Ravenflame. This would make him very weak in front of Zulrak.

~I guess it's time to go back to that depressing hell hole, ~ he muttered to himself.

He first went to Olivia to tell her. She was asleep at the moment so he went to talk to her in the bedroom. He had not gone to sleep in his room for months now and he also felt bad for that. But, he had decided to make up for all of this after all this mess was solved.

"Haha..."

When he got there, he heard laughs coming from the room. He entered silently and saw Olivia, Natasha, Medusa, Rina, Gali, Amy, Ciri and Hela sitting on the bed in a circle. In the middle were lots of photo albums. There were Thea and Erika too but they were asleep.

Olivia showed them a picture of Alexander's childhood. He was 9 years old in this and was wearing a Captain America T-shirt. He had a big smile on his face.

"He looks so happy," Medusa said.

Olivia smiled looking at the picture, "Yeah, he told me about this picture. In his orphanage, every 3 months, the locals would donate their used clothes. But, these kids would have to compete to get their favourite clothes. Superhero prints were famous back then and your grandpa was into superheroes at that time. So, he had to defeat 10 kids in rock-paper-scissors. He told me that he was using some mind tricks and making other kids make the move he wanted them to make."

"He was smart from an early age," Natasha said. By now, she already knew about the comics and stuff. In the start, it was weird for her that so many people knew about her life that she tried to keep a secret. But, then she found out that even her alternate reality selves also had their lives made into comics. She, in fact, had fun reading about those. All those what-ifs were interesting, but still, she regarded this life of hers as the most blessed.

"Yeah, that was like a curse for him though. Because in just a year, he stopped liking superheroes as he realised that such things could never be true in reality." Olivia replied with a sigh.

"Hehe, look at Grandpa running away from those men... I mean women." Amy laughed, picking up another image.

"He looks terrified," Hela added.

*Cough*

"It seems I have been made a laughing stock again, well, grandpa is happy as long as you all are happy." He interjected and sat beside Olivia.

He put his arm around Olivia's shoulder and turned the pages of the album. The kids chuckled seeing them like this.

"What are you looking for?" Olivia asked as she looked at his face.

"Nothing, just looking for that picture of you where you fell in the rain and got covered in the mud," Alexander said.

Olivia burst into laughter when she remembered that, "Hahaha... I remember. Then I ran after you to hug you."

"Then you fell again. Oh, I miss my clumsy Olivia." Alexander happily reminisced.

Olivia raised her thin eyebrows, "Really? I was clumsy. Tell me, who was the one that would forget to wear shoes every day while leaving for work?"

Alexander shook his head and softly tugged Olivia's hair being her ear, "My dear Oli, you were more clumsy."

Olivia did the same as she tucked Alexander's hair that was not much shorter than hers behind his ear. "My dear Alex, I can keep on going all day."

*Cough*

"Guys, I think we should leave them alone," Rina spoke suddenly.

Embarrassingly, Alexander and Olivia stopped looking into each other's eyes.

Alexander got up, "No no, stay here. I came to tell Oli that I will be going to train myself alone. To you all, it might just be a day or few but there, millions of years will have passed."

Olivia got up and put one arm on his shoulder, "I won't stop you but take care. I don't want you to turn cynical on me now."

Alexander chuckled, "I know. I will take care of myself. Okay, see you later."

With that, he went out to Buddha. To tell him what he was going to do.

"I agree with your decision. You need silence and peace to truly delve into your mind. Go, you will surely have some kind of progress. Remember, be one with the surroundings. But to do that, try to learn your surroundings first" Buddha suggested.

Of course, his words weren't that simple. He didn't tell him to look at the scenery around him. But it was something else. Something not visible to the eyes.

Alexander again went to the uninhabited planet in his Solar system. This time, he was going to the extreme. Each minute there would be 1 million years outside in Phixheim. So, each day is nearly 1.4 billion years.

Alexander doesn't want to be away from his family for too long so he hopes to not take very long. But still, he didn't take the chances and put this highest limit on.

~Okay... Let's get going.~

He sat down cross-legged on a flat stone. Closed his eyes and tried to return to the state he was before in. He wanted to see everything, from the past, present to the future at the same time.

He just stayed silent and sat for an unknown amount of time. In his mind, he learnt the secrets of omniscience.

Somewhere in Omniverse

Meanwhile, Saitama was finding and hunting Zulrak's army like a bee searching for juicy flowers.

"Hahaha... your free run ends today, bald man. I, Fishvagina, will be the end of you. I have brought 1 million demons with me. But, if you want, I can bring you to God Zulrak too. He is benevolent and will give you a place in his army. With your strength, you can easily be my assistant." Fishvagina shouted.

Saitama didn't reply. Each time he came across Zulrak's army divisions, their commanders always talked like this.

"DEATH PUNCH"

*BOOM* *BOOM*

Saitama without thinking much-bombarded punches towards the army. Like constant bombs falling, instantly, a wave crossed by them, turning the million demon army into a paste as it went further. Fishvagina died while crying in shock and despair.

He realised too late that Saitama was way past the level for being his assistant and he had also offended him by calling him bald.

"DAMN YOUUUUU..." Fishvagina shouted as his inevitable death came.

*Foo*

Saitama blew on his fist as if it was a gun. "Too weak."

After that, he jumped to the next coordinate. He soon appeared over the space of a planet that looked like Earth but seemed to be invaded by demons, apparent by its burning texture. Not just that, some other planets in the solar system were too attacked.

"Okay, let's start."
