71 Dinner

" Claude, let's go have dinner." Suddenly a cherry voice was heard while Claude was reading the book regarding different disciplines.

When Claude looked around he saw Elise standing at the door. She was wearing a normal dress to suit the night.

" I will have my dinner in my room. Ask a servant to bring it to me." Claude replied while hiding the fact that his heart was racing due to the conversation earlier.

" Boo~, Everyone wants to meet you so grandpa asked you to come have dinner in the dining room." Elise with an annoyed look like she was saying 'I am inviting you yet you are refusing.'

Sigh...

" Fine, I'll come." Claude leaves Elise flabbergasted.

" ....I thought you won't agree that's why I was prepared for an argument." Elise said while looking at him with suspicion.

" Just what do you think about me!?" Claude asked, a bit annoyed by the fact she was talking about.

Claude will surely have argued but he knew that he can't win against Elise, at least not in verbal fights.

" An egoistic, self centred bastard." Elise replied with pure honesty in her eyes.

" Fine, then I am not coming." Claude which caused Elise to flinch. She came in front of him and said with a puppy stare :-

" No,no,no Claude please come with me. Grandpa has asked to bring you with me."

Claude had a glare on his face which scared Elise a bit but it was not a threatening glare or anything like that. The reason why Claude has a glare on his face is because his mind went blank due to cuteness overload. He somehow recovered and he said :-

" F-fine,"

" Okay then let's go." Elise said, walking towards the door.

' She is not being fair!!' Claude thought.

They both walked towards the dining room of the palace. Elise asked small questions regarding Aura and swordsmanship from time to time and Claude answered them.

They finally reached the door leading to the dining room. Even though she hid it well Claude still was able to notice Elise taking a deep breath as if she was preparing for something. Claude didn't understand what was on her mind but his expression became cold looking towards the door.

" I brought him." Elise said with a smile while opening the door.

Claude saw a beautiful dining room with a long dining table. The table was long but not too grandiose as it was made from normal birch wood. The chairs had cushions on them for comfortable sitting.

Claude saw a few people he didn't recognise except for Dante who was sitting at the head table. Elise walked towards her chair while Claude followed her. Elise sat right beside Dante while Claude sat right beside her.

" So you are that knight's child, huh ?" A woman who was sitting in front of Claude said. She actually wanted to say it with more disdain and disgust but seeing Claude's charms her toning automatically changed.

" Sorry, my lady but my father is not a knight but a swordsman." Claude replied with a charming smile which caused the girls on the table to blush slightly.

" Y-yes, that….." The woman wanted to say something more but her words got stuck in her throat.

" Hoho, Claude had already started doing magic on the people in the palace it seems." Dante said with a small laugh.

" Let me introduce you to my family members." Dante suggested.

" The person who is sitting in front of you is my daughter-in-law, Laila." He said, pointing at the milf-ish woman.

"The person sitting beside her is my granddaughter and my third and youngest grandchild, Sia. She is also a year younger than you." He said referring to the girl who looked like the mini version of the woman from before.

" The one who is sitting on her other side is my daughter and my second and youngest child, Tina" He said referring to the woman beside the milf-ish woman. The woman was not thicc nor beautiful, she was average.

" The boy beside you is my grandson, Derick. He is my eldest grandchild and he is a year older than you. He will soon be giving the annual mage examination." Dante said and after that finally Claude looked at the boy who was sizing him up from the first step he took into the room.

The boy, when noticed that his grandfather was talking about him, finally decided to stop staring at Claude and gave him a small smile. Claude returned that smile.

The food was brought into the room and served on the table. Everyone started eating but Claude was actually feeling a bit weird because from the first step taken in the room Elise had not opened his mouth to say a single word.

He also noticed another weird thing everyone was actually ignoring Elise like she did even exist in them.

" So you are also going to give the entrance examination to the imperial academy ?" The boy asked while eating his food.

" Yes." When Claude said that everyone present in the room started laughing while Dante and Elise focused on their food.

" Sometimes it's better to know your limits, child. I don't want to demotivate you but imperial academy is not anybody's thing." The daughter of Dante said.

" Well, actually it is his thing. He has already mastered tier 3 spells of every basic element except for holy and abyss." When Dante casually said that everyone in the room flinched and looked at him but he kept eating his food.

" Y-you are joking right, father ?" His daughter asked while her eyes widened.

" When did I start to joke with you ?" Dante said without even looking at her.

" Show me the proof!!" Dante's grandson suddenly stood up and shouted.

Claude didn't say anything but he lifted his hand while the 5 elements fire, water, earth, wind, lightning, ice and darkness appeared on his hand. Everyone stared at him with amusement.

Even though Elise didn't say anything Claude noticed a small smile appearing on her face.
