39 Meeting the Father :- 1

Claude's father didn't understand his son's sudden reaction but he thought that at least it seemed better than before. To understand his son's sudden reaction he casted the same spell again.

" Linage Flames,"

The hugging son and father duo got covered in white flames. Claude's father came to know of all the emotions and memories his son has gone through. He felt his grieving of Ellen's death, his pain and suffering, his hatred for other people as well as his unending love for his people.

When Claude finally calmed down he separated himself from his father. He looked at his father with expectant eyes as he knew that his father knows about all of his memories. He was waiting for a reply or anything that could divert him from this unending desire to just hug his father as he was too embarrassed.

" Amber, really went too far, huh ?....."

When his father said this Claude had a surprised expression on his face. After a few seconds he looked at his father with a dry look. The look was not cold or carrying any intent; it was just an expression.

" What ?" Claude's father asked, noticing the gaze of his son.

" The first thing you talked about was that woman when the person who was the nearest thing to be called my mother died right in front of my eyes." Claude said to his father.

"..." His father looked at him confused as if Claude was forgetting something.

" Oh, right, you don't know about it ?" Claude's father finally asked after a few minutes of silence.

" I don't even know your name if you ask me." Claude gave him a sharp look with a childish ' humph '.

" Well, nice try but I won't tell you my name because I know how you are my son. You will definitely try to find out about me in the outside world and I don't want you to know about my past. It's not like I don't want you to know but not now. There are some secrets which you will be able to open yourself when you open them and I think it is the right time I will tell everything to you." Claude's father said with a helpless smile.

Claude didn't pry too much into the matter as even if he doesn't tell his name, Claude will definitely try to know about him in the outside world. Claude's father knew this but didn't say anything.

" So the thing I can tell you is that when I died I was 486 years old." When he said it Claude flinched for a moment but remembered that your lifespan increases as a awakened upto ten times. His father didn't even complete half of the normal lifespan of an awakened human.

" One of the curse of being awakened is that you live longer than your peers. In short you watch people younger than you die. Awakened has many rules that's why even if you want to you can't awaken everyone. Even though Ellen was important to you she would have one day or the other die before you." He explained.

" But…. still….." Claude wanted to retort but his logical thinking agreed with what he said.

" See Claude, if you ask me the death of Ellen was a good thing if I think about it as your father." When he said that Claude was burning with anger.

" How so ?" Claude asked.

" Because this taught you the curse of long lifespan or eternity. You will be able to survive disasters they can't." He said.

Even though they were just two sentences Claude understood the deep meaning about it.

" And I respect this woman named Ellen because she understood you better than anyone." He continued.

" What she told to her son was the truth. Claude you are matured for your age due to your past memories but that does not mean you are not a child. There are some traits that implies to you as well. One of them is habits. Children see what people around them do and copy it. Slowly but steadily their personality also changes or gets created by the influence of the people around them."

" In your case your mind is being influenced by your past memories and your current circumstances. From your past memories you knew the cruelty of the world and from your current circumstances you decided to become cold and cruel towards everything due to it. Your mindset, personality, thinking and the way you look at the world completely changed just because of the death of Ellen. Now think of it that way if Ellen was indifferent towards you or worse she was cruel towards you would you have cared about her whether she lived or died, no."

" The older you grow the more you get used to the things happening around. But what happened in your childhood or the first phase of your life influences your growth. And if I have to say about how you have grown till now then you have become cold, cruel and selfish towards everything. You don't care about the path but the goal. Which is as good as much as it is bad but let's not talk about that now. It's your life after all, I am just a guide how you want to walk depends on you." He concluded.

" Your relationship with Amber has worsened it seems but you have tried your best. Now if she really wants you or not depends on her." He said with a sorrowful expression. He really wanted Amber and Claude to become family again but he also knows the past can never be forgotten. Even if in future Claude and Amber's relationship improves Claude will never forget what she had done in the past.

" Well, let's talk about something else. Just like before, I am going to teach you a few things this time as well which are important for you." He said.
