Doomfyre's history-House Doomfyre was the most powerful of the old Dragonlord Houses of Valyria. This was the case for a very long time, until it was not anymore. When the Doom arrived it killed everyone in Valyria, except the Doomfyres. The Doomfyres possess a special gene that lets them wield fire magic with great ease. This power makes them totally immune to fire unlike other Dragonlords, and protected them from the Doom.

Seeing that everything was destroyed and pretty unhospitable, the Head of House Doomfyre at the time, Corlys Doomfyre, evacuated his house to Skagos. There they easily conquered the island because they had five dragons. They subjugated the local clans of Stane, Crowl, and Magnar. Making them into proper Valyrian houses, in style. Doomfyres is also the overlord of House Dynerison. A house that was founded by one of the bastards of Corlys Doomfyre, he saw fit to grant the bastard land because there was not many Valyrians left.

The Doomfyres have had a rivalry with House Targaryen ever since they arrived on the shores of Westeros. The Targaryens did not like that the Doomfyres had many dragons that were very powerful. This threatened their power. House Targaryen did not recognize that House Doomfyre was peaceful and only wished to use their power to maintain internal peace and order.

During the Dance of the Dragons House Doomfyre backed the Greens under King Aegon II. This led to the sack of the Dreadfort when the Doomfyres used their dragons to completely destroy the Western northerners under the Boltons. This assault left the Dreadfort a pile of rubble. House Doomfyre put every to the sword. Then they installed a branch house in the Dreadfort. Since securing mainland power, House Doomfyre has since lost their dragons to old age and the decline of magic. They have predominantly remained peaceful on their well-defended island home since.

Yes it is Smaug, and he will be able to speak but when he does it will be like a universal language so that no matter what language they speak everyone will be able to understand him.

I don't know exactly how big Smaug was so I am gonna say that Grimm is Twice as big as the black Dread.

I have not been able to find accurate sizes of the dragons so later in chapter 4 I address this👍
