8 Chapter 8

She handed me several papers and a pen.

"Now then since most of yours and your brothers information was burned in the fire I'm gonna need you to fill out these papers about your guys information as best you can. If there is anything you don't know, feel free to leave it blank.

After a few minutes I was able to fill out most of the information and handed the papers back to her.

"Alright thank you, now since we haven't been able to locate any relatives and you haven't been able to contact any. You and your brother will be going into the foster care system, your brother will be staying here in the hospital for treatment as I understand it, and you'll be coming with me to a foster home until you're adopted. I understand that this has been hard on you and your probably still a little confused about what's going on so feel free to ask me any questions you have and if you need anything."

"Um, no cant say that anything comes to mind right now." My head was spinning from everything she was telling me, not to mention I've been panicking since she walked through the door.

"OK, that's good. Here is my card, I'll be back tomorrow morning to pick you up and we'll be heading to your foster home. Feel free to call me at any point if anything is wrong or if you simply have a question." She said as she stood and turned to the doctor.

"I'll be leaving now, I'll be here tomorrow around 8 to pick her up."

"Alright, I'll be sure to get her ready and any paper work you'll need to fill out." He replied as he shook her hand.

She left, and all I could keep thinking about was the fact that I was gonna be separated from my brother. I didn't know how far away I was gonna be, I should have asked her but I was to panicked to think then. The doctor told me before he left to pack up anything I had, not like I had much though I only had my school bag, my school books and supplies and my gym uniform. After packing up that small amount of stuff I went to bed, I cant say I really slept though I kind of just laid there all night thinking about what was gonna happen and where I was gonna go tomorrow morning.
