3 Chapter 3

I saw the whole town was up in flames. I could hardly believe my eyes, this town was my home. The place where I grew up,it was everything I knew, it was true that someday I had dreamed of leaving and going to the big city...but not like this.

What could have happened, where was everybody from town? Did they make it out ok? My mind suddenly went blank and I simply fell to my knees unsure what to do or where to go. I could faintly hear someone calling my name but who was is it, who was calling me.

"Ma! May! May! Maya! Maya are you ok"

I suddenly heard my friend talking to me as she shook me back to my senses.

"What?" I stuttered

"What are you doing we have to get out of here the fires spreading to the school!Come on get up we gotta go!"

She said as she grabbed my arm and began helping me up and dragging me away.

I couldn't find the will to move all I could think was where was my family? My mom and dad, my little brother, where are they? Are they ok?

My vision began to get blurry, my hearing muffled and I felt my body go limp as I fell to the ground. I remember seeing my worried friends, classmates and teacher looking down at me as I Laid on the ground, but it wasn't there worried faces that my eyes locked on to it was the rising smoke behind them. It was all I could seem to focus on as I faded away.
