9 chapter 9

The next morning I said good bye to my brother and went outside with a nurse to wait for Mrs. Haruka. I was so tired from how little I had slept the night before and not to mention how panicked I am right now. before I knew it her car pulled up and she rolled down her window and waved "hey sorry for the wait."

"No problem, I wasn't waiting that long." Not sure whether she was talking to me or the nurse but I answered anyways. I got in the car and the nurse went around and handed her the paper work, she quickly filled it out and handed back to her, we waved good bye and then we were off.

I quickly forgot how nervous I was when we started driving through the big city, there were so many people and the tallest buildings I had ever seen in my entire life. It was just like on tv, I could hardly believe I was in the big city.

"Now then there is something we need to talk about, there has been a slight change in plans."

Haruka said.

"Change in plans?" I said nervously.

"Yes, well it seems that someone has already asked to adopt you, which works out good because our foster homes are actually pretty. Apparently she saw the news about your home town and wanted to adopt a child to help out. Naturally I'm not just gonna drop you off there and leave, so we are gonna treat this in a special case considering the circumstances and you will be living with them as a foster child with regular check ups from a social worker until the adoption papers got through and they are approved to adopt you. But for now they are approved to be foster care parents if that helps put you at ease, they are a fairly well off family and they have daughter the same age as you. So your gonna have a sister, which should make things easier for you to adjust to the city and your new school. So any questions?"

"Um, are they gonna let me see my brother?" I mumbled

"Um well, I don't think they should have any reason not to so probably yes but that is something you can ask them." She replied

Before I had a chance to ask anything else we were pulling into a parking garage of a huge building.

"Ok, so we're here. Ready to go in?"

"Ya, I guess." In truth I could have used some more time to mentally prepare myself for this, but there was no time left for that.
