Chapter 146: The Fall Of Earth’s Mightiest

"Looks like they've placed all hope in you... Sentry." Arias muttered as he looked at the figure standing in front of him casually.

Sentry also looked at Arias rather cautiously as deep down he was surprised he got here so fast. "Where's the hulk?" Sentry asked but Arias only smirked in response making him feel even more unnerved.

The coalition of governments were indeed confident in Sentry's abilities and placed their hopes in him but even they didn't account for one thing... human emotions.

And the emotion Sentry found himself feeling right now was fear. The abilities of the man standing before him clearly went above and beyond what he was confident in doing as he hadn't been Sentry for that long.

"I can sense your fear you know... the fear that you'll fail, the fear that you'll let down millions of people, the fear that you might die today." Arias began to slowly walk over to Sentry causing him to gulp and ready himself for action.

As Arias got closer the White House behind Sentry vanished and the skies grew dim. "You're right, I am scared to die but I'll still give my all and at least take you with me." Sentry's eyes glowed a bright yellow goldish color as he extended his hands forward and shot two beams of light towards Arias.

'Moving the White House so that he can go all out I see.' Arias thought before casually swatting away the beams of pure energy coming towards him.

Sentry furrowed his brows and burst forward before launching numerous punches towards him at a speed that surpassed that of sound.

*boom!*

With each punch a loud sonic boom could be heard but with each punch came a well timed block that rivaled.

Sentry failed to land a single on Arias's body. "Don't you see." Arias spoke before shifting gears and landing a powerful onto Sentry's chest.

He felt his entire bones creak and his internal organs shake before being sent flying back.

"It's pointless to fight against me. The whole point of Independence is so the world can know this. No matter how much you struggle, no matter how much you try... it will never amount to anything in my presence." Arias patted the dust off his suit before sighing and walking over to Sentry who laid on shattered ground.

"So that's it huh? You're just a power hungry man looking to stand above others. You enjoy it don't you? Looking down on others and thinking whatever you say is right... well you're wrong. Humans have their faults but that's just part of life! Your twisted vision will see us lose what makes humans humans and I don't support that!" Sentry struggled to get back up but his injuries weren't at all serious and he looked ready to continue fighting.

Arias came to a stop a few meters away from him and crossed his arms before rubbing his chin.

"You're right, when I first got a taste of power I enjoyed looking down on those lesser than myself but the more powerful I grew the more the world looked different to me."

"It was no longer the vibrant world I wished to be king of but instead a cease pool of everything I hated about human nature. Humans can never truly change and I'm not looking to make them do so. What I'm doing is simply removing the weeds preventing humanity from growing."

"Greedy bastards who only care about themselves and achieving singular wealth. How much money was used in the experiments to make you what you are? They created a human with the power of a million exploding suns but failed to reduce world hunger or even cure cancer? What a joke."

The more Arias spoke the more Sentry began to question his own words. Was he fighting for the wrong cause? Was there even a right side to all of this? He couldn't find the answer. "Enough! You're just twisting words to suit your own agenda. Whatever the case I don't support your methods."

Sentry spoke before his entire body got cloaked in a bright bubbling energy that matched the glow of his eyes.

The energy continued to rise and rise at an extremely staggering rate, even causing the ground beneath them to start falling apart. "I don't know wether I'm right or wrong but I choose to oppose whatever twisted vision you have for the world!" He yelled out before his glow reached a point where it was blinding.

He stretched his hands out forward and sent out a gigantic beam of energy that completely engulfed Arias's figure.

"Argh!!!" Sentry put his all into the attack until he couldn't fire it any longer. Now his body felt weak and his vision became blurry as he hovered in what was now a space with numerous debris hovering around.

"So that was the power of a million exploding suns, no wonder they made you fight me in a pocket dimension." Arias's voice brought panic to Sentry who quickly raised his head only to see Arias hovering a few meters above him.

Arias then stretched out one hand towards the already weak Sentry and prepared to finish things. "A shame we couldn't see eye to eye but at least you'll get to experience the power of a trillion exploding suns as you die."

Arias closed his fist and the entire space got engulfed in a burning yellow light with numerous booms resounding throughout.

When the light finally faded not a single trace of life aside from Arias was left. "In the end wrong or right depends on the perspective. What a pointless death." Arias thought before vanishing from the pocket dimension.
