1 chapter one: i

jimin strode his way to the store, a mask and cap covering his face from the public as he tried to hide his face from the public for the fear of sasaengs or the cameras might see him.

he got in the store, looking around first before heading into the isle of the snacks.

he lost in the game the boys had so for punishment, he had to buy snacks for everyone. it was acceptable enough for a punishment, considering its from them.

"are you getting that? cause if you aren't, then i will." a voice spoke from beside him, making him flinch a bit from where he was standing.

"i'm sorry, you can take it." jimin shook his head before handing the girl the snack he was about to get.

"you don't have to if you want it, you were the first one anyways." she shrugged and went to look for other snacks.

jimin watched as the girl tried to look for a snack, he saw how the girl would get a snack and afterwards place it back to its place.

"you can really have it, i can just look for others." jimin insisted, reaching the snack out for the girl.

she smiled, "if you say so." she took it from his hands, making slight contact that made jimin's cheeks red.

"what's your name?" he blurted out of nowhere and the girl stared at him, eyes not blinking.

"hyerin." she introduced herself, making jimin smile wider behind the mask.

"i'm jimin." his eyes beaming of happiness as he thought he made a new friend, and its finally a girl.

"well jimin, I have to go and pay for this now. i guess i'll see you around?" hyerin gave a faint smile before heading to the counter to pay for her so-called dinner.

-

well, i guess i'll be having biscuits again for dinner. she tried to be positive about it.

the girl was having a tough time trying to make money, with all the debt her dad has left for her to pay, even if she worked for 10 jobs everyday, it wouldn't be enough.

she had stopped going to school as she couldn't afford the tuition fees that had to be paid, she had a younger cousin to take care of and to survive a day is what's important to her, so biscuits or any other food that she could afford for 5000 wons would end up as her dinner.

grabbing the plastic, she took one quick glance to the guy she has just met and made her way to one of the night markets to buy some dinner for her cousin, jaehyun.

"rice cakes and some ramen please, thanks." she ordered, checking her wallet only to find out that there was no money left for her.

she got home and greeted her cousin who has been patiently waiting for her to arrive home, going straight to her arms and giving her a tight hug.

"noona, what's for dinner?" the 5-year old kid asked, gently grabbing the plastic brought by hyerin.

hyerin carried the boy into her arms and made their way to the kitchen, "your favorite, of course." she smiled and placed the boy into a chair.

"yay! that's why you're my favorite cousin." he cheered as he waited for hyerin to bring out the food from the plastic, eyes not leaving it.

"i am your only cousin, jaehyunie." hyerin chuckled at his younger cousin's words.

she placed the boy's dinner in front of him and the kid started to dig in, hyerin smiled as she stared at jaehyun eating well, as long as he gets to eat properly then everything's fine, she thought.

"are you not gonna eat, noona?" jaehyun asked before slurping in the ramen.

"i already ate dinner, don't worry." she half-lied, well she will be eating dinner later, but then it was just some snacks.

"say ah!" jaehyun said as he was about to give a spoonful of ramen to hyerin, she gladly accepted it and savoured the flavor of the soup. how long was it since the last time i tasted that? she asked herself, maybe long enough.

after jaehyun finished his meal, hyerin slurped up the remaining soup from the ramen and started to eat the snacks she brought from the store, as she stared at the snack, she was then reminded by the guy from earlier.

have i seen him somewhere? i'm pretty sure i've had, he looks familiar.

"noona, tuck me to bed please." jaehyun was standing in front of her, a teddy bear hanging loosely in his hand.

"of course, lets go." grabbing his free hand, both went to the boy's room and hyerin tucked in the little boy as he wished. "sleep tight, jaehyunie."

"hmm." the boy nodded before drifting to sleep, hugging the stuff toy in his arms tightly.

hyerin left the door opened a bit and went to hers, changing into some comfy clothes, she went straight to bed and slowly made her way to dreamland.
