19 Chapter 19: Alliance?

08:50 pm 'Atlantic Ocean;...4 days later.

The Leviathan air jet was speeding through the skies at high speed, inside the ship Dr.Veritas was briefing Arias and Harley about the situation.

"Zero picked a report of a cargo ship carrying minors both meta and normal to an off shore facility for what I can only assume is awakening experiments. We're going to intercept them before they reach the facility's area of observation. I already leaked reports of the carrier to multiple meta rights organizations so it won't be long before we have company".

Arias smiled and took his hands off the round table and praised Dr.Veritas then went over the plan of attack.

"Impeccable as always Shay. Alright then, the plan is simple. Neutralize the enemy combatants as quick as possible by any means necessary before getting those kids out of those containers by the time any heroes, meta rights or anyone else for that show up".

Harley had her trusty bat on her back which she named Bonnie and her Plasma gun on her hip which she called Clyde. A huge smile crept up on her face before she licked her luscious lips and spoke.

"This is gonna be fun. I got tired of sitting around all day".

Arias ignored the crazy look in her eyes as the ship caught up to the carrier. His abysmal smoke began hovering around him as her walked towards the exit of the ship. Harley only stretched her arms out before prancing towards Arias.

Dr.Veritas put the ships defensive measures on should anything occur before following the pair closely behind.

Once directly above the carrier they jumped out of the ship. Arias landed with enough force to make the whole carrier shake while Dr.Veritas stayed in the air and also helped Harley land using her telekinesis.

Dr.Veritas passed numerous guards before heading for the carrier's inner quarters where she encountered countless guards. She threw multiple ultra sonic grenades causing the whole inner carrier to be filled with a deafening Screech. Making who ever heard it wish they where deaf, afterwards she casually walked towards the helm incapacitating anyone she came across.

Arias and Harley on the other hand cleared the guards on the surface with ease. Arias used hit and go tactics, those he hit where either in pain from having broken bones or knocked unconscious from the force of blow.

Harley run round the ship aiming for the enemies legs with Clyde before shooting them with the plasma mode which shot right through the leg most times. Whenever they went on their knees she would then wack them with Bonnie, leaving most unconscious.

5 minutes in and the enemies where completely cleared. Dr.Veritas flew into the air before using her telekinesis to open the containers all at once. Harley decided to satisfy her boredom by stripping the conscious enemies and throwing them into the ocean. As for the unconscious ones they too where stripped but instead of the ocean they where just piled on top of each other.

"What? I'm disarming them..."

Arias ignored Harley's antics while Dr.Veritas freed the children then began guiding them to a wider area. Soon however, another Jet came above the carrier. 3 figures flew down while two jumped out. The kids looked wide eyed at the site of Superman, Martian ManHunter and Wonder Woman flying towards them. As for the two that jumped down these where Batman and The flash.

The Flash quickly ran through the whole inner carrier before telling Batman his findings while shaking his head.

"Everyone inside is out cold but not mortally wounded".

Batman nodded at the Flash's words before speaking.

"Something seems off..."

Just as he finished his sentence he heard shouting coming from the ocean.

"Help please it's freezing in here".

"Please we surrender".

"We didn't know what was in there we swear".

Numerous guards shouted pleas to the Dark Knight. He clicked a button on his mask and it's eyes began to glow blue as he looked around before setting his sight on the only closed container written " Do Not Disturb " with what looked to be lipstick.

The flash appeared by Batman's side before they opened the container, what they found was a pile of naked bodies on top of each other. Batman furrowed his brows while The Flash looked at the scene with a puzzled expression.

"What in tha-".

Meanwhile on the other side of the carrier Wonder Woman, Superman and Martian Man Hunter where standing between the kids and Arias, Harley and Dr.Veritas. Recognizing only Harley Superman addressed her first.

"What are you doing here Harley and what's joker's part in all this".

Hearing the mention of joker Harley's cheery expression turned sour before she defended herself.

"That asshole left me to die and then almost killed me, I haven't seen him in months. I work for Mr. Adriel here, he took me in".

She said proudly while pointing at the tall figure clad in black next to her.

Martian ManHunter focused on Harley momentarily before speaking.

"She speaks the truth".

The trios eyes turned to the tall figure she pointed at but before anyone could voice out their questions Batman and The Flash appeared.

"Care to explain what happened here and why they are people in the ocean and container naked?"

Batman asked as he walked towards the group with a stern expression on his face. Harley had a smug look on her face as everyone turned to her but surprisingly the one who answered was Dr.Veritas.

"We got reports of a carrier carrying a huge number of children to take to an offshore facility so we came to intercept them here, am sure you got my message or you wouldn't be here Mr.Wayne ...as for the them..."

Dr.veritas paused and used her telekinesis to bring up the enemies Harley threw into the ocean before continuing to speak, ignoring the surprised look Batman now showed.

"We thought it best to neutralize them till you arrived and seeing that you are here I'd say our presence is no longer needed don't you agree?"

Dr.Veritas finally finished speaking and began to fly up but was stopped by Superman who appeared next to her and held her hand.

"We're not done here, hacking league systems, harboring a criminal and not to mention how badly injured those people are. You're coming with us...Dr.Veritas".

Batman spoke with a serious expression on his face.

Dr.Veritas looked at the hand that firmly held hers before her calm voice expressed her irritation.

"It seems I'm quite well known now. Since you already know of me, then you must be aware I'm a very busy woman. So I dislike having my time wasted the most".

As she spoke these words her suit began to glow green as it radiated kryptonite rays around a 100 meter radius. Superman's body trembled and he let her hand go. Then as he did so she kicked him in the gut before sending him crashing into the surface of the carrier.

"You always were overconfident Kal-El".

She continued to speak without calmly while flying towards him.

Seeing this Batman tried to detain Harley and Arias but was sent flying by Bonnie before he could act. Wonder Woman then reacted quickly and threw a fist at Harley but it was blocked by Arias's palm, she quickly jumped back and spoke to her comrades.

"ManHunter help Superman. Flash , Batman and I will handle these two".

Harley tightened the grip on her bat while wearing a bright smile. Arias however didn't even take a battle stance as he looked at Wonder Woman.

"Harley activate your shield and stay close"

Harley did as instructed before they faced the barrage of attacks. Flash tried to attack from behind but was elbowed by arias before flying back into one of the containers. Wonder Woman flew into the air and then threw her lasso towards the pair and managed to get it wrapped around one of Arias's arms.

She tried to pull but to no avail and instead opted for a different approach.

"Who are you!"

As she spoke the lasso began to glow. Arias looked at it before raising his head and replying in a sarcastic tone.

"I'm Batman".

Wonder Woman's eyes widened in shock at his response.

"By Hera! But how do you-"

Not giving her a chance to finish her statement Arias pulled the lasso bringing Wonder Woman towards him before gripping her neck tight.

"Enough stand down!"

Batman quickly shouted.

"Finally someone with some sense".

Dr.Veritas's voice reached everyone's ears before she came into full view walking towards her teammates shocking almost everyone at the scene. In one hand she dragged Superman and In the other Martian ManHunter.

"Did they pose a challenge?"

Arias teasingly asked the Doctor but she just let out a smile and answered proudly.

"For one, I made multiple counter measures for even before I arrived here and met you and the other tried to attack my mind and as you can see, my defensive measures came out on top".

Batman wore a grim expression.

'Just who are those two really, is she really the same renowned scientist?'.

Batman thought to himself before deciding antagonizing them directly would be a fatal mistake.

"Let's stop for a moment and talk"

Batman quickly suggested once all the members had recovered to some extent.

"We can either form a mutually beneficial temporary alliance or you can stay out of our way."

Arias finally spoke seriously to the group of heroes.Batman furrowed his brows his brows before responding.

"What kind of alliance?".

Arias smiled at his question before responding.

"The league shouldn't interfere in how I do things and it will gain an unofficial helper to assist in matters like let's say the war with Darkseid slowly approaching"

Before the others could voice there thoughts Batman answered.

"We agree".

Before sticking out his hand which Arias promptly shook.

"Perfect, shall we discuss this further with your entire group after finishing up here?"

Batman only nodded at his question then the flash decided to ask what was bothering him.

"How do we know we can trust you or anything you say."

Arias looked at him and gave a simple answer that satisfied the mans doubts.

"Simple. This way you won't die".
